So far we have mixed emotions. It wasn’t an easy set up. It has frequently randomly turned up or not worked at all. When it works, it works well.

      Hi MNicole,

We appreciate you taking a few moments to review the HW-Q600C Soundbar.

First, you will want to download the latest software for your Soundbar. You can download the firmware directly from Samsung’s website by clicking “Support” in the top right corner. Then go to “Manuals & Software” > “TVs & Home Audio” > “Home Audio” > “Sound Bars”. From there, you can select the HW-Q600C under Q Series.

Download the update and install it via USB thumb stick to your soundbar. If you need additional help, there are how-to instructions on this page. Please know that Samsung Customer Service is here to assist as well.

Alternatively, you can download SmartThings on your iOS or Android device. This will allow you to update your Soundbar automatically or manually right from your phone or tablet.

Please verify that you are running the latest firmware on your TV. You can check to see what software version your TV is using and if there is an available update through the settings on your TV. Go to: Menu > Settings > Support > Software Update.

First, try doing a soft reset, unplug the soundbar from the outlet for roughly 30 seconds and then plug it back in.

If this still does not correct your issue, then do a hard reset. With the Soundbar on, press the + & - Volume buttons on the body of the soundbar at the same time for at least 5 seconds. INIT OK” appears on the display and then the Soundbar is reset.

If you need more help, Samsung is here for you. Please call us at 1-800-SAMSUNG, 8AM - 12AM EST (Ask for Soundbars), 7 days a week. Our Live Chat agents are also available by clicking on the ‘Support’ link on our website.

First of all I am blind so I can not speak much on the aesthetics of teh soundbar. But it feels nice and has some heft. The wireless subwoofer feel well constructed as well. Setup was easy the speaker and soundbar pairing instructions are straight forward. It actually took longer to find the menu options on the TV and Roku to route the sound to the soundbar than it took to connect it to the TV. I did not mount my soundbar on a wall so I cant speak of the wall mounting brackets. I sit about 8 feet away from teh soundbar sound quality is very good, the subwoofer has a good thump I can feel the vibrations on my couch and floor at around 25 percent volume, at 35 percent the deep bass is enough to rattle my windows. At 40 percent its lound enough to be easily heard outside at a distance of 20 feet. I have not raised the volume above 50 percent. As for movie/tv watching I watched movies/TV on the main streaming services Netflix, Disney+, Prime Video, Youtube, Hulu. Netflix and Disney+ are teh two services I have to put the volume at 40ish percent they tend to be the quietest for the record I stream via Roku and do not use the Smart TV functions due to the ease of use and accessibility functions which Roku is vague on if they fully support Dobly ATMOS. The sound quialty was good, and the sound tricks to make you think the sound is coming from speakers above and behind you work well. Now for the drawbacks and these may or may not apply to a sigthed person. The display screen is on top of the sound bar and can not be seen if you are sitting down. The other is the ports are not the easiest to plug and unplug cables too. The soundbar has a power brick that one has to plug in the soundbar to the power brick and then plug that into a outlet. Me personally I dislike the remote since the remote is small the buttons are crowded together and the volume rocker bar is raised up at the bottom of the remote and gets in the way. Lastly it would be nice if the soundbar told you what volume level it was set at since I have control other devices enabled to I can control volume and power via my Roku.

I recently purchased this soundbar from Best Buy, and I couldn't be happier with my decision. The sound quality is incredible—rich, clear, and fills the room beautifully whether I’m watching movies, listening to music, or gaming. The bass is surprisingly powerful for a soundbar, and the dialogue clarity makes a huge difference in shows and films. Setup was a breeze. It connected to my TV in just a few minutes, and the Bluetooth functionality makes it super easy to stream music from my phone. The remote is intuitive, and the design is sleek and modern—it fits perfectly in my living room setup. Best Buy’s staff were also super helpful during the buying process and made sure I found the right model for my needs. Overall, this soundbar exceeded my expectations. Highly recommended!

    Great! With some drawbacks.

So far, despite a few drawbacks, I love this soundbar! For context, I've paired it with a Samsung Q60R TV. The product shipped undamaged and brand new! At its best, apps like Netflix and Max have been able to deliver crisp Dolby Atmos audio. It's incredibly lifelike; at louder volumes, it's like being in a theater. The up-firing speakers work best at slightly louder volumes, or if you set up your seat to be closer. There do exist a few negatives though. Some apps like Disney Plus and Paramount Plus claim to offer Dolby Atmos yet only deliver compressed Dolby Digital Plus. However, that's a problem for those companies to fix. On its own, another problem I ran into was audio passthrough. My TV has an ARC port instead of the newer eARC port and only supports compressed Dolby Digital passthrough. I partly bought the soundbar to experience my PS5 the way it was intended. But I only get stereo on most games and Dolby Digital on Blu-rays, even when those movies have an Atmos audio file. I do get the intended sound when I plug the PS5 directly into the soundbar but then I lose the high framerate feature by plugging directly into my TV. I suppose much of this is a personal issue, but if you're in the same boat as me, make sure that your TV either has an eARC port or purchase an HDMI splitter!

We bought this sound bar to replace a Polk Audio bar that was several years old. The reason why is that we were struggling to hear dialogue on TV. The Polk Audio bar was a 2.1 setup. The Samsung is a 3.1 setup meaning it has a center channel and the difference in dialogue is very pronounced. There are 2 ways to enhance dialogue with this sound bar and both work well; it can be done via the modes selection on the remote or by increasing the volume of the center channel via the remote. Bass is very good and the overall tonal quality is a huge upgrade over the Polk Audio system.

I am quite happy with my purchase. this soundbar is a nice upgrade over my 9 year old sound bar. I dont think it is worth the $600 price but if you can get it on sale then this may be right for you. Very powerful and loud sound. I have to turn the bass down. dedicated center speaker for dialog is very helpful when watching TV or movies. If you are looking for a sound bar that has a bass that packs a punch for watching action movies this is definitely the product for you.

The Samsung HW-Q600C soundbar delivers clear, powerful sound with solid bass, thanks to its 3.1.2-channel setup and wireless subwoofer. Dolby Atmos and Q-Symphony work great with Samsung TVs, creating a wide, immersive audio experience, especially for movies and games. While the height effects and bass won’t match high-end systems, it’s an excellent value for most living rooms. Easy setup, strong dialogue clarity, and smart sound modes make it a great mid-range choice. Overall: A versatile, impactful soundbar that’s ideal for Samsung TV owners and anyone looking to upgrade their home theater without breaking the bank.

Great value. Greta sound detail. Great mids, great highs, great lows but loses connection and defaults to tv speaker intermittently. Sometimes it won't start with the TV (S90C). Tried to update the firmware but won't recognize a bunch of USB drives. I gave up and returned it. I would have kept if it wasn't for the connection issues. Just my luck I guess. I got the QS730D instead, so far so good.

This is a great sound bar. Set up is pretty simple, but getting it to work is a different story. When I first set it up and turned it on, I would get this feedback noise coming out of the soundbar and subwoofer. After researching it for a bit, I came to the conclusion that I needed to be updated. It says you have two options to update the software one being the SmartThings app and the second being a USB stick. I don’t believe this particular soundbar works with the SmartThings app. I spend about 2 hours trying before giving up. After updating it through the usb drive I never got that feedback noise again. It works great and I have no regrets about getting it.

Good soundbar. This one is 3.1.2 and puts out pretty good sound. Have only used to watch old mtv videos and movies. Bass speaker linked up quickly and adds good sound. Had issues getting Q Symphony to work until i hard reset the soundbar with Samsung support. I dont feel like its super loud but a th the tv linked to it I really enjoy the tv now. Great middle price sound bar. Recommend for adding some good clear sound but not if you want a very loud rocking experience. Cant beat a full size stereo system is what I mean.
