Customers are satisfied with the POWERbot™ robot vacuum's strong suction power and excellent cleaning performance, frequently praising its ability to pick up pet hair and its relatively quiet operation. However, some users experienced issues with navigation and reported the dustbin to be on the smaller side. The ease of use and long battery life were also highlighted as positive aspects.

Let's get one thing straight: This is not going to replace your regular vacuum cleaner. While these robo-vacs do a good job of picking up most of the dirt, they are simply not capable of deep cleaning like a full-blown vacuum. With that said, this unit seems to navigate fairly well and I like that I can see where it has been through the mobile app. It's louder than most on high and medium power, but on quiet it's not bad at all; although it doesn't clean nearly as well.
I also like the fact that the dust bin releases from the top.
Overall, I'm pretty happy with this Samsung robo-vac.

This robotic vacuum is very good. It replaced a Roomba which I liked, but I always had trouble with getting stuck or simply dying before it got back to the base to recharge.
I rolled the dice on this and overall I'm glad that I did. The vacuuming, clearly the most important part, is awesome. The bin is full every time. It's doing it's job as a vacuum. Making back to the base? Much better, but it has still gotten stuck a few times. I assume with my furniture and the layout of my house, that is going to happen. I felt that it was happening too much with the Roomba, but this Samsung is making it back 75% of the time versus literally never with my Roomba.
Setting it up was easy, simple as that. But that leads me to what knocks it from 5 to 4 stars. The app is horrible. The name of the product says "App Controlled" and the app just doesn't work. Adding the robotic vacuum was easy. Nothing happened after that. It shows that it's connected and whether it's charging. There's a play/pause button on the button showing the vacuum, that works. But when I click to open the vacuum it says "Connecting" and then comes up with the same error, "Network or server error occurred. Try again later." Seriously? For an app controlled vacuum. No. Surprisingly, one time I was sitting at work and got a message from the app that the right wheel was stuck. I clicked the notification and it took me to the robot's page in the app. I thought that maybe something got jogged and it might work now. I was able to click through and view everything.
Since I was at work, I had to wait until I got home to put it back on the charger. This is another irritation. When you put it back on, it doesn't start charging. I have to push the Play button on the vacuum and it wakes up and starts charging. I missed a day because I didn't realize that. It really should wake up when it reached the charger. The app that I thought might be fixed, not. I get the same error unless the vacuum contacts me with an issue. It's just not well done or thought out.
Overall, the vacuuming works great as a vacuum. But as a connected device, it falls very short. I would still recommend it because it vacuums so well. But a company like Samsung should really have a better app than they do. I've found that their hardware can be second to none in all categories (Phones, TVs, this vacuum, etc.). Their software lags badly.

Our First Robot Vac, but Love It!

I have to admit, my husband and I both thought these robot vacuums were simply toys for techie types, but after using this POWERbot R7065, we've changed our minds completely! Granted we have never had one before and didn't know much about how they work, but I am simply amazed at how much functionality and features are packed into this device! Have to admit, setting it up with the app took some effort and seems like it should be easier, but after we got it set up, it was so simple to understand and use. The first automatic cleaning we did sure proved our prior vacuuming efforts weren't as thorough as we thought. Simply amazing the amount of dust, dirt and debris it found and sucked up. And it is so cool how it just keeps going until it senses it is running low on battery, then just meanders back to the base. Guess my initial concern was that I simply couldn't see a device this compact being able to do the job and have enough suction. But it seems to do great based on what it accumulates, and it works very well on our carpeted areas, ceramic tile, and wood floors. Struggles a little bit on/around some throw rugs we have, but guess they are a bit uneven and shaggy. Was also wondering about coverage and how completely it vacuums an area without missing areas, but it seems to do a good job in that aspect too. It does get a bit bogged down when it gets into some confined smaller odd-shaped areas and tries to get out, but at least those smaller areas are finally getting vacuumed whereas we probably skipped them before. So we have been very happy with the R7065, and use it quite often, maybe even more than we need to. The only negatives I can think of that it could have been easier to get going with the app, and I also wonder how well it will hold up over time, especially given how light it is. But guess it has to be light given that it is battery powered vs. one of us pushing a typical vac around. Also checked a bit online about buying extras and parts (like brushes and the tape), and seems like those are quite expensive, so hopefully don't need to add or replace much over time. Other than those things, very happy with the unit and that we've finally moved into the new era of vacuum cleaning our home!

Powerbot 7065 Rocks!

I've had a few different robot vacuums including another samsung (the R7070 - which shares most of the same features). I must say, samsung seems to be working out the kinks software wise. The R7070 didn't hit me as a particularly great unit, due to its tendency to get stuck more often than not on things that wouldn't trip up my previous vac. The R7065 seems to navigate those obstacles much better. It's amazing what a model year can do.
The Powerbot is a really cool device. Not only can you schedule it, but you can control it and manage it from your phone and Alexa as well. I love (and so do my kids) being able to say: Alexa "start the vacuum". I've had some issues with the app and the device disappearing, but it's easy enough to re-add it. Honestly, as long as Alexa doesn't break, it's all gravy - the notifications I get from the app aren't overly helpful.
The remote is also quite handy for spot cleaning. In a pinch it's nice to just tell it where to go instead of having to pick it up like we used to with our old vacuum.
The R7070 and R7065 seem to be quite similar. Comparing them they end up looking identical. However, I've found the 7065 seems to navigate easier and get stuck less. I'm not sure if it's firmware, or just something better about the sensors, but in either case I have a much easier time recommending this vacuum.
One thing that I was definitely surprised about was the quiet operation. The motors on the slow mode are nearly in audible, and the vacuum, while not especially quiet, is a frequency that isn't as annoying as our old vacuum. My wife actually doesn't mind running the vacuum at night or during the day (we used to only run while we were away). I love how it switches intelligently based on either hard surface or carpet. It keeps the noise down even further. The only thing that gets a bit loud is when it hits a corner. It turns up the power, and attempts to rake in all the dust it can. This is probably the loudest you'll hear it in eco/quiet mode - and it's a bit jarring. It doesn't last too long or happen too often, but you'll probably won't want to watch a movie while this guy is running.
Now with any robot vacuum, you need to make sure to pick up first, as well as understand that certain items on the floor will hang up any robot vacuum. You might have a chair or other obstacle that trips it up. The magnetic strip can help, but more often than not, just moving a box or basket to create a barrier can alleviate issues. The powerbot is meant to be a timesaver, not a maid.
Now I'm not sure how, but the vacuum has scuffed it's finish a few times. The damage is nothing severe, and is probably from brick the brick fireplace I have, but it's not something I dealt with in the past from other vacs. While the samsung will tend to run a bit harder into things than others, it doesn't hit so hard as to make you worry about furniture finishes or anything. The only other complaint comes from my wife who found emptying the dust bin more difficult than the other brand vac we have. I've since felt like it's gotten easier - perhaps just a break in period?
All that said, I highly recommend this robot vac! It seems like Samsung has done a lot to improve navigation and prevent it from getting stuck. Some may feel differently, but as an early adopter of robot vacs (and thus my expectations are framed in those experiences), I'm impressed. The powerbot has earned the coveted spot of downstairs cleaner in my house!

This vacuum far exceeded my expectations. I enjoyed reading the directions which I normally don’t do for a lot of products but this one was nice and easy. I trust the suction power of this vacuum and feel like it cleans the carpet far better than any other regular vacuum. If you are looking for a robot like vacuum and want one of the best I have tried and would recommend this product to you. It is the most convenient and best working I have ever seen! I've owned a few different robot vacuums over the years and I've always felt that there has been room for improvement and more control. After receiving my Samsung I set it up next to my other bots and let them clean the same space to see which one performed better. I must say this though I was not expecting it to clean as fast as it did. I follow consumer reports recommendation before making any purchase and this one they hit the nail on the head. I couldnt believe the suction power of this thing and I was amazed at how much debree it was able to pick up after my other robot vacuum was completed. We dont have carpets so I couldn't really tell you how well it performed on that type of surface but if you have any type of hard surface flooring this is an awesome investment in cleanliness. I was also impressed at how quiet it was when moving around. My other bots make alot of noise and you can definitely hear them when you are on are main floor below them. I also like the fact that it is Low profile so it will fit under our furniture. That seems to be a problem for alot of different brands out there. I'm excited to move it (Rosie) downstairs once I complete the tile floors.

This is one of numerous models of Samsung robot vacuums, not one designed for pet hair (they make models for that) but good on the hair, nonetheless.
We use this in 2 areas, 1 carpeted and 1 tile, and it actually does well with the transition. We are still trying to teach it to avoid the drop off that exists between the dining room & living room, and it's tried to do a jump off it a couple of times, but it's still learning.
Programming otherwise is easy and it integrates very well with the "Smart Things" app on my Samsung Galaxy S8. We can control when we want it to run (for example, don't dare work while I'm trying to sleep), etc. It mostly runs during the day when we're gone, and have caught the dog looking suspiciously at it a few times.
It's a good vacuum, but obviously the price is steep. Honestly, a $200 vac and some assigned chores to the kids would be just as good, but if you're looking for full automation this will indeed do the job.

The POWERbot R7065 is a fantastic household appliance. The battery seems to work for 75-90 minutes on a charge. It gets around the dinner table and chairs and hasn't gotten stuck once in the two weeks that I've had it.
Make sure to empty the dust-collector at least every other day. It's also very important to turn it over and clean it up at least once a week. This will help keep the parts clean and clear.
The included magnetic strip allows us to keep our bedroom door open without worrying about it getting into anything when we don't want it to... really cool.

Another Fantastic Samsung Product

Samsung's line of POWERbots is a fantastic addition to any smart home and the R7065 is no exception.
I have a pretty tight schedule which makes finding time to vacuum tough, so finding an automatic vacuum that can take care of the house by itself it a must. I've tried several other brands, but none of them were as exceptional as Samsung.
The robot doesn't get stuck on my carpet, has outstanding suction power, and doesn't bump into or scratch furniture. I love the ability to schedule when it cleans so it can do its thing while I'm at work and park itself under a cabinet before I get home. I never have to see it.
The Google Assistant integration is great as I can tell it to start vacuuming if I drop something crummy on the carpet - why manually vacuum it up when my robobuddy can take care of me?
If you don't have the extra money to splurge for the R7070 or you're skeptical and don't want to invest too much, the R7065 will NOT let you down!

This is my first robot vacuum. Has great reviews on Consumer Reports and seems pretty competitive with others I have read about. Setup was actually pretty smooth as well as connection to the iPhone app. However, in the app, it seems somewhat limited and the mapping trace it provides after cleaning is basically meaningless.
Battery seems sufficient and have run it automatic mode so far each time. Vacuum capability seems pretty good on my hard wood floor, but on the carpet it leaves pretty messy track lines from it's path and I don't think has anywhere near the suction as my Dyson has.
Concept is neat, ease of setup not bad, but worth the money? Not so sure.

I've used quite a few robot vacuums in my day, and this one is higher up on the list, but not the best.
Whats in the box: Vacuum, home base, little magnet boundary blocker.
Quality: Build quality seems good. Robot is solid feeling and the bin feels nice and solid in the unit.
Features: While it touts wifi, I'm not sure I get the point of it as there isn't much you can do with it. Smart navigation, which i'll get to, a remote control, edge cleaner built in.
Use: Well, I'm a bit disappointed. I'll start with Wifi setup. Not the easiest thing in the world. There is a complicated pushing of buttons on the remote, while eating cereal on a tuesday with the sun halfway down. Ok, not quite that complicated, but not nearly as streamlined as it should/could be. Other robot vacuums are MUCH easier to get hooked into your wifi. Then....I don't really see the point, other than remotely starting the vacuum. You don't see a map of where its been (even though I've seen that advertised), you can only schedule every day, or one time. You cannot schedule certain days of the week (every monday and thursday for example). This is a let down, I don't want to clean 7 days a week, but I have to remember to start it every time now.
There is an included remote control (think...TV remote). I also don't see the use. There is an option to where you can use the remote to shine a light on the ground, and the robot will begrudgingly go over there an clean. I found myself contemplating life itself when I was sitting my fat behind on the couch angry pointing a remote at a dust bunny, when it would have been faster for me to just go pick it up.
Navigation: Not bad, but not great. This unit does have a smart navigation feature, so it doesn't just bounce around blindly running into things. Overall it works fairly well. It does not map out the house completely, so it doesn't necessarily remember what rooms it's been in and hasn't been in. I end up with rooms cleaned on some runs, and not on others. Good news? It doesn't get stuck, and usually ends up back at home...although its "go home" feature is a bit lackluster. When the robot is going home, I'm not sure he knows where home is. He just kinda rolls around, wiggles a bit, continues to roll around, and somehow finds his base. Mine usually takes a couple landing attempts to get on the base as well. So far though, he's been successful every time, he would just be embarrassed at his performance of landing. In this day and age, in this price range, robot vacuums are able to use virtual boundaries to block where they can't go. This vacuum still uses a magnetic strip you have to lay on the ground. Very disappointing to me. This really limits the use as I don't want to have magnetic strips all over my house all the time.
Cleaning: The robot does clean fairly well, the carpet looks good and it adjusts the suction power automatically depending on floor type. It has a little rubber blade that comes down when it detects an edge...I fail to see the use of it.
Overall: Cleans well but is missing some important features that competitors in this price range have.

This is my second powerbot. For the money, you get ore features. WIFI lets you control from an app. You can schedule it to run daily. Fairly quiet when operating. It is quirky, gets stuck in random places and i frequently find it disables somewhere in my house. It comes with a magnetic strip to avoid other rooms but I would not want a magnet running across my floor or carpet. My last one had the drum plate break but it was fairly inexpensive to get parts. I appreciate Samsung does not gouge you when repairing. This also comes with a remote. For the money it's good but I am not in love with it!.

I was very skeptical about smart vacuum, until I stated using the PowerBot. I use to think, these machines don't have enough suction, cant navigate around the house without bumping into stuff or getting stuck. I am very wrong. I am fortunate to try out the Samsung PowerBot as an Insider. The Samsung Powerbot is awesome. I've been using this for more than a week, and so far, it has done amazing job. It navigates around the house and doesn't not bump into walls or furniture, except once it hit the dining table leg, but I think it recorded it in the memory, so it did not reoccur again. Suction is adequate to pick up the dirt. Battery life is excellent. And before it runs out of battery, it automatically goes back to the charging dock. And lastly, I have smartthings setup at my home, and it pairs nicely with the other stuff. So, I can schedule to run the powerbot after I leave to work. So far so good. Wife is very happy with it. She has one less thing to worry about :)

I've been a big Roomba user for many years now. I was given this PowerBot as a demo to test. I was very very pleased with it.
I like the 90 degree face that gets in to corners well.
I like the speed
The power is fantastic.
Good dirt/debris storage capacity.
I do have a few downsides.
Battery life isn't great, my Roomba's battery lasts longer.
Also, the inability to program a weekly schedule either on the base or through the app is a bit frustrating.
This is missing some sort of spinning brush on the outside/edge like other makes and models have.
There are better vacuums out there, but this gets 4 stars for it's power and ability to get dust off hardwood and hair off rugs.

More drone-like than your typical robot vacuum

Robot vacuums have been around for a few years now, but I wouldn't be so quick to dismiss the Samsung POWERbot R7065 as just another one of those. I've used some other robot vacuums before, and they are basically black boxes in the sense that you basically start them (or schedule them) and they just go to work with not much control. The first thing I noticed unpacking the R7065 is a physical remote control. Yes, there is still a mobile app option but in my opinion the physical remote really makes the POWERbot feel more like a vacuum drone than just another robot vacuum. With the remote, I can activate auto cleaning, select from three suction settings (Normal, Turbo, Quiet), control the vacuum manually, and have it return back to the charging dock.
The vacuum itself has a display on it that shows information on battery level as well as when it senses an edge. Measuring just over 3.75" inches in height, it can fit under most common furniture and cupboards.
Like most, this is best suited for "maintenance" and not deep cleaning. The dustbin will get filled pretty quick if you haven't vacuumed after a few days, but is sized appropriately for daily use. When in auto clean mode, the POWERbot seems to be good at covering an area efficiently without as much of the random movement and pathing you often see in competing products. This really helps with ensuring a daily scheduled clean covers an area well.
Bottom line, you'll get the most benefit by having the POWERbot run daily. It's nice coming home to a noticeably vacuumed carpet, while at the same time being able to manually control for spot cleaning when needed.

I reviewed this product as part of an insider program. At first I was like this thing way too heavy to get around smoothly. I was totally wrong. It actually slightly lifts on to a rug if you have hardwood/Carpet or rugs. It has to be a solid rug or it will just be pushed up on one side. It suctions better then another brand of robotic vacuum I have. I’m impressed how much dirt it it sucks out of a rug. My upright vacuum must not be doing a good job. It comes with a remote , which is an added bonus, especially when you have unexpected guess that stop by for a visit. Send the robot home and your good to go. I’d like to say this is a perfect gift for the elder or someone with back problems, perfect house warming gift. Who wouldn’t like an extra hand in cleaning! Keeps floors how I like them, clean;) thanks for developing such a great product!

I am reviewing this product as an Insider…
I received this vacuum on Thursday and unpacked and performed the setup Thursday evening. As I have seen others report in other reviews here and elsewhere, I had some difficulties with the setup with the vacuum to the Samsung app. Initially I had downloaded the Samsung Connect for iPhone, but into the setup process I was notified I had to use the Samsung SmartThings app instead. After downloading the correct app, the process was still very problematic. As part of the setup the R7065 needs to be added to your Wi-Fi and becomes and access point for you to complete the setup directly connected to the vacuum. Only problem was it took me several attempts to get this to complete. The first couple of times it says I was connected and would show a setup progress of 33%, but stopped right there. Eventually I would get kicked out with an error. The first two failures seemed pretty benign as if just said it lost connection. The third failure seemed a bit more alarming as it said there were permission problems and said I needed to contact Samsung support. I called support and they told me to wait a few minutes and try again the setup. I had been on hold for several minutes waiting to get a support person, so tried it while they were on the phone with me. Maybe it is the proverbial mechanics syndrome, but this time ti completed fine. Now was time for the actual fun...
I initially launched an automatic cleaning on my downstairs. It worked like a charm Please understand I have never owned a robo vacuum before, and had never even seen one perform besides the brief videos on commercials. I was blown away by how well this vacuum performed. I was additionally amazed on how well it was able to navigate itself around. I noticed the default auto-clean I started also had the "Repeat" turned on. The manual explained this as the device would run until it completely drained the battery, so I turned it off. I was still very ignorant on how this device worked so when I saw it looked like maybe it was going over spots it had already gone over, I pushed the app option to return it to base to recharge. I noticed there was no history in the app logs for the ~1 hour of cleaning it had completed. Doing some on line searches I learned that I should let it complete the cleaning cycle itself, and not manually tell it to return to base. I ran it again Friday morning and it indeed did return to tbe base to recharge on its own and ran a second cycle to complete some of the cleaning that I apparently had not noticed it hadn't completed.
Now for the cleaning itself. I was astonished at how much this little robo vacuum picked up. Considering my wife and I had cleaned the tile floors and area rugs maybe two days earlier, it still picked up a lot of dirt and debris. I have a two story home with ~3100 sq ft total which is quite tiresome to do manually. I can see this robo vacuum saving us a lot of time to do other things, while keeping our floors as clean, ro cleaner, than had we done it ourselves.
My past opinion was these vacuums were just a novelty for someone who doesn't know what else to do with their money. My mind is now totally changed. I think we should have had one of these much sooner. It is definitely worth the money spent. And, as I mentioned early in this review, my only frustrations were with the initial setup on my Wi-Fi and with the app on my iPhone.

I was so excited to have the opportunity to review the POWERbot R7065 as a member of The Insiders! I have three cats and it's always a big chore keeping the hair in check. I spend much of my day at work so I really needed something to take care of it while I'm gone.
I just recently moved into a condo that has a lot of carpet. I only just had time to unbox and try it out this weekend. It seems to very methodically clean seemingly the same area over and over but it's actually working its way across. Of course, there are still a lot of boxes that it has to work around. So it wasn't a very good test yet.
I was really surprised at how quiet it is. My cats were not afraid of it at all and just watched it. They only moved when it approached them directly. Now that I know that they are comfortable with it, I will be scheduling it to work while I'm gone during the day.
I noticed that it doesn't want to go very far away from its charging dock and it does go back there when it needs to recharge. I would recommend having one for each main room.

I wanted to love this but ended up hating it. Against it's competitors it does vacuum very well ( suction power). Even after a standard vac job the robot was able to find bunch of overlooked spots. It is more intelligent than it's peers and does not bounce off my walls nor get stuck on floor vents or furniture. For all of its' positives I can't over come the NOISE. It sounds like a power tool when running. It's makes more noise than my belt sander or shop vac. With other Vacs i have been able to sleep at night while they clean. With this I have to leave the house. The bin is very small and easily clogged, While attempting to empty said bin expect to get your hands dirty. Lastly battery life at best lasts 20 min (on hardwood floors) before it sends itself for a recharge..
