Disappointed with this robot
|Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. We have a new puppy on the way later this summer so I thought it would be great to try out this Consumer Reports top rated robot vacuum. I was getting it with the understanding that it won't clean everything, but it would at least help manage the dog hair and keep it under control. I've been testing this thing for over a week now and I've been very disappointed with the results. Maybe I just got a bad unit because there appear to be lots of positive reviews so far. No matter where I place the charger downstairs, the vacuum can never find it's way home. Currently it's sitting against a flat wall, with no furniture within several feet of it and nothing in front of it for 12ft on bare wood floors. It is positioned with the charger going with the grain of the wood as Samsung advises. The last time I ran the vacuum, it cleaned the room that the charger is in about 4 times, after it ran into the table and chairs about 40 times. It wouldn't leave that room and go anywhere else. Then it beeped and said it was done. When it said it was done it was 4ft from the charging station. So what did it do? It turned off the suction and then it drove down the hallway, around the kitchen several times, in to the living room, and then it died on the other side of the house. While it was cruising around, it wasn't cleaning, it was just driving around. I had to pick it up and carry it back to the charging station. This has been pretty common with every time I have run the vacuum. It runs into things it shouldn't, then rams them 2 or 3 more times before it goes elsewhere. If there's a mapping system, it's not a good one. Our floor plan is basically a square and this thing can't seems to figure it out. It gets caught up constantly trying to get on to the area rug in the living room but the funny thing is that when it finally figures out how to get up on to the rug it goes in a circle and goes off the rug again. Then it tries to go back up and has problems again so it gives up and goes somewhere else. Why wouldn't it just stay up on the carpet once it successfully gets up there? If I do the manual mode and drive it, it goes up on the carpet pretty easily and cleans it without a problem. But on Auto, it won't do it, so what's the point. The app is not very intuitive and doesn't offer much more in the way of features than the remote control does, so it's not much help either. Overall, for the price, I can't recommend this robot vacuum to anyone that has anything other than a square room with no furniture to clean. It does have impressive suction power and the battery life is good. The dust bin is also a good size and it is easy to empty. It looks great and feels like it has great build quality. I can tell it's solid because I've had to pick it up and carry it back to the charger 4 times. If this vacuum could actually map out a floor plan and then follow a route to clean, then it could be the best vacuum out there. But it can't navigate furniture, can't deal with area rugs and can't find it's way home when it's done cleaning. These are pretty much the main reasons to get a robot vacuum. Maybe Samsung will do some firmware or software updates in the future that will improve the PowerBot R7065, and if so I'll update my review.

Posted .Hello Cusedice! I understand your disappointment, and I can turn this around for you. Please check this useful link that can help you with fixing the docking station: <https://bit.ly/2xJKrqg>, to know more information about it, you can check the user manual on pages 12-13 in the following link: <https://bit.ly/2GOroKV>. You can find more details about the mapping sensor by clicking on this link: <https://bit.ly/2Lso4bD>.
Quick tip: please switch off the reset button located at the button of the unit, then move the docking station in an area that the vacuum can move freely, after that turn it back on and run the vacuum.

Cleans up great!
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. This vacuum is great!! It picks up so much fluff and dust. We have 3 cats and a dog, so there is lots of fur and dander floating around. It gets into corners and up under things that I wouldn't normally clean on a regular basis. It's very easy to empty the dust bin and clean the rollers. I do have to pick up the bath mat or it will get stuck. Worth the investment!!

I love my robot cleaner!
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I was so excited to get this little guy! I recently got brand new wood floors throughout most of my house. This has been a lifesaver with having a dog. The dirt compartments holds a good amount of dirt or hair. The whole compartment and filter is washable also. I would say the only downside is wishing this would suck up larger tumbleweeds of German shepherd hair.

Worth the money
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. This robot vacuum is amazing! We have a German Shepherd and man does this help with the hair. We turn the vacuum on before we leave for work in the morning and then turn it on again when we come home in the evening. The app to use the vacuum away from home or even while your at home is really nice too. I would definitely recommend this to friends and family.

Love the "BOT"!
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Hit the start on the remote and let it go to work. Best for hard wood floors as rugs provide much fuzz which reduces suction and performance.

Almost Perfect
|Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. This is a really good vacuum that only has a couple of minor flaws. First thing I want to say is that the vacuum has 3 settings for power. Light, normal, and turbo. All settings pick up dirt really well. The lightest setting is really quiet so that the vacuum does not make too much noise. It still collects dirt really well. The medium setting has moderate noise, still less than a standard vacuum and has better pickup. The turbo setting is the loudest and has the most powerful suction. The noise level is that of a standard vacuum. I have a Pomeranian that has long hair and sheds. This vacuum has no problem picking up dog hair or anything else that is on the floor. The power bot picks up things that are missed by our regular vacuum. It also can clean hardwood floors and transitions seamlessly from carpet to hardwood. I have a 700 sq ft 1 bedroom apartment so I cannot comment on the charge time because it can clean it all in one go. Sometimes it appears to clean in random patterns but it still ends up getting every spot. I haven't seen it miss anything yet. The edge control works really well and it kisses the wall and increases suction while extending a little arm to get the edges really well. Now for the flaws. The only two flaws that I have noticed is that it gets stuck on rugs. So I have gotten into the habit of pulling all of my rugs and mats off the floor before I activate it. If not it will go over them and get stuck and send out a distress signal. The other flaw that I have noticed is that every once in a blue mood and will get stuck trying to go back to the docking station and just bumps into the wall until it's battery dies. There is a small wall between my kitchen and living room. The docking station is in the living room. It will get stuck in the kitchen and can't find its' way around the wall to the docking station. Other than that it works great. There are multiple cleaning options for spots, clean until the battery dies, auto, and manual. The manual is good for just going over a dirty area real quick. The remote has arrows that you can use to guide the vacuum to where you need it to go. It also comes with really good scheduling options.

Jury is Still Out...
|Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I love robotic vacuums. I think they may have been one of the best inventions in the last 10 years. I hope someday to be able to upgrade to a robotic mop. BUT... When they fail, they seem to fail spectacularly. This is my second robotic vacuum, both from Samsung. I hold Samsung in high esteem and love their products. This product, though, may still have a few bugs to work out. This model is much better than my previous model. The added satin chrome to the body adds a bit of pop to the look. The battery life is much longer, by at least an hour. The newer version does not get hung up on every little string or frayed piece of carpeting. It has three levels of vacuuming - quiet, normal, and turbo. Maybe it's just me, but as much as I appreciate a quiet mode, I like to hear my vacuum working. At first, this vacuum was a great little workhorse. I used it nearly every day for two weeks. It handled hard floors and carpeting like a champ. Didn't so much as blink when changing surfaces. It changed speeds on its own when it needed more power. THEN... Last night, I noticed it was running slow. It didn't seem like it was picking anything up. I thought it was running low on battery, so I sent it back to its station. Tonight, it started out great. Ran for maybe an hour, then did the same thing again. Started running slow, nothing being picked up, looked like it was on its last legs. I checked the Smart Things App (which you will want to download to schedule and control your vacuum easily), and the battery was half-full yet. The speed was still set to normal. I was at a loss, so I sent it back to its charging station again. My first model was frustrating because it would catch on every little thing, causing us to have to clear the rollers constantly. Then, it completely died, no rhyme or reason. We've since got it to work again, but the battery life is maybe an hour at best. I was looking forward to this updated/upgraded version and was so impressed with it right out of the box. I still believe in Samsung products, but this one just misses the mark, again.

Really disappointed
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. This robot got great reviews so I happily forked over the bucks for the machine that was going to make my life so easy! Unfortunately, it simply didn't live up to the hype. The worst thing for me was the fact that it got stuck on the fringe of my oriental carpets. I've got 5 downstairs, and I was constantly having to get up and remove the robot from the strings. Also, when it wasn't getting itself hung up, I didn't feel like it did a great job of getting the house clean. Granted, my house is big, but other robots manage to keep it in decent shape. I returned it to Best Buy (thanks!) and bought a Rhoomba. My advice if you go for a Rhoomba, get a model with brushes instead of the flat plastic rollers. I find the brushes are far more efficient.

Awesome machine
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.WE bought this to replace an iRobot roomba. We love it! The vacuum "patterns" pick up so much more and is more efficient versus the random "all over the place" operation of the old device. Think of it as mowing the lawn in straight, back and forth lines, versus walking in odd patterns all over the lawn.
