Owned for 1 week when reviewed.This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I think it has what it takes to give the customer what is expected but I think that the combination with the subwoofer exceeds the price of another sound system .. buy this together with the subwoofer that you should carry but it exceeds $ 600 and it is not a dolby atmos for that value and I have money left over I buy the vizio M512a-H6 which is a dolby atmos and has 11 high performance speakers of course it will leave this sound bar with your mouth open

Sound Bar shuts off every 20 minutes!

Which means you need the remote close by so it can be turned back on, real inconvenience. I’ve tried, firmware updates and talking to Samsung support, neither avenue did anything to help situation!

1st Samsung sound bar

I have removed my home theater speakers. This cleans up my display area. It sounds great! My wife does not like clutter nor the boom of a woofer. This is a good compromise and has the right amount of base once you set the equalizer. Easy HDMI ARC setup. Price was excellent also.

Thank you for purchasing the Samsung HW-S60A Soundbar and for your review. We appreciate your feedback regarding the volume of your soundbar. Simply changing the Digital Output Audio Format to PCM can help the sound performance of your soundbar.
On a Samsung TV this can be found at Home > Settings > Sound > Expert Settings. (It can also be found in the Quick Settings.)
If your Digital Output Audio Format isn't set to PCM, like for instance if you have a Dolby option selected, then you will likely notice decreased maximum volume. Dolby options are designed for surround systems (like 3.1.2 or 7.1), whereas PCM provides great sound quality for stereo speakers.
If you don't have a surround system, you will probably want to select PCM. You'll get much louder volume that way, and potentially better sound quality.
Additionally, some sources have their own volume control which might be set too low. Please check the volume control of the external device (cable box or satellite box, DVD, Blu-ray, etc.) connected to your TV or soundbar. Also, check the cable connection between an external device and the TV or soundbar and then try cable connection again.

I have spent so much money on sound bars because I can not hear the volume on my tvs but using this, its loud an perfect. I am not sure how it will do in a actual house but my Apartment is made like a house an pretty big but to me the it sounds great and I am happy I took a chance on it.

Why? I don’t know, volume features and some other features works better when connected with Sony TV than Samsung TV. Ironic, but true!

The ability to connect either wirelessly or directly with HDMI does not impact the quality of sound; and allows the flexibility to have the bar at any location.
