We are happier yet with our Geek Squad Technician - Double Agent/ Travis Custer; he was nothing short of perfection! His knowledge, personality and willingness to patiently answer all of our questions was DEFINITELY over the top customer service! He confirmed his window time arrival the day prior (between 8:00 am & 12:00 pm for day of delivery), arrived within the first hour of window period and was warm, courteous and respectful. He schooled us on the difference between a surround sound system and soundbar system and moved our soundbar above for better sound performance. The first Geek Squad tech (who initially did the install) was in a hurry, gave us misinformation which prompted us to have Geek Squad do a re-install. Travis Custer, you are amazing! Thank you! Thank you! Thank you! You are the reason for the 5 stars! :-)

Bought it on Black Friday as an upgrade to my current system and it did not disappoint! Great Bass, clear sound, and with wireless rear speakers that I can place anywhere.

Sometimes the surround sound startles me when a background noise comes through the speaker. I haven't been able to play it on full blast yet because it starts vibrating my house at around level 47 when listening to music. My only problem is I don't know how to work the remote and all the features it offers but I'm learning.

But the wired rear speakers have to be uniquely placed because they are wired, besides that very easy setup and again the sound is great in an odd shaped den.

Aside from the user errors which were easily fixed. Great sound quality simple selection of Usage IE Bluetooth vs having to use wire. Multiple options from Game sound Adoptive sound etc. Definitely makes me want to upgrade in the future and use this system else where in the house.

At first I was skeptical about surround sound but after trying this system, ill never go back. Great to watch movies on and enjoy some gaming as well. The immersion it brings is so good!

This updated model not only pairs well with our new Samsung TV (Q-Symphony), but also sounds phenomenally better when using the provided surround speakers. Considering the additional cost of the next model up in the same series, this is the best value!

However, if you're looking for an easy way to improve your tv sound, this product does very well. The surround sound speakers are effective in producing a surround sound experience, but the entire system is limited when it comes to setting independent channels. For a soundbar with a sub and surround sound, I am happy with this sound improvement and minimal eye sore found with multiple products required to produce exceptional sound.

Thank you for taking a few moments to review the Samsung HW-Q850D Soundbar.
By pressing the CH LEVEL button, you can adjust the volume of the available channels. Each time you press the CH LEVEL button it will switch to a different channel such as Center, Front Top, or Rear Level. After selecting the channel you wish to adjust, use the UP/DOWN buttons on the provided Soundbar remote to adjust the volume between -6 to +6.
If you would like louder (or softer) bass from your subwoofer, you can adjust the level by rocking the WOOFER button on the soundbar remote, and then adjusting the level from -6 to +6. To set the subwoofer volume level to 0, press the button in.
With the sound mode set to Standard, press and hold the Sound Control button for about 5 seconds to adjust the sound for each frequency band for precise audio adjustments. 150Hz, 300Hz, 600Hz, 1.2kHz, 2.5kHz, 5kHz, and 10kHz are selectable using the Left/Right buttons and each can be adjusted to a setting between -6 to +6 using the Up/Down buttons.

Great buy vs LG s90tr for 2nd tier soundbar

I was going back and forth between the two before I Purchased the LG s90tr but i was so disappointed. Went back the next day and exchanged it with the samsung hw-q850 and it was night and day. Very happy with the sound and volume. Voices are clear and easy to hear and the sound quality was amazing. The only thing it lacks its the height of the sound for Dolby atmos buy overall its great. Easy to set up. Rear speakers can definitely be upgraded.
