Great sound, lousy HDMI ARC connection to TV

Owned for 10 months when reviewed.This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I constantly have issues with the unit not connecting to my TV via the HDMI ARC and defaulting to the TV speakers. I have to turn the power off to the tv and the soundbar and then power them back on to get them to connect properly. When it works, the sound is great.

Thank you for purchasing the HW-Q600B Soundbar. There are a few steps you can take to troubleshoot your Soundbar.
Please verify that you are running the latest firmware on your TV. You can check to see what software version your TV is using and if there is an available update through the settings on your TV. Go to: Menu > Settings > Support > Software Update.
First, try doing a soft reset, unplug the soundbar from the outlet for roughly 30 seconds and then plug it back in.
Next, with the Soundbar on, press the + & - (Volume UP/DOWN) buttons on the body at the same time for at least 5 seconds. “INIT OK” appears on the display and then the Soundbar is reset.

Sound is like sun and thr moon, both just beautiful and powerful. No distortion, no skips or disconnects. Currently hooked to tv and phone, yes both! Got it open box and the rest is history.

I wish the instructions were better. Seems to be a one size fits all instruction booklet. Not very clear on setting up sound modes.

Connected my apple TV to it and the sound bar to TV. Great performace especially watching Dolby Atmos movies. Fells like movie theater.

If I had paid list price, I would have been sorely disappointed. I also bought the rear surround speakers to make this a true 5.1.2 system, which great enhanced it's sound quality. Overall, the sub is somewhat underpowered at or near max volume, but for the majority of people, this system will be a great and budget friendly surround system, if you can get this with the rears for $350 out the door. Otherwise, it leaves something to be desired for the full range. Highs are clear and crisp, plug and play with Q-Symphony is nice if pairing this to a newer Samsung QLED.

The only gripe I have about this sound bar is that the Subwoofer leaves a lot to be desired. The sound bar is super premium for sure but then they paired it with a Budget sounding subwoofer. C'mon Samsung. Not bestbuys fault.

You can manually optimize your audio experience by pressing the SOUND MODE button to select the desired pre-equalized sound setting. The choices are SURROUND SOUND – GAME – ADAPTIVE SOUND – DTS VIRTUAL:X – STANDARD.
To control the volume of the treble or bass sound, press the TONE CONTROL button and then adjust the volume between -6 to +6 by using the Up/Down buttons.
Press and hold the SOUND CONTROL button for about 5 seconds to adjust the sound for each frequency band. 150Hz, 300Hz, 600Hz, 1.2kHz, 2.5kHz, 5kHz, and 10kHz are selectable using the Left/Right buttons and each can be adjusted to a setting between -6 to +6 using the Up/Down buttons. (Make sure the Sound mode is set to “STANDARD”.)
Press the CH LEVEL button so you can adjust the volume of each speaker. CENTER LEVEL or TOP LEVEL can be adjusted using the UP/DOWN buttons from -6 to +6.

Entertainment with quality I

Needed better sound quality, so I purchased the Samsung Q600B sound bar. Sound is fantastic and works with the remote from the TV. Added feature, if you have another Bluetooth stereo device, you can pair them up as well.

It sounds clear and no problems but you can get the same quality with a cheaper sounds bar

Described the situation to the Best Buy sales rep. He recommended several solutions and we chose this option. We had the Geeks install it and problem solved. Sound is perfect.

Got home set it all up and finally I can watch a movie and hear it. It’s too long to explain but I’m very happy that I finally got me a sound bar. Easy to install.
