It works great for movies. You will feel sitting in theater while watching movies like Dune 2. Really easy to setup. No issues connecting to LG tv. Music sounds good too but need little work. Download smartthings samsung app to edit the settings. Works great with Airplay and Bluetooth.

As I have recently moved into a new house, the layout of the living room just would not work with my big speaker surround sound system. Amazingly this Samsung Sound Bar has won the prize for best sound, and competing with my previous big speaker setup. I have to say I am very pleased with this purchase and was absolutely worth it. If you enjoy watching movies, the Dolby Atmos sound and music coming from these speakers sound absolutely amazing. I have had several compliments, and comments stating our living room sounds like a movie theater.

Ive had my 990c for a few months now, and as far as im concerned, its just average. I say that because, in my opinion, alot of people are buying this not just for movies, but to listen to their music as well. For movies, its pretty good...but the subwoofer is absolutely useless...the 8 inch sub on the vizio in my office is actually MUCH better! Samsung should be apologizing to everyone who bought this for including such a horrible subwoofer! The wireless rear speakers are also pretty weak, but do the job. You'll still need 2 ac outlets to plug them in, so if they're not handy to where you want to place them, you'll need extension cords, thanks to the ridiculously short 4 foot cords you get. As far as music, i found the 990c to be just "ok". Again, the subwoofer just kills this thing...at any kind of lower volume, youll find yourself checking to see if its even on. I wish i could love this thing, but i dont. The $300 Vizio in my office actually sounds better. Honestly, unless you absolutely MUST have wireless rear speakers, save yourself a thousand plus dollars and check some other bars out there, like Vizio, or the JBL bar 900, or 1000, because this thing just isnt worth the price at all.

Sounds great. The atmos surround is awesome. I have a slightly tapered cathedral ceiling and it doesn’t seem to affect the vertical sound. I would definitely recommend this speaker. This soundbar is definitely capable of being loud. I have never played it over 50 and we normally only have the volume on 25. The price is definitely a little steep but when compared to other speakers and systems it’s comparable.

Sound is great. I wasn’t looking for one with surround speakers but got this because of the extra inputs so I can add other devices. The sound it great. Setup was really simple. The satellite speakers are immersive. At first my husband and I kept looking over our shoulders like what was that sound in the kitchen?? :) now that we’re use to them it’s a great addition.

Had an older sound bar and convinced myself that it could only get so much better and that spending for a new one wouldnt make any difference. I was wrong, this thing has good audio quality, and the woofer really makes you feel the impacts. Always waiting for the days I have the house to myself so I can crank it all the way and immerse myself.

I had the Q930C for about 3 months and had a issue with it . So they refunded my money and I decided to get the Q990C and I wasnt expecting such a big difference in the sound quality . It definitely exceeded my expectations. I would definitely pick this one up if you want that awesome theatre sound quality In Dolby Atmos from all angles . You will absolutely not be disappointed . These speakers delivers.

The good, bad and ugly of this very expensive toy. I took a few months to actually buy this top line soundbar and am glad I bought it. I also bought the Samsung S95C OLED TV within that timeframe after returning the S90C model to upgrade. After originally purchasing the S90C and a nice Sonos soundbar for it I realized the hard way that only a Samsung soundbar would actually show a volume level number like a “6” or “8” on the tv when adjusting my audio volume level so I returned the Sonos for a cheaper Samsung Soundbar. I have grandkids that like to watch tv and I live in a condo with neighbors both above and below me, the max sound volume level being displayed on the tv is important. I tell them to never go over a level 10 with the volume so my neighbors won’t be disturbed. Well I realized the cheaper soundbars sound absolutely horrible and tinny. I took a few back and kept upgrading within the Samsung line of soundbars. Finally after the HW-Q800C was less than impressive I just bit the bullet a bought the Q990C for $1400 as it was $500 off. I am finally happy with the audio quality for my new setup. The real bad part is Samsung SmartThings App that lets me control the soundbar with many things I could not do without the app. When it stays online it’s great. But it goes offline almost daily and I am sick of trying to get it back online so I am probably not going to try when it goes offline again. Samsung has so many good things but this one seemingly little issue would make me rethink Samsung as a brand to go back to. That’s a decision for the future but for now my system is working and sounding perfect.

Pro: Awesome sound quality! Con: Remote is tiny and difficult to use. Remedy: Easy set up once you down load the Samsung SmartThings app and link the device to the app. Without the app, setup of rear channels and sound settings is very difficult as the front readout screen is small and difficult to read. Highly recommend the sound settings to optimize vs OOB sound.

Love this sound bar!! The Q990C is an awesome sound bar system!! Love how it sounds with movies and music!! Especially with Dolby Atmos movies!! The sound is very clear and you hear sounds from the bar and rear speakers!! So glad I bought this system!! It’s pretty expensive but it’s worth it to have a great surround sound experience!!

If you wanted to fill your entire home with music or a movie this is the best way to do it. I still have not pushed it to max volume. 35 you have to almost yell to hear each other and there is 0 distortion. This product has changed the way I view sound bars as an audio component.

This is my 3rd Samsung sound bar I've owned. And is by far the best I've had. I bought a new Samsung 95" QN90 TV, and my older sound bar (With Q symphony) did not seem to do it justice. So I bought this one, and I can't believe how much better it sounds. I didn't know that a soundbar could produce this type of sound—very clean, clear sound. I definitely feel fully immersed in the sound when Q Symphony is used. There's also a nice feature that increases the volume of low voices in scenes where it's hard to hear the characters. I highly recommend this setup.

I have owned this system for a little over a year now and i have absolutely zero complaints about it. The sound is amazing and super clear. The surround sound works perfectly. Put on a movie or show with dolby atmos and my god its sooo good. Before this, I had an older Vizio surround sound system and this blows it out of the water. I used to have connectivity issues with the Vizio one but im happy to report that i have not had any connectivity issues with this one in the hear that I've owned it. I couldn't be happier with this system.

I recently purchased the Samsung HW-Q990C soundbar as an open-box item from Best Buy in "Excellent" condition. While the arrival experience wasn't perfect (torn shipping box, missing manuals), the sound quality is fantastic. Setup: Be prepared to spend some time on setup, especially connecting the wireless rear speakers. Configuring the soundbar with my Samsung Neo 90C TV was a bit complex, but ultimately successful. I was also able to set up SmartThings for the soundbar's advanced features. However, including more information on the purpose of certain settings in the manual would be helpful. Sound Quality: Once configured, the sound quality is truly impressive. The sound is clear, crisp, and offers a full range, making it perfect for movies, music, and TV shows. Overall: Despite the initial setup challenges, I'm very happy with the Samsung HW-Q990C soundbar. The exceptional sound quality makes it a worthwhile investment, especially for those who prioritize an immersive home theater experience. Just be prepared to invest some time getting everything set up correctly.

This soundbar does not disappoint. Given my limited space, this is was a good alternative to a dedicated AVR and speaker system. The system gets plenty loud and does indeed immerse you in the action. Voices are clear and it is nice to have the ability to turn up the center channel, bass, surround all individually.

Outstanding sound bar, delivered today. Set-up was very easy, plug and play. This system sounds so much better than the 5.1.2 sound bar that I purchased recently for another room. Music through the Bluetooth connection from my smart phone sounds absolutely phenomenal! TV and DVD audio is fantastic too. Extremely pleased!

The sound from this soundbar and speakers is really amazing compared to all of the other Samsung soundbars that I have had in the past. It really negates the need or want to use stereo surround soud for when you want high quality sound. The base and atmos are amazing.

I am a long time Samsung sound bar purchaser. This is probably my 7th unit. This system sounds fantastic. Finally Samsung added an auto calibration feature which is great. Their are 2 downsides, one the price, and the second is there is not a second subwoofer. It would be great if there was an add on option to help balance the bass.
