Samsung - Notebook 9 spin 13.3" Touch-Screen Laptop - Intel Core i7 - 8GB Memory - 256GB Solid State Drive - Pure Black. Laptop has been functioning good so far. I’ve had it for 4 months. Not enough ram. Very pricey.

As others have stated, the battery is pretty weak and gets only 3-4 hrs. Otherwise the specs are good. Mine also had loose folding screen and will need to be repaired.

I loved the the graphics on the screen and it was so light weight, but it was also very slooow (starting up, charging, download) and I was also disappointed in the speakers. (My camera was also not working)

I love this laptop! After purchasing and having to return the Lenovo 900 and the HP Spectre x360 I was so happy to find this one. The Lenovo 900 had hardware issues from day one and The HP Spectre got too hot to handle comfortably even when I was wasn't running anything heavy on it. This Samsung Notebook 9 Spin has been a pleasure to own, just a couple of updates as expected and that is it. The battery could be better, so far I have been able to get about 4 hours, but it really isn't a problem for me since I usually work with it plugged in anyway. The look and feel is great. Although the other two machines mentioned are beautiful they don't feel as solid as the Samsung 9 Spin especially the Lenovo 900 since the feel is more like plastic and the screen seems so fragile I was always afraid to crack it. Overall this is definitely a better choice for me.

I bought this computer to replace my 2011 MacBook Pro. I wanted a Windows laptop for school and work related purposes and I didn't need the performance from a quad core processor. I wanted something from a company with a good reputation for making high quality computers. This laptop has been good so far. The entire body of the computer feels and looks really good. The metal is easy to clean when you get dust and finger prints on it. The screen hinges are extremely smooth, and the overall design of the computer is excellent. The keyboard feels good when typing on it and the touchpad is really smooth and responsive. MacBook's are known for their excellent touchpads and Windows laptops are known for their horrible attempts at making touchpads. I would rate a MacBook a 10/10 for touchpads and this laptop a 8/10. The battery life is ok. I typically get 6 hours of use from browsing the Internet and watching videos. I imagine decreasing the screen resolution to 1080p would probably give you another hour or so. Also conditioning and power cycling the battery should increase the battery life overtime as well. A few things worth noting, the USB ports are EXTREMELEY tight. I interned as a computer technician for 6 months and I have built my own gaming desktops for years and I have never encountered something like this. The amount of force required to put a standard USB drive in made me uncomfortable at first. Maybe they will loosen up as I use them more. I also replaced the SSD with a m.2 500 GB Samsung 850 EVO, and noticed that Samsung uses a company I have never heard of before for their stock drive in this computer. I have no idea why, considering Samsung owns one of the best consumer SSD lines in the world. Regardless, swapping it out was relatively simple assuming you have basic computer knowledge and can do a little online research.

    Best Alternative to Macbooks

Purchased this machine after reading about in the world of tech news. I've been looking for a portable windows machine, and the requirements were: the new Skylake, minimum 8GB RAM, and a killer trackpad. The Samsung Ativ Spin gave me all of that with an addition of a ridiculously awesome touchscreen. Here are my pros and cons: PROS: Again, trackpad is so smooth. I have a MBP 13 Retina, and it is very very close to the Macs trackpad. The two finger scroll is probably the most used gesture and it is nearly identical to my MacBook Pro. Super snappy. The moment I open this machine it boots and logs in. Probably in the 5 - 10 second range, and even quicker from sleep (another cool feature is you can open the laptop with one hand, similar to the MacBook pro). Typing is very comfortable and touch screen is smooth as butter. CONS: Battery life. I get about 4 - 5 hours, but during heavy use with the brightest screen and music playing in the background, its closer to 3.5 - 4 hours. The yellow is a little off, not sure how to fix it at the moment. OVERALL: Its a great portable machine on the pricey side. But the laptop feels and IS premium. If you're a hardcore photographer or video editor, this machine is NOT for you. For a student or the businessman or woman using Office, music, browsing, watching a couple flicks, this is a good system.

I purchased 3 laptops until I found the Right One: this Samsung, the HP x360 13.3 in silver, and the Dell Inspiron 13 i7359-8408. The Dell and the HP were both GREAT deals, but the Samsung was the one I ended up keeping. Here's why: OBE The Samsung was the best Out-of-box experience. After a lightning fast update, it was good to go, lickety-split. Easy. The Dell and the HP both took what seemed like forever to get it up and running. The Dell kept dropping the wi-fi which required a tedious removal and download of the driver. But the HP was even worse in the time it took to update and reupdate. Well over an hour. When you spend that amount of money, it's frustrating to have to invest that much time just to get a new computer to work correctly. The Samsung was a delight. WEIGHT Samsung was noticably the lightest of the 3. The Samsung is a pleasure to carry around. It's light, but still sturdy. FIT & FINISH The Dell keyboard and overall materials felt cheap. The HP had rough metal edges; it was uncomfortable on my wrists. Holding it in tablet mode is even more uncomfortable for this reason. The HP I bought was all silver, with silver keys with light blue letters. As someone who is a poor typist, I need to be able to easily see the keys; the light blue on silver did not provide enough contrast to easily read the keys, especially in dimmer lighting. The HP keyboard itself felt satisfying to use, so competent typists may not mind the silver keys. (The HP is also offered in a darker color which was significantly more expensive). AUDIO-VISUAL Both the audio and screen quality were noticably superior on the Samsung. The Samsung's screen is stunning. BATTERY LIFE The Samsung's battery life is unimpressive but not a dealbreaker. I knew this when I bought it and I felt its advantages outweighed this one weakness. SUMMARY I've been enjoying the Samsung and ultimately decided that it was worth the extra $300 over the HP and $400 over the Dell for something I will use daily for years. I hope this review helps those in the market for an ultrabook facing a similar buying decision.

Pros + Premium build + Responsive touch pad + Fast and responsive operation + Beautiful Screen + Works perfectly as a laptop and very well as a tablet Cons - Battery life Really loving this laptop. I wanted both a laptop and tablet and I was looking at a Surface Pro for a while, but realized that I was more interested in a laptop that could also be a tablet and not a tablet that could also be a laptop. This has a very premium feel (as the price suggests) and I also find the touch pad to be very responsive. The computer turns on in seconds and it easily performs tasks without lag. That being said, if you're on-the-go a lot and expect to be away from an outlet for long, I wouldn't expect it to last too long. I've only had the laptop for a couple of days so far, but I'm guessing the battery life is somewhere around 6 or 7 hours tops.

This was a work purchase. However just to check it out I ran netflix and world of warcraft on this to see how i would handle a little more stress on the machine. With only Chrome open for email and google drive/docs etc. I got about 5 hours of use. With Netflix, I got about 3 hours of use on 3 different occasions. With world of warcraft, 1.5 hours. Allthough this is a great laptop, It just wasn't for me. I need something that can last long flight or long day at the office. OH... Also runs hot as fire when doing anything other than light chrome use. Using youtube caused this bad boy to flare up, not to mention when It took on Netflix or W.O.W. If I had to guess it was somewhere around 140 degrees on the bottom, maybe 150 on the keyboard. Noticeably hot! Design: 9/10. ( Power button is just in a bad spot to me, Several times trying to pick the laptop up I would hit the power button, especially in tablet mode. Display: 10/10. Great colors, noticeably better than any laptop I have or have had. QHD Keyboard: Great little tactile keyboard, Easy to use and just the right amount of travel in such a small layout. Ports: 8/10 . 3 USB 3.0, 1 HDMI, Micro Sd slot, headphone jack. Weight : 10/10. great performance out of a light laptop. Samsung: Put more effort into increasing this batteries life, and keeping the temperature low. Otherwise outstanding work. However returning to find something that suits my needs a little more.

I purchased this as well as the HP Spectre x360. Overall the Samsung is a better machine. It's lighter, brighter, and sounds better. Oh and it has anti-glare coating, unlike the vast majority of 2-in-1's. I also like the fact that the trackpad is smaller than the HP's. Seriously, nobody needs a trackpad that big. A smaller trackpad is better so that your palms don't interfere with it. Compared to the HP, the Samsung's keyboard is lighter to the touch, but the space bar is a bit noisier. The only thing I don't like is the finish. Flat black is so 2005. And it feels too slippery, like a non-stick pan. I prefer a little more feel on the trackpad. This trackpad has no feel whatsoever. The battery life has been about 4-7 hours for me. But it all depends on your CPU usage and your brightness level, so you can't compare one person to another. By the way, I'm not sure why this purchase doesn't show up in my My Best Buy account. When I went to the cashier I didn't have my membership number but I gave him my email address and he was able to find me and read my name on his system, so why didn't I get credit for this purchase?
