I would recommend it if you're looking for something to replace an old/outdated speaker system. Nothing beats HDMI connectivity.
I bought this for my son's room to replace an outdated 2010 Logitech Z506. I asked my son if he noticed any difference in sound quality; he said NO!! Sorry Samsung, but this soundbar looks very cheap quality. I got it on sale for 68% off and it still feels overpriced.
I gave it 4 stars for HDMI connectivity which the Z506 lacked.

Hello lenida1000,
Thank you for taking a moment to review the HW-Q60B Soundbar. Your feedback is very important to us and will be shared with our internal teams.
You can manually optimize your audio experience by pressing the SOUND MODE button to select the desired pre-equalized sound setting. The choices are SURROUND SOUND – GAME – ADAPTIVE SOUND – DTS VIRTUAL:X – STANDARD.
To control the volume of the treble or bass press the TONE CONTROL button, and then adjust the volume between -6 to +6 by using the Up/Down buttons on your soundbar remote.
Press and hold the SOUND CONTROL button for about 5 seconds to adjust the sound for each frequency band. 150Hz, 300Hz, 600Hz, 1.2kHz, 2.5kHz, 5kHz, and 10kHz are selectable using the Left/Right buttons and each can be adjusted to a setting between -6 to +6 using the Up/Down buttons. (Make sure the Sound mode is set to “STANDARD”.)
If you would like louder (or softer) bass from your subwoofer, you can adjust the level by rocking the WOOFER button on the soundbar remote and then adjusting the level from -6 to +6. To set the subwoofer volume level to 0, press the button in.
Lastly, pressing the CH LEVEL button will allow you to adjust the CENTER channel for improved dialogue quality.

Boy, Does She Have Some Bass!

I must say this Soundbar was much larger than I expected. The remote that comes with it is premium and can control all the modes of the Soundbar. The subwoofer is not that big and does what it's supposed to do. Now let's get to the Soundbar. I'm using this with my computer monitor and laptop. After configuring the HDMI cord correctly and setting it up, I was surprised at the audio this thing pumped out.
This thing has some Bass to it. This thing can get very loud. Playing Music I could hear the audio on the other side of the house and it sounded good. The Bass and Treble can be adjusted to your liking. I didn't even have it turned up all the way. There is a standard mode, Surround, Gaming, and another mode that I didn't use. I had mine on Surround Sound since that worked best for me. I didn't test the gaming mode. Yet, when watching movies and entertainment this thing sounded great. I like the bass it puts out. She has a lot of Bass! It has a USB-A connection, HDMI, and Bluetooth connection. I like how it roots my HDMI video and audio even though this is a soundbar.
So let me talk about the biggest problem I have with this Soundbar. Most people will use this with HDMI. Yet, the default output is the USB-A. For some reason when I turn this thing on after a few minutes, it will switch to the default output. This is annoying since it will do this at least two times each time I turn this Soundbar on. I'm not sure if it has a sleep mode also. Since when I go away from my computer for 5 minutes it reverts to the USB-A default output. It does this one time each time I turn it on and it works fine. This is the only real problem I have with this. Why isn't the default output setting HDMI since that is what 99.99% of people will use? Why does it default out of the output each time you turn the soundbar on?
Outside of that, this Soundbar is great. I don't mind switching it back to the HDMI output that I use. I just know it will happen 1-2 times when I go to use the Soundbar. The Audio now is much more enjoyable. When I'm listening to entertainment or doing content creation it makes my Audio experience much more real. The experience is much more authentic since audio plays a huge improvement when it comes to technology.

Hello,
Thank you for sharing your detailed review based on the HW-Q60B Soundbar. I am glad to see that you are loving the audio quality of your new soundbar!
If you are connecting your soundbar to your computer using both the USB and HDMI this is why the inputs are switching. The USB port is for firmware updates or playing movies and music from a thumb stick/portable hard drive.
Since all of your video and audio should be coming through your HDMI for the best audio and user experience, I would recommend removing the USB connection entirely.
I hope this tip helps improve your enjoyment. For more help, please call us at 1-800-SAMSUNG (Ask for Soundbars), 8 AM – 12 AM EST, 7 days a week. LiveChat with an agent as well as manuals, software, and warranty info can be found at the ‘Support’ link on our Samsung website.

Purchased this item as an open box, good. I was excited because I was buying for my husband for Christmas and as long as it works, we dont really care if it's "brand new" or not. But when you both work Ft AND have 3 kids, shopping in-store is next to impossible. So, to mh surprise, best buy no longer mentions what parts of the "this item includes" are missing in their open box price advertisements. So, to my surprise the only thing I recieved is the sound bar. No wireless sub, no plug, no mounts, no remote, no instructions. The item description says: minor scratches/marks/residue.

Great Mid-Level Sound Bar, Compact Size

The Samsung HW-Q60B one of Samsung’s more basic Q-Series sound bar’s but that doesn’t mean it’s missing many features you would want/need. Just note they do many more advanced sound bars in this series.
In the Box:
- Sound Bar w/ Wireless Subwoofer
- Power Cable w/ Brick
- HDMI 1.4 Cable
- Remote w/ 2 AAA Batteries
- Wall Mount Brackets
- Manuals
Setup:
This will vary depending on the TV you plan to use this sound bar with but it shouldn’t be difficult. I chose to pair this to a 75” 2018 Samsung Q8F (Great TV) and it was seamless. I plugged in power cable to the sound bar, plugged in the subwoofer, hooked up optical to the sound bar, and boom the subwoofer was connected and the TV prompted to connect to the sound bar. Once accepted, the TV remote controlled the basic functions of volume without the need to take the sound bar remote out of the package. Of course I did to test out some of the more advanced features but it’s incredibly easy to setup this sound bar if you have a Samsung TV.
Sound Quality:
So I have been using an older Samsung HW-MS650 for many years. I absolutely love the sound from this sound bar. Switching to a divorced setup with a dedicated subwoofer and sound bar took a little getting used to. Immediately I noticed the treble (high) and vocals were extremely crisp with the new sound bar. It was so different, I had to tweak the settings down just a little because it sounded overly bright. Outside of this, the subwoofer has just enough punch (especially sitting in the corner of the room) that it fills an open 500-600 sq. ft. room with plenty of low end. I noticed it required increasing the volume level about 25% higher to get the same sound from this sound bar than my older Samsung one. Not a huge issue but once you have it dialed in, you aren’t changing the volume all too much.
There are several customization options including changing the center channel volume, sound profiles, and subwoofer levels.
- SURROUND: Sound is “wider” or more “open” feeling.
- GAME: Designed for gaming.
- ADAPTIVE: Seemed to enhance vocals.
- DTS VIRTURAL: Mimics a surround sound mode.
- STANDARD: Standard.
When switching through the sound modes, I could only tell minor differences in the sound qualities. This room also has a built in 5.1 system which we typically use for movies. This sound bar will not provide this type of sound given it is missing the rear speakers (and is less powerful) but it does support wireless options from Samsung if you wanted to add them. As a whole, I was very impressed with the clarity of vocals and adequate low end from the subwoofer. This is a HUGE upgrade from TV speakers so for that reason alone I would recommend a sound bar to anyone.
Usage:
This sound bar has a “hidden” LED display on the right side, front of the sound bar. This displays volume level, input setting, sound quality, basically whatever setting you are changing at the time. I like the fact Samsung programs it to completely turn off after a very short time unlike some other brands I have used which only dim. I really wish Samsung let you change setting from the TV display as it’s much easier to navigate and ensure you are setting everything where you want.
The sound bar itself is more compact than our former “all-in-one” unit. I really like the fact it is more compact (thinner) but it does show more gap between the bottom of the TV and the top of the sound bar. This will vary between makes and models of TV’s and the stand height/design. I guess one thing to point out is the fact sound bars generally work best with TV with stands on the outside edges and not in the center. If you wall mount your TV or sound bar this should not be an issue.
Overall:
Overall, I believe this is a very attractive looking sound bar with a great feature set and sound. This isn’t a flagship product from Samsung but this isn’t some entry level product either. This is a good middle ground if you want something that works well with cable TV or streaming and also music via BT or USB. I would recommend this product to anyone interested in a mid-tier sound bar.
Pros:
- Compact, slim, attractive design either freestanding or wall mounted
- Many Input Options
- HDMI Cable Included
Cons:
- Small LED Display, Hard to Navigate
- Q-Symphony only available with select 2020 and newer Samsung TV’s

The Samsung HW-Q60B soundbar and subwoofer are a good small combo. I hooked them up to a Samsung Q70 TV and the soundbar hung nicely below my TV. I did not use the included wall mounts I used an extension to my TV mount. Install was super easy, all just plug and play. Unfortunately even though this is a newer TV it isn't compatible with the Q-Symphony technology which is a big let down. I have this in a smaller area and the sound is noticeably better than the TV speakers. When using the DTS Virtual or the Surround mode it felt like there was sound coming from every angle. I think they did a good job bouncing the sound around to simulate extra speakers. There is a configuration for Voice Enhancement which does good at bringing the voices forward however I didn't think it was necessary. I was able to hear the dialog fine. Even without using the Adaptive settings. I haven't found a situation yet like on other sound systems where you have to turn up the volume for dialog and then the action is super loud. These speakers are pretty balanced. There is just enough bottom end to make the sound full but not shake the house. I did have to turn the bass and woofer up a little for my taste. I think the sub woofer probably could be a little bit bigger and more powerful. I like that there is a lot of control over the sound though. You can do the typical settings for treble and bass. You can increase the center channel volume and the woofer volume. But then you can also pull up equalizer settings that let you tweak every frequency. I wish the display on the soundbar was better than a tiny screen that scrolls text across but this has been Samsung's go to design for years. The remote is a typical flat remote so I'm really glad they did away with the curved remotes that kept falling off of everything. However, you don't need the soundbar remote unless you are changing settings. The TV remote will control the volume on the soundbar. I would recommend this soundbar. It packs a pretty good punch without spending a lot of money.

Hello acidxfrost,
Thank you for your incredibly detailed review, your feedback is very important to us. Your experiences will be shared with our internal teams.
I am sorry if there has been any confusion on whether your TV and Soundbar could connect together using Q-Symphony. If your model TV is the Q70T from 2020, then this is why you are unable to use Q-Symphony. 2020 is the first year we introduced Q-Symphony and the feature started on the Q80T and above.

***SET UP:*** Had to get creative installing it, but once it was up, we started enjoying The Lord of The Rings trilogy - and for that use case, it has been great. If Samsung had given a few more mounting spots, it would have been easier and I wouldn't have had to use zip-ties around the top of the unit, though.
***CONNECTIVITY:*** I tried using the set with HDMI ARC as well as with Digital Optical for audio (that one through my PC) and in both cases it passed the audio through to the speakers just fine. Also in both cases, however, I had to adjust volume with the set (instead of with the TV remote). This shouldn't be the case when using ARC. Could be an issue with my Vizio TV only, though. Not sure. Bluetooth pairing with my cell phone was quick and works great.
***OPTIONS:*** The soundbar's built-in settings (accessible via the remote) allow you to adjust overall effect, treble, bass, and center channel volume. The latter coming in very handy to give you an immersive experience; you don't want to _only_ hear the center.
***SOUND:*** Mid and high sounds are crisp and pleasant. Bass is reasonable, coming from a small box. I found the overall sound to be less boomy and lower sounds to be louder when facing the port toward the listener (instead of grille side). Connected to my PC, I was able to use something called "Peace" equalizer and really get the set to shine - the little sub does surprisingly well below 100 Hz (though it's boomy out of the box at 100). I listened to classic rock, symphony, rap, and country, and overall, I think this is a fine setup for all types - especially if you live in an apartment, as the sub isn't earth-shaking.
***CONCLUSION:*** I've had no connectivity issues and the sound is good for the size. If Samsung can get ARC to work right with my regular remote and improve the mounting options, I think the next version of this will be superb. As it sits, for the price, 4/5.

The soundbar arrived in a strangely shaped box. Included in the box besides the soundbar was a subwoofer, remote control with batteries, power supply, an HDMI cable, wall mount hardware with placement template, and some simple paper instructions.
Linking the subwoofer to the soundbar was easy. First make sure you have the batteries installed in the remote. With both the soundbar and the subwoofer connected to power, press and hold the ID Set button on the subwoofer. Notice the link light and the standby lights. After 5 seconds release the ID Set button and the link light should be blue and blink rapidly. Next, using the remote control, press the On button to turn on the soundbar. Notice the soundbar display panel on the front and to the right. Press and hold the Up button (top part of the ring that surrounds the “Play” button). After 5 seconds the Soundbar display shows ID Set and the link light on the subwoofer stops blinking and is solid blue. That’s it. There are no wires between the soundbar and the subwoofer, making it simple to put the subwoofer where you want it without being limited by cord length.
The soundbar has multiple connection ports and supports Bluetooth connections as well. If you need a wired connection there is an HDMI in (ARC) port, a regular HDMI out, USB and a Digital Optical Out. I tried it with a couple of different TVs. The newer one supported the HDMI (ARC) just fine. But the 12-year-old TV only had HDMI “in” ports on it. None of the HDMI connections worked with that TV. I had a digital optical cable on hand and it worked when connected between the older TV and the soundbar. Use the source button on the soundbar or the remote to select which source you want to use. The soundbar display shows the one selected.
Bluetooth connects are easy. Just press and hold the source button on the soundbar or use the pair button on the remote to put the soundbar in Bluetooth pairing mode. The soundbar display will show BT on the display. Work the Bluetooth magic on the connecting device, use 0000 for the PIN code if asked. Then, like magic, you are paired. The soundbar supports Bluetooth Multi connection, so you can have two devices both connected at once. It paired easily with my Samsung Galaxy phone and my iPad Pro.
When I tried it all out with one of my favorite action movies, the sound was amazing. Explosions and car chases were vivid and the subwoofer literally shook the floor. The sound is every bit as good as my older but expensive sound system.
One thing to note on the remote, there are separate volume controls for the soundbar and the subwoofer. The soundbar on the left half of the volume control and the subwoofer on the right. They toggle up and down. They are not press buttons. To turn the volume up, nudge the toggle up toward the + sign. To turn the volume down, nudge the toggle down toward the – sign.
All in all, it is relatively easy to set up, with enough flexibility to work with many different devices. The remote control is simple, but does what is needed. The sound is amazing.

This sound bar has met all of my expectations since setting it up just after the holidays. I would recommend this sound bar to anyone looking to add a little "oomph" to their AV set up. Please keep in mind that this sound bar is pretty standard, I currently use it in my master bedroom where the TV is a tad older but still has the appropriate hook-ups to accommodate a sound bar like this. The speaker (bar) and the sub work nicely together and are actually a tad on the compact side which really works well with most TVs. The light weight nature of both pieces of this packages was a surprise to me too since other sound bars I have use in the past were a tad on the bulky/heavy side. Outside of the design, all hook ups are present that you would need for any new-ish TV and even most older models that have HDMI. The sound that is pumped through the sub and speaker is great too; I experience no muffled output, rattling or anything outside of crips treble and deep base. Depending on your room size too this package would work very well, I would not recommend this for a home theater set up but for a bedroom or medium sized living space this would be a great fit.
In closing, if you need a middle of the road, quality sound bar that can pump out great sound while being built on the compact light-weight side, then this is the set-up for you as it checks the box in all of these areas while being easy to set up with only a couple cords.

So Much Better than Built-In TV Speakers!

This soundbar is exactly what I was missing for my secondary room setup, but is it right for you? Firstly, you have to decide what sort of setup you’re looking for and know what a soundbar can and cannot do for you.
SOUNDBARS AND SURROUND SOUND:
This soundbar is a 3.1 channel setup. That means you have 3 speakers: a left, center, and right channel. That’s what’s on the soundbar itself. The .1 part of it refers to the subwoofer. The subwoofer here is wireless, so it doesn’t need to be near your tv/soundbar setup – just in the same room connected to a power outlet.
Breaking down those numbers: You may see a 2, 3, 5, or even more channel setup. That first number before the decimal point are the main speakers. Then you have .1, which is subwoofer. Then you may have another point, like 3.1.2. That last .2 is referring to secondary setups – usually an upward facing ATMOS speaker.
Generally speaking, the larger your room and the more immersive you want your sound, the more speakers you want. Of course, we’re talking about a very wide range of costs and options. Let’s get back to this model: The 3.1 channel setup is a step up from a 2.1 channel setup due to its inclusion of a center channel. That tends to result in clearer sounding dialogue.
We covered what it is, but let’s go into what it isn’t: this is not a full surround sound system. It seems confusing, but the “2 up-firing channels” aren’t the same as actual upward firing speakers. It’s important to note that it can DECODE Dolby Atmos (the latest sound tech from Dolby; it also handles DTS5.1, Dolby Digital and all other formats you can throw at it) you’re not hearing true surround sound – there just aren’t any rear speakers to accomplish this. You CAN additionally purchase wireless rear speakers for this model though if you ever want to expand to true surround sound. What this model offers instead if a virtual surround environment, where it processes the sound in a way to make it perceived like it’s coming out in a fully surround environment.
PACKAGING AND SETUP:
The box is L shaped, and while it looks like it may be questionable it is packaged well, with plenty of support. Protip: open it bottom side up, removing the soundbar first. This DOES come with mounting hardware – everything except the tools and any wall specific anchors you may need. I did not use the mounting hardware, but it seems sturdy and high quality.
My soundbar is sitting in front of my TV – a slightly older 4k TCL ROKU television. The set up is very simple: power cable and an HDMI cable to your television (HDMI cable IS included!) via the ARC HDMI channel on your TV. There is also an additional HDMI port for a direct connection, optical line, and USB port for playing MP3s directly or firmware updates. Unless you have a very specific setup or older equipment, you’ll likely just need the single HDMI connection to your TV.
The subwoofer is separate, connecting just to a power outlet and can be located anywhere you’d like. Subwoofers sit on the floor to work and do not need to have a line of sight to where you’re sitting. It connects to the soundbar wirelessly and automatically. As soon as both the subwoofer and the soundbar were plugged into power they just connected without any additional work from me.
My TV automatically recognized the soundbar and adjusted it’s audio output settings to use the soundbar - depending on your TV, you may need to do this yourself.
USAGE:
At this point, with all the connections and the sound being sent through the soundbar instead of the TV speakers itself, you’re set. Everything else is minor adjusting, but right out of the box it works and works well!
It comes with a tiny remote to access some of the features. If you’re using a TV with ARC or eARC (and you likely are), your existing remote should control the volume automatically. This includes powering on and off along with your television.
It’s worth noting now that the user manual includes printed instructions on how to set up the soundbar, and a printed one sheet includes remote functions and how to wall mount. There is a QR code that links to the full manual. You WILL need to access the full manual if you want to know about the different sound modes as there is NOTHING that comes printed with the soundbar that explains the difference between them.
It's a frustrating step that becomes moreso when you realize the download is a .zip file that contains the manuals for several similar models in the series. If you’re like me, you’re using the QR code on your phone and your phone isn’t handled to unpack a zip file meaning you’ll have to go to your computer to figure it out. All of this is very unnecessary just to find out what the basic five sound modes do:
SURROUND: makes the sound “wider” than standard. GAME: tailored for videogames. ADAPTIVE: this one enhances dialogue. DTS VIRTURAL: X is the virtual surround mode that makes it seem like a full surround setup. STANDARD is, well, standard. You CAN adjust an equalizer on the machine itself.
Speaking of, there’s no on-screen display with a soundbar, there’s a little display on the right-hand side of the soundbar, that through the grill resembles a dot matrix display. It’s a small square and not super clear but works well enough. You likely won’t be adjusting settings often enough for it to become an issue.
In addition to the direct connections there’s also Bluetooth, which I used with my phone. It connected easily without issue. That does require you change the input with the included remote or the button on the top of the soundbar itself.
BUT HOW DOES IT SOUND?
It sounds great! This is being used in my bedroom. In my living room I have a full 5.1 A/V receiver setup and while you cannot really compare the two, I am VERY impressed with his soundbar. TV shows and movies have crisp, clear dialogue, and the bass is punchy enough to make movies sound fantastic. With music, everything sounds great, although you may need to adjust the subwoofer/bass sound depending on the genre you’re listening to. The remote has a separate button next to the volume control just for adjusting the bass though, so that’s very easy to do.
The different sound modes seem to work well enough. However, I struggled to really hear a difference with the virtual surround. This could be do to many factors, such as the room layout, the media playing, or just my ear coming from a different set up from my other room’s setup. Your milage may vary, but I don’t consider it a drawback as it still sounds great. Again, if you’re after real surround sound, you’ll want to start with a 5.1 setup or purchase Samsung’s rear speaker add on.
FINAL THOUGHTS:
I don’t have other soundbars to compare it to, but this does exactly what it needs to! It connects easily and sounds great. I would for sure pick this 3.1 setup over a 2.1 setup just for the added center channel. I do believe that makes a big difference. If you’re just using your television’s built in speakers you NEED to upgrade to a soundbar – it’s like night and day. And, well, despite my minor gripe with the printed materials that come with it, this soundbar works fantastically and sound amazing. It’s clear, crisp, loud, and powerful. I’d 100% recommend this product to anyone looking to upgrade their sound from the basics to something higher quality.

Samsung has a few Q-Series soundbars available, and this Q60B is near the bottom of the list, both featurewise, power, and price. The package comes with the Q60B soundbar, subwoofer, power cables, HDMI cable, remote control, 2 AAA batteries for the remote, mounting brackets, and paperwork. The sound system comes with a manufacturer's 1-year warranty.
BASIC SPECS:
----------------
Soundbar weight: 7.7 lbs
Subwoofer weight: 12.1 lbs
Soundbar power: 180W (30W x6)
Subwoofer power: 160W
PROS:
-----------
* It has a great look visually with mesh metal shell and angled ends. It's very sturdy and doesn't feel cheap.
* Good overall sound quality with Dolby Atmos and DTX Virtual:X is created with 3 channels and 2 up-firing channels. The subwoofer brings it all together.
* Adaptive sound assists the user in getting what they want out of what they are watching. Music, movies, news... depending on what you are watching, you can enhance the frequencies you need to hear the most. ie. Many older people like to hear people talking instead of background noise in movies - this can be achieved with this soundbar.
* If you have a Samsung mobile device, you can use a "tap" sequence to play music via the Samsung SmartThings app. If you use Apple, you're out of luck with this feature.
* Connect audio via HDMI/ARC, digital input (fiber), or via Bluetooth (BT). AUX-IN and RCA connections are NOT available for inputs.
* The remote control has been redesigned and is much slimmer than past models. Functions and button placement on the remote; however, do resemble Samsung soundbar remotes of the past. The remote is easy to use, is ultra-lightweight, and feels well-built even given the light weight.
* Connecting of Subwoofer to soundbar was automatic out of the box but does have an ID SET key sequence you can perform if there are issues.
* USB port is available on the soundbar bottom cutout (see picture) where you can play music files on a thumb drive. This is a bit difficult to access. I have not used this function since I use BT for music playback.
* The soundbar does come with mounting hardware but I did not use.
CONS:
-----------
* Samsung has stuck with a minimal scrolling text display behind the metal mesh front. This is something I wish Samsung would improve upon instead of having words in the settings scroll each time you look at a menu item.
* The remote control uses IR instead of bluetooth, so you will need line of sight to operate. It would be good if both options were available for different setups or simply use BT only.
OTHER OBSERVATIONS:
-----------
* There is no on-screen setup through eARC. All settings are done via the minimalistic scrolling text on the front, right side display of the main unit.
* There is not a ton of bass with this system at 160W. IMO, it is made for an apartment, bedroom, or back patio area. If you have a man cave or large room, you may opt for a full system with receiver or a flagship soundbar system which includes rear speakers too. For a smaller area, this system provides plenty of immersive sound though as shown by the BASIC SPECS section above.
CONCLUSION:
=====================
Overall, a good soundbar system by Samsung. It's not their flagship system, so you should expect as much. For a smaller room, this soundbar works perfectly. The highs/lows and sound mix (Dolby) really suck you into the movie in compact areas. The remote allows for quick change in subwoofer volume without getting into menus which is a plus. Playing music from a BT device works like a charm and offers plenty of volume and fullness for most setups. I recommend this soundbar but only for smaller room settings unless you're simply going the budget route. If that's the case, you can't go wrong with this soundbar with the price, sounds, and looks overall.
I would recommend this to a friend

This SAMSUNG HW-Q60B 3.1ch Soundbar with Dolby Atmos, DTX Virtual:X Q Symphony, Adaptive Sound, Game Mode, Subwoofer, remote control, and wall mounting brackets, is one of the best sounding soundbars I have ever had. I have it in my bedroom, where I have my television, laptop, tablet, and smartphone. I use it all the time for listening to music from my smartphone, watching television shows and movies, streaming live concerts, playing games on my laptop, gaming systems, and listening to audiobooks. The setup is super simple, and the connections can be the following:
Specific models of Samsung televisions with HDMI eArc, most all televisions with HDMI, as long as you can change the audio output to HDMI, Bluetooth, which is what I use most, USB, Digital Audio Optical, and HDMI CEC. Note that only certain models of Samsung televisions are compatible with HDMI eArc. There is a long list.
Audio modes:
This is a true 3.1 immersive audio experience. Whether you are playing a game, watching a movie, listening to music, watching sports, or watching a live concert, there is a mode for it.
Dolby Atmos/DTS Virtual X will give you 3D sound from all around. I felt enveloped in sound. It was awesome.
Q-Symphony is for compatible Samsung televisions, and that mode made it sound like I was in the middle of the football field during a football game. It was pretty cool.
Adaptive Sound is different. I really did not get this mode. It had great clarity for voices, but other sounds were not enhanced a lot.
Game mode was great. I’m a big gamer so I enjoy this mode a lot. During game chat, I can hear the players well and the sound effects were over the top.
The mounting I didn’t do, but it looks easy enough.
To get the most benefit out of this soundbar, you will want to have a compatible Samsung television, but even on my old television that isn’t a Samsung, it connects Bluetooth and sounds great. I had no problems with this at all.
