An Excellent Netbook ChoicePosted .
I got this netbook after returning a defective Samsung 150 Plus. I wouldn't pay $350 for the 210 (the price Best Buy is asking as of this review), but for the price I paid, it was an incredible deal. So many pros: --2.7 pounds means it's very portable, can easily take it anywhere --chiclet style keyboard is easier to use for me than the 150's regular style keyboard (and I think it's also more attractive) --screen display is great - one professional reviewer said the colors looked washed out, but they look absolutely great to me; matte screen means you can see it well even outside in sunny conditions --decent battery life, although if you're using it almost exclusively to watch videos on the go, as I do, you definitely won't get anywhere near the battery life Samsung claims --machine feels sturdy and well-made, although only time will tell --I like that it comes in white! (just a personal preference though) Cons: subpar webcam - very choppy performance; I would use this webcam as only a last resort ---audio quality is pretty good, but not loud enough, even on the highest setting; need earphones for this netbook if not in a quiet room ---1 gig memory is not enough, although this is true for all netbooks with only 1 gig - upgrading to 2 gigs is a must (you'll definitely see the change in performance, even if only browsing), and not that expensive either; I got a 2 gig chip from Crucial for less than $40, and if you have a tiny size Phillips screwdriver, it's the simplest thing in the world to install ---setup is long - over an hour! make sure you partition the hard dive exactly how you want it, as you only get one chance, and if you want to change it later, you'll have to back everything up, download software, etc ---WIndows 7 Starter os - don't get me started on this! Why can't we have a choice between 7 starter and XP? For light use, 7 Starter is ok, but anything more needs a full os. For shame, Microsoft! For anyone wondering why they can't change their wallpaper, it's because 7 Starter has disabled that function, and has nothing to do with the netbook itself; and if you're wondering why you can't watch dvds with an external drive, it's because they disabled that too, and you'll need to download something like vlc player ---Samsung's utilities are not always the most intuitive, however, the user guide is good and is right there on the desktop for you to easily refer to ---no dvd drive, although this is also true of every other netbook I've seen Summing up, the price I paid would be great for any netbook with these specs, however I really do like the Samsung 210, and think it's an excellent choice - a nice combo of good looks and great function.I would recommend this to a friend

The keyboard is amazing! i love it. it works perfectly with my fingers. the netbook has the standard windows lag but then again im used to a mac. but this is very convenient! thea battery seems to me amazing and the wifi works fairly good but does seem to have an issue every now and then. webcam is a bit choppy but it will still get the job done. over all i would say this is the best netbook to have right now.I would recommend this to a friend
