Very Good Value on sale. It does take a while to tune and set the colors, brightness, etc, correctly. When used with my computer the colors and brightness are more than enough for my use. I used a oled before and must say that this competes. The blacks are close enough that to me I don't mind. It gets brighter and the PC recognized the 144 hz right away. I keep it on game mode with response time set to faster (extreme dims the screen horribly) I would strongly recommend playing with the settings until you are satisfied. The ghosting levels for the use case that I do is not significant enough for it to really bother me. Overall I think this is a perfect all round pc/gaming monitor. I would only buy it on sell though.
Also I love the white on the back. I wish it was on display better, but alas most people will have it facing the wall like I do.

Great Monitor & SmartTV replacement when on Sale!

Read the reviews, Check the specs. Know what you're buying before hand and make sure you only buy this 43" SmartMonitor when its ~on-sale~
On-sale, This monitor is amazing for its price, I picked mine up for 500$ during Black Friday sales and it has been great both as a Gaming Monitor and a SmartTV equivalent.
Despite being a VA panel, The ghosting effect from using a VA panel is actually surprisingly tolerable and isn't really too bad at all until you come down to 60fps or lower in games.
Contrast and Colors are great, Movies look awesome on the monitor, HDR honestly is really not that bad in my room most the time, And for the price I can't complain. Local dimming is sort-of lackluster but I like having it on more than not, It isn't that noticeable most the time when gaming but I see no reason why they couldn't add roughly twice the individual backlight diodes as they probably would hardly add to cost at all.
Some drawn(cartoon-like) shows such as Rick & Morty sometimes it seems like certain pixels have a hard time keeping up in certain types of frames within very specific scenes and these sets of pixels seem to lag behind the rest, Almost exclusively when the specific scene doesn't have many frames to display. -For example with Rick & Morty, There are scenes where Rick and/or Morty may walk from one edge of the screen to the other and the animators only "drew" a handful of frames to animate them walking to the other side of the screen, And the low number of drawn frames seem to potentially "confuse" certain pixel groups on where they should be relative to the rest of the screen?
The monitor has a metric ton of cool features. The Smart functions work great and are easy to navigate and are reasonably/usably responsive. The remote also has a rechargeable built in battery that uses USB-C and is a nice & simple no frills use remote.
Certain display modes or changes to the data sent to the monitor had caused the monitor to glitch out before sometimes depending on what the video data and resolution being transferred was but there may have been a software update that fixed this issue? Its been working great for several weeks now.
At 500$, It was worth every dime. I don't think any of the issues are nearly as big a problem in 2023 than they may have been before.
I really hope that Samsung continues to improve on this monitor as they are extremely close to having an unbelievably great monitor that bridges the gap between Monitor and TV and if they can do this and lower the regular price to compete with other large screen High Refresh Rate monitors while still providing SmartTV functionality, I think Samsung will really hit a niche that would be very difficult to fill or compete within.

Hesitant but Happy

I've seen nothing but terrible reviews for this monitor which made me add and remove it from my cart multiple times during the sale. Why would this be 50% off when all of the specifications were double anything else within the same size and price range. Well, I'm a Best Buy Total Rewards Member and one of the benefits is that I have support to help address any issues with my purchase. I took the chance and after a few weeks, I'm happy that I bought this monitor. I had been holding out for an LG because I really wanted a Thunderbolt connection for my Mac but running my Mac through the Display Port is awesome because I'm getting 120 hz and I'm happy. Not that my eyes would really notice but I'm happy when I see that number in my settings. I use this primarily for work so my work laptop is pushing 60 hz through the HDMI and again, it looks great. I was hesitant about purchasing such a large screen since we've always been told not to sit so close to a TV but wow, work is so much better when you have room to really work. I'm hoping I don't experience issues later with the screen or the software slowdown but that's what my total reward membership is there for. I have my Nintendo Switch hooked up to the last HDMI and wow, it's beautiful to play games with. I don't use the smart functions but I can see how this acting as a TV first might annoy people. it's only an extra click so don't let that deter you. I think I'm driving this monitor to the least of its capabilities so I think the more I use it, the better it's going to be. Take the chance, at $500, you can't beat it.

I use this monitor mainly for work, and the size and resolution are the main reasons I bought it. The 43-inch 4K screen gives me plenty of space to keep multiple windows open at once without everything feeling cramped. Text is sharp, and it’s easy to work on documents, spreadsheets, and dashboards for long periods.
The Mini-LED panel gets bright and handles office lighting well, and the screen stays clear even when displaying lots of content at once. Having this much screen real estate has noticeably improved my workflow since I’m not constantly switching between windows or virtual desktops.
Despite being a gaming monitor, it works very well as a productivity display. The refresh rate makes scrolling feel smoother, and FreeSync hasn’t caused any issues when connected to my work setup. Setup was straightforward, and the stand feels stable for a monitor this size.
It does take up a good amount of desk space, so you’ll want to measure first, but once it’s set up it’s hard to go back to a smaller screen. If you need a large, high-resolution display for work and multitasking, this has been a solid choice for me.

Great monitor for size. Takes a little time to setup brightness/contrast but its worth it. If you're trying to decide between this or 32in version that has 240 Hz refresh pick 32. I've had both and if you have hardware to support 240 it's better. Last thing, get a big table because you need to push monitor back a ways or you will get motion sickness.

Typing this review on this monitor right now, it's massive and beautiful. Feels almost like a TV at this size and with the remote. It does have a lot of tv like features that are entirely optional and should be no problem if youre not looking to use them. However if you are its a ton of other smart tv features when you take a break from your PC. Best buy had the best price by far and super fast shipping that arrived in perfect condition.

I got one of these open box for $400 and another for $300. For the price point at the value is nuts. I am a software developer, and because of the true RGB subpixels, this is an awesome all-day driver. This is one of the only screens I have EVER found that doesn't hurt my eyes after all day use. I used this next to a 55 inch samsung TV crystal UHD and this won easily. I also game and this screen is plenty fast at 144hz unless for all but the most discerning fps competitve gamers. I understand that some of the early models had a different panel under a different SKU that was laggier, but this isn't (shouldn't be) that. My first open box screen was missing a screw to the mount that I never bothered tracking down, but for the price -- no worries.

Super crisp image and keeps up with high end PS5 Pro graphics without missing a beat, no screen tearing, or lag. It is the perfect size for a smaller bedroom/office/man cave gaming. Even though it is a Monitor, it comes with built in features that make it almost a hybrid Smart TV/Monitor.

This monitor is BIG! Too bad they sold out fast before I could get another one. There are lots of bells and whistles, and the 4K picture looks like an OLED display. When I'm not gaming, I use it as a regular 4K TV since it has popular streaming apps. I love the fact that you can pass through Dolby Atmos to a soundbar. I have it connected to my Bose 900 smart soundbar, which I use as my computer speakers. It was a Best Buy that I couldn't just let slip away. Thanks, Best Buy!

Good with some drawbacks

This is probaly one of the more mixed reviews I have had on a monitor. On one hand the picture quality and features of this display are far above most other $500 monitors and tvs. Your probaly not going to find a tv with mini led backlighting , vrr , 144hz , hdmi 2.1 and amd freesync at this pricerange. Plus the 43 inch size makes this far more immersive than most other gaming monitors. I have no trouble seeing the whole screen from my viewing distance. However samsungs decision to go with a va panel really holds this display back. The black smear on this display is very obvious. Especially when scrolling down with white text and a black background. While this is a drawback of va panels and not this display itself , I really think that considering this panel is being marketed as a premium pc display , having an ips panel on this should not have been too difficult. Even if the cost of this monitor would have to go up by 100 to 200 bucks it would have been worth it. The hdr on this display is also pretty lackluster. It's hard for me to recommend using it. One postive of this display tho is the black levels. With some setting changes you can get pretty good blacks however at the cost of severe black crush. There also is some noticeable blooming on the display , however its at a level thats acceptable. If you mostly use your computer for entertainment I think the display is fine. However if you plan to use this monitor for work I would find something else. My only real other complaint is the remote is pretty bad. Missed and duplicated inputs are pretty common. Its not like samsung couldn't've put a better remote in the box. I paired my solar cell remote I got from my q60a tv a few years ago and ive had no issues whatsoever.

Its solid for the sale price of $500.00. Set up didnt take as long as online reviews indicate, but yes, since it functions as a smart monitor, expect updates and connection setups. But setup was intiuitive and easy.
Theres some dimming issues noticable when not in game when comparing edges to center- probably correctable in a setting, but not too big of deal.
As a primary 4k gaming panel, its hard to compete with a $500.00 price point at 43".

Monitor TV Meshed together - but glitchy

This 43" monitor is replacing my 30" Asus that has started bleeding through the edges of the screen after many years of use. I like the increased size but it's taking a bit of getting used to. It doesn't have the ability to be moved up and down with the included stand. It's okay but if anything is in front of it on my desk, the bottom of the screen is blocked. And that is where most of the OS menus are launched.
The monitor has ability to be connected to internet directly and it includes free television content that can be streamed with the included Samsung app. Streaming apps can be installed directly onto the monitor. It has more smart functions to it than any other monitor I've owned. It has plenty of connections in the back (hdmi and DP included - and it can connect to devices wirelessly. I connected a computer wirelessly and it may work for streaming content, but there is too much lag to use that way as a computer monitor. I struggled clicking buttons and selecting text etc - the lag was too prominent to move cursers accurately.
I reverted to cables. The monitor is on the very back of my desk and I have a pull out keyboard slide, so I sit back about 3.5 ft from the monitor. The monitor defaults to a 3x zoom - that made video sort of jerky motion and lost some of the benefit of being able to work in multiple apps at once. After resizing things, I see text fine and had no quality issues you sometimes see with televisions displaying mushy text. Everything is crisp.
I am recommending the unit with reservations. I feel like it's a good value but I don't trust this unit to last. It appears to control its digital signal on screen as multiple smaller squares. If I were to guess, there may be about 30 smaller frames within the entire monitor surface. Those separate, in-frame squares flash from time to time - occasionally 2 or 3 will flash at once. And then sometimes the entire screen blacks out momentarily which causes all content to pause for a half a second until the screen returns.
I tried to locate the cause on the Samsung site but haven't found a fix. The Asus was easy to use - just plug and go. This one takes some work to set up - I'm not using it to game so I turned those features off. I still have the issue.
I may have a faulty unit, or there may be some minimum computer needed to push the unit. I feel like unit has available settings that the monitor doesn't have sufficient computing power to push. It's possible it needs a heftier graphics card on a computer - mine has an onboard graphics card.
Another item is that with all the features come complication. The monitor blurs the line between a smart tv and a monitor. It has more settings than I have time to fidget with - I've been changing things for a few hours just to get the flashing to stop - unsuccessfully.
The application that runs all this is fairly clunky to use. It is not intuitive and the remote should have more buttons. I think it requires the remote to switch between onboard TV streaming to using a computer input as a source. When using it, it is no easy feat to switch between TV mode and to select the DP connection as source. Every other device I've used has made this easier. How Samsung made this so unintuitive is surprising to me.
There are likely easier ways to navigate, but nothing is pointing to me to it and this thing has a mini computer running the streaming service - so they could have added a get started menu. The help guide is hard to use also - when it instructs how to try to correct things, it is VERY generic so you have to research elsewhere how to change settings. I feel like I might figure out settings that work, but it may be months to find them.

Phenomenal screen. Please use the right cable and understand the size of this thing. If you are sitting at a small desk and want to use this, you will be using your neck a lot to take it all in and may burn your eyes a bit. I had to push it farther back in order to properly view it's majesty. I've fiddled with the options a lot already, and I think I'm not nearly done. Don't believe the hate reviews. I have no regrets with this purchase and will gladly mess with the advanced settings to get exactly what I want. The Odyssey Rules! oh this was for the 43 inch G7 by the way... I'm writing this because I don't want someone to see it cheaper than a smaller similar spec and expect it to be a steal. Picture is amazing and works great for Sim Racing or as a really high refresh rate TV, but as a monitor it lacks the ability to stay on if you are trying to boot to BIOS, or have ultimate control over refresh rate and response time. Too big in my opinion for a desk monitor. if I was in need of a TV that has smart features and I wanted 4K 120Hz to play my xbox on as well then it is perfect.

While the "monitor" works well with respect to the image being displayed, it is a royal nightmare each and every time you have to turn it back on via the remote controller. In other words, it makes you have to work to scroll through choices just to get back to the computer, rather than TV choices and other fluff that I'm not interested in even using. What used to be... boot up the computer, and on comes the monitor, is no longer the case. It's like shoving an pop-up ad in my face I don't want to see, and then it struggles to do the simple task of TURNING THE DESKTOP ON VISUALLY.
