After that I also had to instruct the Alexa device to do other things instead of going through the soundbar, e.g. turning off the lights around the television.

Popping noises from rear speakers.

Looked online and apparently this is a known issue with wireless soundbars from Samsung of all types. It has something to do with how the sound bar, sub and rear speakers handles 5ghz traffic, which is not very good. I caution anyone that buys this to put it through its paces during ur return period. In my opinion, I will say pass on this sound bar as it is too expensive for it to turn into useless device not far down the road. Sounds great all but typical samsung product in the R&D department.

Thank you for purchasing the HW-Q950A Soundbar and for your review. Thank you for sharing your experience with your rear speakers and subwoofer producing popping or crackling noises. Your issue may be caused by wireless interference. When there is a wireless device (e.g., wireless LAN) using the same frequency (5.8GHz) near the Soundbar, the wireless connection between the Subwoofer and Surround Speaker could become unstable. This will affect the quality of audio output.
In this case, the radio frequency channel of the Subwoofer and Surround Speaker can be changed as below (please be sure that your display is on first):
1) With the power of the Soundbar on, vertically press and hold the WOOFER button on the remote for at least 5 seconds.
a. The display shows “W-CH” and the currently set radio frequency channel.
2) Press the Circular UP/DOWN button on the remote controller to change the radio frequency channel, and then press the PLAY/PAUSE button in the center.
a. The display shows “OK” and then the frequency is set to the changed channel.
b. You can exit the setting mode by pressing any button other than UP/DOWN or PLAY/PAUSE.

One is the control settings in the app should be more detailed and the base module could be improved upon for deeper base while listening to music

The Q950A is a 11.1.4ch soundbar system. To take advantage of all these channels, the source should be from an Optical or HDMI connection with Dolby Digital content. If you set the sound mode to SURROUND, GAME PRO, or ADAPTIVE, you will get surround sound effect from the rear speakers.

I’m not trying to be negative as I want this to work and spent months researching it. My subwoofer will not connect despite them sending me a new one and countless phone conversations. I got the subwoofer connected briefly for like 2 minutes and it sounded great then without it a sounds bad. They are supposedly sending me a 3rd subwoofer. Do not buy this product as then subwoofer must be made bad. I will end up having to carry this back
