    After two tries with geek Squad to fix the volume. I gave up and turned it off. It would not change volume and the sound was anemic. The volume works fine with just the tv speakers.

    I heard so much about soundbars and I was ready to like this one. But it is merely loud, There is no warmth depth or imaging. My 35 year old Mission book shelf speakers are better. The speech enhancement only makes dialogue louder, it does nothing to clarify words.

    Less than a year old and already starting to crap out

      Hi Ryan,

      Thank you for taking a few moments to review the Samsung HW-S50B Soundbar.

      There are a few steps you can take to troubleshoot your Soundbar.

      First, try doing a soft reset, unplug the soundbar from the outlet for roughly 30 seconds and then plug it back in.

      Next, update the firmware on your soundbar. The easiest way to accomplish this would be to download the SmartThings app and connect your Soundbar to Wi-Fi. This will allow you to not only download any firmware updates but also control your entire soundbar on the screen of your smart device.

      Please also verify that you are running the latest firmware on your TV. You can check to see what software version your TV is using and if there is an available update through the settings on your TV. Go to: Menu > Settings > Support > Software Update.

      If this still does not correct your issue, then do a hard reset. With the Soundbar on, press the + & - Volume buttons on the body of the soundbar at the same time for at least 5 seconds. The LED display changes as follows: White moves from left to right and right to left, and the middle LED blinks Cyan 3 times. Then the middle LED will blink RED and turn off.

      When using Adaptive sound mode it will automatically adjust the sound based on the content.

      As long as your soundbar is connected to your TV via HDMI ARC, you will be able to control the volume and power of your soundbar using your TVs remote. If the feature is not working, or you are not connected via HDMI, you can adjust the remote settings of the soundbar.

      This function can be used with IR remote controls only. Bluetooth remote controls (remote controls that require pairing) are not supported. Set the TV speaker to External Speaker to use this function. 1) Turn Off the Soundbar. 2) Push up and hold the WOOFER button for 5 seconds. Each time you push the WOOFER button up and hold it for 5 seconds, the mode switches in the following order: “Samsung-TV Remote” (Default mode), “Off-TV Remote”, “All-TV Remote”. The LED indicator status changes each time the mode is changed.

    Highly disappointed. Not much different than the tv speaker. I was expecting to really be able to hear a difference. On the plus side it was easy to connect, but the instructions were terrible. Would definitely not buy again.
