    Great SDR, HDR is broken

    This would be an amazing monitor if the HDR worked in gaming. SDR content looks great, fast response times in games. I run 144hz mode with a HDMI 2.1 cable then have a display port to HDMI connected the samsung Dolby atmos sound bar, due to this reason I can't run this at 240hz, however 144hz is more then enough for me. Now for the big negative, as mentioned before the HDR in gaming is all washed out, even in windows everything is washed out. Playing HDR video works, but that's it. Now if this monitor was $1000 or $1500 I might say it's worth it, but as of now, it's not. When the big selling point is HDR gaming and it doesn't even work that's a big red flag. I'm hoping this gets fixed in a software update, but not holding my breath. I may take this back and get the Asus PG35VQ, although I do love the 32:9 aspect ratio but the broken HDR is almost a deal breaker. 3 Stars because the SDR performance is excellent, if HDR in gaming worked 5 stars easy. For this reason at this high price point I can not recommend this product.

    Cool monitor.. Not Perfect.. But Cool...

    Was first in line on July 29th to preorder the Samsung Odyssey Neo G9 monitor. It looks great in my office and it's fun to game on. This monitor is being supported by the following equipment: FE GTX 3080Ti (472.12 driver) Intel i9-11900K / MSI z590 64GB Memory Windows 11 I'm also running a LG 39inch Ultrawide and a Samsung 29inch 4K UHD monitor (3 monitors total) There are some issues that I think will be (hope?) will be resolved with firmware and or driver updates. Issues: 1) Screen frequently goes blank and then back on when adjusting brightness in some games running HDR where Windows HDR is being used. Unsure if this is because of Windows HDR or the monitor itelf. The problem was extreme in firmware 1004 and made slightly better in 1006. 2) When multiple monitors are attached, the screen does not activate during reboot. It does not matter which display port on the video card the G9 monitor is in. I have to manually unplug the G9 monitor from the video card, let the monitors resize and then plug the G9 monitor back in to get a picture. 3) The Firmware process is a little cumbersome. If you are using the USB ports and trying to do a Firmware upgrade, the instructions are not clear about the fact that nothing else can be attached to the USB connections. As for the HDR issues that everyone else is complaining about, it's possible I just don't know what HDR looks like. So I have no reference point. I haven't seen an issue. But I'm not an authority figure onit. But, this monitor is beautiful in my opinion. The games are bright and crisp, 240Hz no issue. I've gotten to about 230 FPS in Call of Duty (had to do some extreme cooling on the card to get temps down). I do wish to some extent this was a full 4K resolution, but that hasn't stopped me from enjoying it.

    Almost Amazing...

    The Star Rating is based on the price of the monitor. I do really like this display, its bright with great color and blacks (HDR Mode). But there are so many bugs. A dark window on the edge of the screen in 240hz non-hdr mode can cause tiny horizontal black bars across the entire monitor. I am sure there is more, but thats the one I notice the most often - I'd expect for $2500 a near perfect monitor. Mine did come with a defect in the bottom right side, there is an area that color is tinted with a brownish-yellow - about the size of 3 quarters at its worst, and 1 quarter - and sometimes its not there at all. If I apply a slight pressure to the plastic frame, sometimes it will go away. So a big pro, I called support and once they saw the pictures they submitted for in house service, so they show up and inspect/repair/replace without having to deal with re-packing this monitor - unpacking and setting up is very nerve racking, its large and awkward to move around. HDR Gaming is awesome, NFS Heat, Cyberpunk look AMAZING, 240hz with g-sync/freesync works perfectly. This monitor gets so bright, that it can hurt your eyes when you walk outside (like real life). Once they resolve the defect, and the firmware issues, I think this will be one of the best TRUE HDR monitors out there.

Despite being an expensive $2,000 monitor, it disappointingly suffers from problems that were already prevalent two years ago. One of the significant drawbacks I encountered upon receiving the product was the presence of faint gray vertical lines. These lines become clearly visible in white spaces, detracting from the overall visual experience. It's disheartening to witness such a prominent flaw in a high-end monitor, especially at this price point. Furthermore, the Odyssey Neo G9 continues to exhibit problems with its horizontal lines on specific aspects.     A beautiful screen plagued with problems

    This was a beautiful screen the only thing was it has bad inline issues at 2:40 also when you click on and off from another tab you can see the whole color shift from brake to dark or dark to bring as well when on 240 it seemed to have some problems running I would sometimes get black screening for no reason I had to unplug a lot of things from the back to get it to work right using a soundbar with this as well at 2:40 is not going to happen this would be a keeper if it was at $1,500 but almost $3,000 with taxes made me return this if it drops in price to $1,500 I will be picking up another one for now I recommend buying the C1 from the LG much better spend for your money

    This one is a doozy. Let me start off by saying it looks great. It just does. There is no way to deny that, but not every game can take advantage of that. Some games already don’t natively support ultra wide, let alone ULTRA wide. So often times you have black bars or just a poor experience in general. If it worked all the time, I’d say it’s worth it. But for me, I couldn’t use it.

    Pretty awesome, but not perfect yet. Wait for the technology to mature a bit. At this price point, this monitor has to be near perfection to justify its expense, and Samsung hasn’t achieved that here. Will be returning. Make sure your GPU has the grunt to display this many pixels at such a high refresh rate

    I upgraded to the neo from a chg90 and the picture quality was a huge upgrade, obviously going from 1080p to 1440p that is to be expected. One issue I was worried about was screen flickering that has been an issue from launch. I thought this would be resolved by the time of me purchasing the monitor a year and a half after it was initially launched but I had the same issue. After speaking with Samsung it is a known issue that they are working on but for 2500$ there is no excuse.

    SDR content is magnificent on this monitor, for productivity use and non HDR gaming it's the best I've seen. HDR Gaming has glaring issues, without heavy modification of the contrast, gamma and brightness values in Nvidia Control panel HDR is very washed out. I was able to get my unit to something somewhat acceptable and comparable to an LG C9. Dark scenes look great too as the Local dimming works great but only in HDR when forced to On. Since this is advertised as an HDR 2000nit monitor but it's main selling point clearly needs some more quality control I would say hold off on purchasing this until Samsung fixes it.

    Is it really worth it?

    This monitor keeps having issues with the Display Port and I have to remove and reconnect the display port cable from the video card (GTX 3080 TI) to reconnect every day or two. You have to pull the plastic from the back to access the video ports. I have even had to reset the monitor a few times. It isn't the type of PLUG AND PLAY we would expect at this price point. I have attempted to troubleshoot this with the graphics card but even with all the latest drivers we continue to have issues. Unless you have a specific case use for the monitor I would save the money and buy TWO 27-inch monitors.

    Best for lightweight use

    Simple design. Very light. Easy to install handles. Best for light use. I will most likely need to upgrade to something more durable in the future. It did come with noticeable white scratch marks that I have not been able to get out.

    Great Monitor with some Flaws

    Got this monitor to get rid of the two I had for work and games. This monitor is amazing for work as it has enough screen room to just use it as two 27in monitors. There is some downsides to this monitor cons: 1st is the stand for this monitor is really bad. This stand makes the screen wobble with the siltiest touch and can get quite annoying and noticeable. The fact to replace it is insane as a vesta stand for it is over $300 bucks. 2nd: When playing games I notice most that on the edges of the screen it will make things look closer then it is. For example in warzone if you see a player running from the side of your screen they will look way closer and when you turn towards them you will notice they were not as close as it looks. Some may not mind this and some may. I returned mine as the stand and the close edge issue was a kill for me. I got this at $1400 but not going to pay another $300 to get rid of the wobble issue with the stand.

    The monito itself is great with a few draw backs that prevents it from hitting 4 or 5 stars. The stand could have been designed differently to take less room. Also when in full screen, the screen will glitch to a dark screen, would flicker between two displays, and also has portions of the left screen boarder flicker.

    Loved this whenever it worked. The first two weeks were great than the panel died after my return period. Took two-three months for Samsung to fix it and it replaced it with a new one. Now it’s failing again ugh

    This is an amazing product. It really changes the way you use a monitor. The only disadvantage of this is that there isn't any sound output. You must have a speaker or rely on your PC to produce sound. I would expect something this big to produce sound.

    Randomly get black screens and unknown reason. Can be outdated drivers or Nvidia doesn’t support dual monitor with this size.
