Nice soundbar……connection??

Our main tv soundbar just quit and would not respond to hdmi hookup so changed to Bluetooth connection. Have since bought a new hdmi cord and a did a tv software update and now have hdmi connection again. Waiting to see if connection problem solved. No good way to troubleshoot, just got to take a good guess.

I would do a software update on your soundbars so it's on the latest firmware.
1. Connect a USB memory stick to the USB port on your computer. Important: Make sure there are no music files on the USB memory stick drive. This may cause the firmware update to fail.
2. Go to https://www.samsung.com/us/support/ downloads/ on your computer select Enter Model Number and enter the model of your Soundbar. Select manuals and downloads and download the latest software file.
3. Save the downloaded software to a USB memory stick and select “Extract Here” to unzip the folder.
4. Turn on the Soundbar and connect the USB memory stick containing the software update to the female port on a Micro USB adapter cable. Connect the cable to the USBport on the Soundbar.
(You will need to use a Micro USB adapter which is not provided.)
5. Plug USB into Soudbar and switch to USB source, the software will update automatically and will complete update within 2 minutes. During the update process, the 5 LEDs will start flashing in a loop, and then the 5 LEDs will all be bright white, and then the 5 LEDs will flash in a loop again. When the update is complete, the cyan indicator blinks 3 times, and the soundbar automatically restarts.

User Manual Incomplete.

I figured out how to adjust center speaker but cannot figure out how to switch to left/right speakers. How do you switch. I do not have external speaker. Also trying to turn on "Voice Enhancement". It says Voice Enhancement Off. How do you turn it on? Sound seems to be good.

Thank you for sharing your experiences with the HW-S50B Soundbar. I am sorry to see that your initial setup process has been less than ideal.
The HW-S50B features the ability to adjust the Center Channel only, the other channels are unable to be adjusted.
To turn on Voice Enhancement, when you press the SOUND CONTROL button until it says Voice Enhancement OFF, press the UP button (top of the circle pad in the middle of remote) on the provided remote to turn it on.
To be able to download the full manual, which will assist with changing settings, providing detailed descriptions of what the settings are and how to use the remote, download that following these instructions.
Download the full user manual directly from Samsung’s website by clicking “Support” in the top right corner. Then go to “Manuals & Software” > “TVs & Home Theater” > “Home Theater” > “Sound Bars”. From there, you can select the HW-S50B under S Series.

Waste of money
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Had it a year and like it less and less. Have it connected to our Samsung TV. Sound changes from channel to channel. If there is an update you may have to reset soundbar choice. It will also change settings on its own and it has to be reset. Also it has turned off on its own. Thought we made a good choice upgrading from previous Samsung tv and soundbar.

Updating the firmware on your soundbar gives you all the benefits of the latest improvements.
When an update is available, you can update the Soundbar by connecting the USB drive that contains the update firmware to the Micro USB port of the Soundbar.
1.Go to the Samsung Electronics website (www.samsung.com) → click on the “Support” option in the upper right corner.
2.Click on “Manuals & Software” from the pop-up list > TVs & Home Theater > Home Theater > Select your model
2. Download the firmware file (USB type).
3. Save the downloaded software to a USB memory stick and select “Extract Here” to unzip the folder.
4. Turn on the Soundbar and connect the USB memory stick containing the software update to the female port on a Micro USB adapter cable (not supplied). Connect the cable to the USB port on the Soundbar.
5. Plug USB into Soundbar and switch to USB source, the software will update automatically and will complete update within 2 minutes. During the update process, the 5 LEDs will start flashing in a loop, and then the 5 LEDs will all be bright white, and then the 5 LEDs will flash in a loop again. When the update is complete, the cyan indicator blinks 3 times, and the soundbar automatically restarts.
If LED sequence flashing is not displayed:
1. Turn off the Soundbar, disconnect and then reconnect the USB storage device that contains the update files to the Soundbar’s USB port.
2. Disconnect the Soundbar’s power cord, reconnect it, and then turn on the Soundbar.

The sound sucks on thus soundbar no matter how high i turned the volume up and samsung has the audacity to sell this at $199 on sale and $249 regular price lol i have had vizio sound bars that were bought at half the price of this soundbar that sounded way better. Stay away from thus soundbar people you are going to be very dissatisfied with it.
