I'm writing this because I don't want someone to see it cheaper than a smaller similar spec and expect it to be a steal. Picture is amazing and works great for Sim Racing or as a really high refresh rate TV, but as a monitor it lacks the ability to stay on if you are trying to boot to BIOS, or have ultimate control over refresh rate and response time. Too big in my opinion for a desk monitor. if I was in need of a TV that has smart features and I wanted 4K 120Hz to play my xbox on as well then it is perfect.

Monitor TV Meshed together - but glitchy

This 43" monitor is replacing my 30" Asus that has started bleeding through the edges of the screen after many years of use. I like the increased size but it's taking a bit of getting used to. It doesn't have the ability to be moved up and down with the included stand. It's okay but if anything is in front of it on my desk, the bottom of the screen is blocked. And that is where most of the OS menus are launched. The monitor has ability to be connected to internet directly and it includes free television content that can be streamed with the included Samsung app. Streaming apps can be installed directly onto the monitor. It has more smart functions to it than any other monitor I've owned. It has plenty of connections in the back (hdmi and DP included - and it can connect to devices wirelessly. I connected a computer wirelessly and it may work for streaming content, but there is too much lag to use that way as a computer monitor. I struggled clicking buttons and selecting text etc - the lag was too prominent to move cursers accurately. I reverted to cables. The monitor is on the very back of my desk and I have a pull out keyboard slide, so I sit back about 3.5 ft from the monitor. The monitor defaults to a 3x zoom - that made video sort of jerky motion and lost some of the benefit of being able to work in multiple apps at once. After resizing things, I see text fine and had no quality issues you sometimes see with televisions displaying mushy text. Everything is crisp. I am recommending the unit with reservations. I feel like it's a good value but I don't trust this unit to last. It appears to control its digital signal on screen as multiple smaller squares. If I were to guess, there may be about 30 smaller frames within the entire monitor surface. Those separate, in-frame squares flash from time to time - occasionally 2 or 3 will flash at once. And then sometimes the entire screen blacks out momentarily which causes all content to pause for a half a second until the screen returns. I tried to locate the cause on the Samsung site but haven't found a fix. The Asus was easy to use - just plug and go. This one takes some work to set up - I'm not using it to game so I turned those features off. I still have the issue. I may have a faulty unit, or there may be some minimum computer needed to push the unit. I feel like unit has available settings that the monitor doesn't have sufficient computing power to push. It's possible it needs a heftier graphics card on a computer - mine has an onboard graphics card. Another item is that with all the features come complication. The monitor blurs the line between a smart tv and a monitor. It has more settings than I have time to fidget with - I've been changing things for a few hours just to get the flashing to stop - unsuccessfully. The application that runs all this is fairly clunky to use. It is not intuitive and the remote should have more buttons. I think it requires the remote to switch between onboard TV streaming to using a computer input as a source. When using it, it is no easy feat to switch between TV mode and to select the DP connection as source. Every other device I've used has made this easier. How Samsung made this so unintuitive is surprising to me. There are likely easier ways to navigate, but nothing is pointing to me to it and this thing has a mini computer running the streaming service - so they could have added a get started menu. The help guide is hard to use also - when it instructs how to try to correct things, it is VERY generic so you have to research elsewhere how to change settings. I feel like I might figure out settings that work, but it may be months to find them.

I’m running this to my MacM4. Love the screen. I tried the HDMI to smart TV option and it was too much of a hassle. Upgraded to a very quality HDMI cable to make this work. But no problem and resolution is way better than prior monitors I had.

The Displayport stopped working after one day. Good thing it has two HDMI ports. I bought a 4K HDMI auto switch to compensate for the faulty DP. A faulty DP may be a common issue with this model according to other reviews. Samsung QC missed this one. Other than the bad DP the picture quality is very good and the refresh rate really makes a difference. Also the operations manual doesn't give you instructions on how the remote works. Had to figure out that holding the ok button will bring up the settings menu. The remote doesn't have a dedicated menu button.

Phenomenal screen. Please use the right cable and understand the size of this thing. If you are sitting at a small desk and want to use this, you will be using your neck a lot to take it all in and may burn your eyes a bit. I had to push it farther back in order to properly view it's majesty. I've fiddled with the options a lot already, and I think I'm not nearly done. Don't believe the hate reviews. I have no regrets with this purchase and will gladly mess with the advanced settings to get exactly what I want. The Odyssey Rules! oh this was for the 43 inch G7 by the way... I know how they mix up reviews here.

The Godzilla of monitors The enormous and fantastic new Samsung 47” Odyssey Neo G7 Gaming Monitor is worth a look. The world's first dual 4K UHD monitor is this one. A 1000R Quantum Mini-LED screen is featured on it. Equipped with a 144hz refresh rate and a VESA display featuring HDR 1000. There is madness in the 1ms (GTG) Response Time. The Ergonomic Stand is sturdy and simple to adjust. It is swivel and tiltable in height. It's gorgeous and vibrant! I have my PS5 tucked away beind the monitor, mac mini m2 to the left, logitec 4k webcam on top, and it does everyhing i need it to. ( Now my old tv is mounted on the wall and must be thrown away asap )

While the "monitor" works well with respect to the image being displayed, it is a royal nightmare each and every time you have to turn it back on via the remote controller. In other words, it makes you have to work to scroll through choices just to get back to the computer, rather than TV choices and other fluff that I'm not interested in even using. What used to be... boot up the computer, and on comes the monitor, is no longer the case. It's like shoving an pop-up ad in my face I don't want to see, and then it struggles to do the simple task of TURNING THE DESKTOP ON VISUALLY.

The display looks amazing however sometimes I feel like the smart features get in the way of it being a monitor. I would like an ability to turn off the smart features and have it run a stripped down interface. @500 this monitor is a great deal and you can look past some of the annoyances but I would not pay 1k for it. If you are looking for a great gaming monitor that can also be used for day to day work this is a good choice.

Excellent monitor! Make sure your GPU is strong if you want to run it at max resolution. The image quality is exceptional. Works super well with my AMD setup Running RX 7900 & a 7900 XT GPU. The look of the monitor is beautiful, it completely changed my workspace, allowing me to not use two monitors!!! Can easily have two spreadsheets side by side and work between the two. Thing comes with a remote allowing me to switch between work and play very easily. Natively supports the following apps: Netflix, Samsung TV Plus, Prime Video, and Disney +.

Ghosting around the edges can really take the shine off fast-paced content, especially in gaming or when trading windows move rapidly. And yeah, with a flat 43-inch panel, peripheral visibility definitely suffers—your neck ends up doing way more work than it should. The $550 mark might make sense for the Neo G7 if someone’s drawn to its 4K resolution and Smart TV features, but at full retail? You’re wise to be cautious.

The screen is great once set appropriately. I bought an open box model listed as excellent. It was missing the remote, so BestBuy gave me a $40 GC which was cool since that's how much a replacement was on Amazon. Unfortunately, it didn't work. The IR receiver, or whatever the receiver is called for this monitor does not work. I have to use the remote through the phone. Since I have another of these, also the 700 variant, I verified with that unit's remote this one is not working. I guess that's why it was a return. Still works great though while paired to a 5080. Just takes a bit messing around with the settings to get close to OLED blacks. Only 2 stars since if I knew the remote option was dead, I wouldn't have purchased. GeekSquad must have known this or just didn't test it and said (?)... well, no scratches or dead pixels, must be excellent.

To be clear, this is for the 43" Odyssey Neo G7 LS43CG700NNXZA I'm tolerating keeping this "monitor" because the display itself is what you would expect from Samsung: Beautiful colors, sharp 4k, local dimming, silky smooth 144hz, and HUGE for a gaming monitor! Now I've almost returned the monitor numerous times. I bought it for around $500 around Black Friday. Problem 1: It's a TV. yes, its really just a TV and it has the absolutely worse garbage frontend interface. It tries to automatically start playing videos when you turn it on. It's all designed to advertise to you and get you to subscribe to whatever streaming platforms Samsung is supporting. Luckily, there is an option just to go to the last input when turned on. Problem 2: The frontend system is woefully underpowered. I just want to adjust the picture settings on occasion and it is PAINFULLY SLOW. I have to avoid the "gaming bar" feature because it regularly crashes. I've also had the regular menu outright freeze and I had to RESTART the display. (yes, unplug and plug back in). UNACCEPTABLE Problem 3: Displayport is USELESS. I have a RTX 3080 that has no issue with any display I throw at it except this one. Using the DP input would crash the TV or just not display. Sometimes it would work. Problem 4: HDMI barely works. It's so bad that my computer literally freezes for several seconds when I plug in the monitor. I guess its trying to figure out what to do with it. I suspect the EDID info isn't right. Problem 5: Crashes in games. Starting some games will indeed cause my PC to freeze. THIS is the WORSE issue that I've never experienced in my life. Again, I think this is a resolution / EDID issue. Yes, I have researched and tried everything you can imagine. I've been in IT professionally for 17 years. WHAT FINALLY WORKED... I purchased a Monoprice Blackbird 8k 2-in, 2-out HDMI duplicator/switcher. In this way, the PC and monitor do not actually connect and my PC sees the display as an "HDMI SWITCHER". It still isn't perfect, but after playing around with settings, etc, I have a 90% stable monitor. Still getting some on/off flicker issues. Samsung, you should be ashamed of yourselves. Looks like this monitor might not be available anymore.. I wonder why. If you ever wanted me to purchase Samsung products again, you would have to allow me to exchange this monitor for an upgraded model that actually works.

Honestly, I would not rate this 5 stars at the regular retail price. It has it's shortcomings and I would expect more for nearly $1000, but at the current discount to $499 - or even better, the open box deal I got for even less, this is a fantastic monitor. I bought it as a replacement for my failing 34" curved ultra-wide, and retaining similar pixel density while also significantly increasing my screen working area has been a big upgrade for me. It is bright, responsive, and provides a nice sharp image. While I am not a fan of the 'smart TV' features and popup that comes up when I power it on, it works great on both counts. It's not perfect and does not match OLED performance, but it should also have zero burn-in risk that using an OLED for a PC might induce. I highly recommend it at the discounted price if you just want something 4k that is bigger for your PC - whether you use it exclusively for productive pursuits or gaming.

Stunning! I'm a programmer and spend hours at my desk. I'm not much of a gamer, but do love the responsiveness that gaming monitors provide. I was pleasantly surprised by how easy it was to setup and operate. I scored mine after Black Friday and open box. Absolute steal for the price! If you're hesitating because of the screen size, remember you don't have to use the whole real estate (eg you can keep your windows at eye level still, leaving space above). I'd rather have more space than I need any day. Absolutely love it, and highly recommend!
