    It's nice that it's in such a slim form factor, but the sound quality on it isn't great. It's about the same quality as my TV's built-in speakers, but facing forward.

      Thank you for sharing your thoughts about the new HW-S801B Ultra Slim Soundbar. I am sorry to hear that you aren't 100% satisfied with the setup.

      Samsung TVs released in 2017 or later are supported and will be able to use Wi-Fi to connect your Soundbar to your TV.
      1. Connect the Soundbar and TV to the same wireless network (Wi-Fi). Use the SmartThings app on a smart device to connect your Soundbar to Wi-Fi
      2. For the sound output of the TV, select Soundbar.
      3. TV sound is output from the Soundbar.

      This will eliminate all but the power cords for your Soundbar to the TV.

    When I got it home I was very disappointed in the quality of the sound. We moved the subwoofer to different parts of the room, watched movies, tv shows, and listed to music. My Polk Mini has much better sound at a much lower cost.

    Paired this with a Samsung 70 in TV from last year. Works great with the HDMI ARC connection. Does great 3.1 surround, atmos isnt really recognizable. Sound is great for the size. Its missing some of the range frequency, but that is expected. Good overall value.

      If your TV does not have an eARC port, you will need to change your Dolby Digital settings to get Atmos.

      Navigate to Settings, and then select Sound. Select Expert Settings, and then select Digital Output Audio Format. Next, choose your desired audio format: Dolby Digital+.

      This will allow the TV to send Dolby Atmos to your soundbar and you will hear improved Dolby Atmos performance.

    The soundbar is very long and thin, perfect for a person whom enjoys not having an eyesore for a soundbar. Surround sound mode is pretty surrounding. Pairs with two more speakers if you want more surround volume. Subwoofer on the weak end but great for apartment living and individually adjustable.

    Love the sleek look and the sound is great! We also enjoy listening to our music via bluetooth on this device as it carries through the townhouse! The Geek Squad installed this as well as our new Frame TV - FANTASTIC service and will use them again and again! Totally worth the price!

      Thank you for sharing your thoughts regarding the HW-S800B Soundbar. Your feedback on the audio quality will be shared with our internal teams.

      The easiest way to adjust the settings for your new soundbar is to connect it to your Wi-Fi. When you connect your Soundbar to Wi-Fi, it will give you the ability to use SmartThings to adjust and control your entire soundbar. You will be able to adjust all settings including changing the different sound modes, bass, and treble levels, and adjust the 7-band equalizer.

      If you prefer to use the provided soundbar remote, you can access all of these same settings as well.

      To optimize your audio experience, please try the various sound modes this model offers. Press the SOUND MODE button on your remote, and then select your desired sound effect: SURROUND, GAME, STANDARD, ADAPTIVE SOUND, DTS VIRTUAL:X. When you press the SOUND MODE button it will change to the different modes in the above order.

      By pressing the TONE CONTROL button, you can adjust the volume of the treble or bass sound. The desired item can be adjusted using the Up/Down buttons.

      When you press the CH LEVEL button on the remote, you can adjust the volume of the CENTER or FRONT TOP LEVEL channels using the UP/DOWN buttons between -6 to +6.

      Press and hold the SOUND CONTROL button for about 5 seconds to adjust the sound for each frequency band. 150Hz, 300Hz, 600Hz, 1.2kHz, 2.5kHz, 5kHz, and 10kHz are selectable using the Left/Right buttons and each can be adjusted to a setting between -6 to +6 using the Up/Down buttons. (Make sure the Sound mode is set to "Standard".

    Experienced connection issues using the Wi-Fi option which is strange since this seems to be targeted for the Frame TV where you want to eliminate wires. Also the power cable is now long enough for that application as wheel.

      If you have connected your Soundbar using 2.4Ghz, try using a 5Ghz band if your router has the ability to use this signal. It will offer a stronger and more stable connection.

      We do recommend that you have a router within the same room as the soundbar for the best connection as well. Any walls, ceiling or floors the Wi-Fi signal has to travel through will weaken the signal.

      Always make sure that your soundbar is on the latest firmware as this offers the latest improvements available to the unit. You can easily update your soundbar using SmartThings from your iOS or Android device.

    This thing is JUNK!!!! As soon as the return period ended, dialogue and menu chimes started sounding distorted. I sent it back to Samsung under warranty. Samsung gaslit me saying it had no issues then replaced some driver and sent it back. They sent it back and it sounded okay for a day or two and then sounded distorted again. I sent it back and they said it is fine. Now they are saying it is fine but to get some hdmi adapter. The area near the mini hdmi port(poor design choise imo) is noticeably warm and the speakers in that reason sound t buzzy. Samsung insists it is both fine and needs an adapter and there is interference? Logically impossible. Using Bluetooth in produces the same issue. It’s not the hdmi cable, but probably the heat around the ports causing the speakers to distort. It was expensive and sucks. I will not buy Samsung again after this this fiasco.

      Thank you for your review of Samsung’s HW-S800B soundbar. I’m sorry to hear you had a frustrating experience with a distorted sound coming from your soundbar, but we greatly appreciate you bringing this issue to our attention.

      There are a few steps you can take to troubleshoot your Soundbar.

      First, try doing a soft reset, unplug the soundbar from the outlet for roughly 30 seconds and then plug it back in.

      Next, update the firmware on your soundbar. The easiest way to accomplish this would be to download the SmartThings app and connect your Soundbar to Wi-Fi. This will allow you to not only download any firmware updates but also control your entire soundbar on the screen of your smart device.

      Please also verify that you are running the latest firmware on your TV. You can check to see what software version your TV is using and if there is an available update through the settings on your TV. Go to: Menu > Settings > Support > Software Update.

      If this still does not correct your issue, then do a hard reset. With the Soundbar on, press the + & - Volume buttons on the body of the soundbar at the same time for at least 5 seconds. The LED display changes as follows: White moves from left to right and right to left, and the middle LED blinks Cyan 3 times. Then the middle LED will blink RED and turn off.

    The sound bar looks great as it's very thin and modern and design. But the price tag is not reflective value of this sound bar. It has one too few channels and does not fill the room with quality sound as described. I had tried it in a roughly 200 ft room which is not huge by any means so it should not have had any difficulty in filling the room with surround sound especially with the TV that I purchased which was a q900b with the ability of Q Symphony.
