    helpful vacuum

I bought this vacuum as part of the insiders program. I was very happy when I was presented with the opportunity to do so because I was overdue to buy a new vacuum. I have never owned a smart vacuum before. It was easy to setup and hook up to my wifi. I love the fact that is compatible with Alexa. The suction is powerful enough to pick up even to smallest and lightest objects. It charges pretty quickly. I wish that the vacuum was a little quieter and the vacuum sometimes has a little difficulty finding home base, but overall it's a great product. I have small kids in my home to it's nice to have product clean the floors throughout the day.

Ultra cool way to clean your home. Back when watching the Jetsons, I never thought I would really have a robot to clean my home. I love this robot and don't know what I would do without it. It is so easy to use and keeps both the carpet and wood floors cleaned. No bending over and lifting the heavy vacuum, this little robot does it all for you. At the push of a button, it cleans it all. The quality of the clean is also amazing. It has picked up cat hair and other pieces that I really thought it wouldn't catch. Everyone needs a robot. It's now my best friend.

    More money? More Power!!!

Let me start by saying I was skeptical about why the R7065 cost more than the R7040 and if for the price difference I will get actual benefits in the every day use. After testing the R7065 for over a week I can see way it cost more and I think it worth every penny! First, the suction power: Samsung specifications state “40x more powerful suction” and I think they are right. The vacuum “ate” everything I put in its way, from my pets hair, to my cat litter (small sand like material), to pieces of packing peanuts which a lot of vacuum I used before had problem with. Another thing I like it the vacuum brush is the easy of cleaning the brush just by hand without any tool/scissors. On other brands usually I’m having hard time cleaning the brush because of my pets hair, it gets tingled on the brush and impossible to remove without cutting it out. This robot vacuum come with all the feature you can think of, from Wi-Fi, to phone app, remote control and you can even control it by using Alexa personal assistant. The features that most important for me are the coverage map and the build in laser point on the remote control. The coverage map show me on my phone where the vacuum cleaned and I can see if it missed a spot and direct it back to that spot. The laser point give me the ability to just point to the place I want the vacuum to clean, very helpful when I need only specific spot to get cleaned instead of just waiting for the it to get to that spot as part of regular clean. I think the R7065 absolutely worth the a little high price tag, especially if you have pets or kids and need to high suction power. This honest review was written in exchange for a discounted appliance as part of the insiders program.

    My First ROBO

I recently purchased Samsung POWERbot R7065. As I took it out of the box I was immediately impressed. The Samsung POWERbot is ruggedly built and well-designed. It actually looks cool like a robot with digital display, head shape body and camera eye. What’s in the Box: The unit comes well packaged and includes the vacuum, charging dock and cable, remote control with batteries, boundary tape and manual. Setup: After reading the instructions, I plugged in the docking station and turned on the Powerbot. I spent 5 to 10 minutes to complete the setup. I suggest to look into the instruction book before setup and charge the POWERbot R7065 first time. Reading through the instruction book will save some time during the setup process. Adding Powerbot R7065 to Samsung SmartThings app is easy and completed in couple of minutes. It supports 2.4 GHZ wireless network only. Home Prep: Use: After charging the first time, With a push of the auto button my R7065 took off to start its 1st cleaning run. It has plenty of sensors and a onboard digital camera but I still notice that it was going over my furniture legs. Love the intelligent power control that pumps up the suction power when the unit detects carpet instead of laminate floor. In "Normal" mode, POWERbot R7065 vacuum sound is relatively low compared to standard vacuums. It automatically changes suction power to "Quiet" to "Normal" or "Turbo" based on the dirt on the floor. As a self-controlled device, it generally seems to have a pretty good handle on itself. Every movement is methodical and purposeful to the point that it looks almost as if the device is really thinking. Edge cleaning - the POWERbot™ R7065 has a standard spinning brush setup very much like a standard vacuum. It knows how to adjust itself under the counter edge to get along the baseboard and clean corners. This was impressive because I didn’t think it would do a good job that close to the wall. It also maneuvered itself under and around chair legs and under tables. It does things like energy saver, self-adjust its wheels and edge cleaning. This robot vacuum by Samsung is a great looking futuristic vacuum with voice control using Google or Alexa. You have different ways of operating it. You can use the remote, app or the onboard touch buttons. Overall, I was impressed with the vacuum. It did a great job and didn’t run into any difficulties. I would definitely recommend this vacuum

    Well built satisfactory robot vacuum

The R7065 is a well constructed and high build quality product. The vacuum incorporates one main brush roll which does an effective job of vacuuming piled carpet while the suction is ample enough to clean hard floors. One minor item I noted was how this vacuum cleans along walls. Typically a robot vacuum will encounter a wall then turn 90 degrees and proceed to vacuum along the entire length of the wall until another obstruction is encountered. But when the R7065 encounters a wall it first increases vacuuming pressure, then turns away and proceeds back into the room at the lower, standard, vacuuming pressure. Also, the boundary strip provided is very short and not practical for large open spaces.

I really wanted this vacuum to work as advertised. I mean, the product description and videos make it look SO COOL! And it was, for a few days. Long enough for all the review sites to give it good ratings. Unfortunately, after a few days, it got lost almost every night and was unable to return to it's home. If it wasn't lost, the compartment where junk get sucked up into would be "full". Not actually full, just the small pathway where everything has to go through to get to the actual compartment would be jammed with stuff that didn't make it, thus resulting in usable space of the compartment being about 20% of the actual size. This is a terrible design and unless you're only sucking up cheerios or other small non-hairy items, it will get clogged EVERY TIME! The last straw was when it gave error code C02 indicating that the left wheel was stuck. I checked and the wheel is cleaner than my floors are, since the vacuum doesn't work properly! So, it is another issue that I cannot fix. We will have useful robots one day, but it's going to be painful to get there.

Works Great - Pet Hair Can Mean Expensive Repairs

We've had a POWERbot R7065 for almost 2-years. It works better than we would have guessed. Does a great job of cleaning, including lot's of dog fur. That brings up the issue: Seems that the hair gets into the beater drive bearing area and binds up the drive, eventually ruining either the motor or the drive belt. Our first return for repair was just over 1 year from purchase. Standard $160 repair minumum. Upon return, it worked great for about 4 months... then same problem. Samsung Customer Care was kind enough to make the 2nd repair for free... but I'm left wondering if in a couple more months we'll be in trouble again... and I can't justify spending $160 for repairs every 4-6 months. Would be great if there was a user friendly way to access and clean out the area, but it seems pretty well sealed up for only pro's to access. Love the vac when it works... not sure I can afford to keep it running.

    Terrible AI, gets stuck often

Between the Artificial Intelligence design (which is far from intelligent) and the robot's physical design, this vacuum cleaner has major problems performing its duties. __[ Getting Stuck ]__ In only one of five vacuum runs during my testing was this bot able to complete the run and return to its charging base without getting stuck. In the very first run, I had to intervene after the bot got stuck four times before it finished its run. When the robot gets stuck, it either recognizes its predicament and shuts down, or it doesn't realize this and keeps the motor going until the battery runs out; both scenarios happened very often for me. This bot has gotten stuck on the back leg/support of a glider rocking chair, a thick power corder near a wall, the wheel of a computer chair, and more. __[ Terrible AI ]__ The Samsung SmartThings app is able to show a map indicating coverage over a vacuum run. If my interpretation of the map is correct, and its accuracy is to be believed, then the coverage is quite poor, with lots of missed area. This isn’t at all surprising, having watched the bot’s pathing over many runs. The bot acts as though it has no idea where it is, where it’s been, and where it needs to go. It easily gets stuck in small areas, taking quite a while to get out of them, only to then return to these exact same spots several times within the same run. The pathing in general seems extremely sporadic, moving to different rooms/areas before completing the area it’s in, entering a room only to promptly exit it, etc. Its edge detection is terrible; it will regularly turn on edge mode when encountering non-edge obstacles, and will fail to turn on when encountering a wall, instead moving along it in an awkward way as if it’s detecting the entire wall as an obstacle to get around. The bot is designed to transition to a slow brush speed when encountering hard flooring, but it is regularly late in switching. It also regularly switches into a higher speed while still on these surfaces, which is not great for the health of the floor surface. __[ Design / Vacuum Performance ]__ The one positive thing I can say about this vacuum is that it actually seems to be effective at picking up detritus in the areas it passes. There are small rubber parts in the front corners that I’m guessing aid in suction around edges/walls, and these come off far too easily during normal operation. On the very first run, the right part came off, and then the left part came off on the second run. The remote control looks and feels cheap. There is no recess or other dedicated place for storing the remote on the charging base or on the bot. When in manual operation, tapping the left or right directional buttons results in quite large turning arcs, making manual operation a clumsy affair. Noticeably missing is a back/reverse button, which is odd considering the bot obviously supports this maneuver, performing it regularly during automated operation. __[ Conclusion ]__ Without being able to reliably complete its duties without regular manual intervention (at least during my testing), this product is virtually useless for its intended function. I would not recommend this product to anyone.

In comparison to let’s say the iRobot the unboxing and setup process was more difficult than it needed to be. I love the remote feature and the vacuum power it has it second to none, 10x better than the iRobot. There’s definitely room for improvement for the price range honestly but, overall a good product. Being a Samsung product I had higher expectations.

I have always been a HUGE Samsung fan but this was the worst investment I have ever made! It can barely manage to get onto the area rug in the living room. I had to remove all the other rugs in the house. It always dies under the couch and now it only works for 2 minutes at a time before you get an error code saying the beater bar is clogged but it's completely clean and this is on a wood floor. totally wish I never bought it
