Thank you for purchasing the new HW-Q800C Soundbar. I am sorry to see that your initial time with your Soundbar has not been ideal.
There are a few steps you can take to troubleshoot your Soundbar.
Make sure that your software is fully up to date. The easiest way to accomplish this would be to download the SmartThings app and connect your Soundbar to Wi-Fi. This will allow you to not only download any firmware updates but also control your entire soundbar on the screen of your smart device.
Next, do a hard reset, with the Soundbar on, and press the + & - (Volume UP/DOWN) buttons on the body at the same time for at least 5 seconds. “INIT OK” appears on the display and then the Soundbar is reset.
If your wireless subwoofer is still not working correctly, please contact Samsung Customer Support for step-by-step troubleshooting or warranty assistance.

Want bass? Keep looking.

The crossover dB level is not selectable, and the equalizer controls can't increase the bass response to a level that I find acceptable. If you are a bass-lover, I'd suggest an A/V receiver paired with a decent subwoofer and speakers. I'm very disappointed, and if I would return this unit if I could get close to a full refund.

Very disappointed with set up.

I have to use the TV controller to work the volume. I will need the Geek Squad in order to make it work correctly. I just have not called them yet

Samsung $1000 home speaker

Constantly lowering and increasing volume. Need more control for bass and treble. We have a decent size home, I can't imagine having the speaker in a smaller home. Is there some way to control the volume and base?

Unimpressive sound quality.

Bad service.

Paid for this item 34 days later it breaks and they will not return, we have to send out for repair. I think a product that breaks 34 days out is a problem. The fact they don’t stand behind what they sell is sad.

I’m sorry to hear that your Samsung HW-Q800C Soundbar did not meet your expectations. This is not the quality we expect from our products.
Please try updating your Soundbars firmware.
When the Soundbar is connected to the Internet, Auto Update allows software to update automatically even when the Soundbar is turned off. You can also update by using the SmartThings app.
If not connected to the internet, you can download it onto a USB device, and then upload it to your soundbar - no wireless connection required. Connect the USB drive that contains the update firmware to the SERVICE port of the Soundbar.
1.Go to the Samsung Electronics website (www.samsung.com) → click on the “Support” option in the upper left corner.
2.Click on “Manuals & Software” from the pop-up list > TVs & Home Theater > Home Theater > Select your model
2. Download the firmware file (USB type).
3. Unzip the file to create a folder with the file name.
4. Store the created folder in a USB and then connect it to the Soundbar.
5. A sequence of “UPDATE” > “BYE” > “ON” will appear on the display 3 times. This will take around 6 minutes.
- During update, do not turn it off or remove the USB.
- If “UPDATE” does not appear on the display window, remove the power cord from the Soundbar and then reconnect it.
- When the latest version is installed, no update is performed.
- Depending on the USB type, update may not be supported.
6. After the 3 cycles are complete, the Soundbar will restart and last source used will appear on the display for about 20 seconds and then it will go off (“UPDATE” > “BYE” > “ON”) 3 times “D.IN” > off

I have had this soundbar for only a week and suddenly it wont play sound from the TV, nor can I pull it up in SmartThings. I have tried re-pairing the bar, unplugging the bar, changing the settings, and nothing. Waste of your time and money

I am sorry to hear that you are experiencing issues with the sound occasionally dropping from your HW-Q800C soundbar. You may first want to check the cable connection of the soundbar to the TV or external device to ensure it is secure, and properly connected to the correct port.
In addition to checking the connections of the soundbar, please make sure your soundbar is using the latest firmware Version. Updating the firmware on your soundbar gives you all the benefits of the latest improvements. You can update your firmware by using a USB device.
You may also want to initialize your soundbar by pressing the - and + (volume) buttons on the top of the soundbar at the same time for at least 5 seconds. “INIT OK” appears on the display and then the Soundbar is reset. Please know, this will reset all settings on the soundbar back to default; any sound adjustments will need to be performed again.
Should you continue to experience audio dropouts, and are connected wirelessly, please use the included cable to connect the soundbar to the TV. Using a wired connection instead of wireless often eliminates the issue entirely and improves the user experience.

You can optimize the audio performance for your specific content by pressing the SOUND MODE button on your remote, and then selecting the desired sound effect by choosing STANDARD, SURROUND SOUND, GAME PRO, or ADAPTIVE SOUND
You can adjust the Treble and Bass by pressing the TONE CONTROL button then use the UP/DOWN buttons to change the levels between -6 to +6.
By pressing the CH LEVEL button, you can adjust the volume of the available channels. Each time you press the CH LEVEL button it will switch to a different channel such as Center, Wide, or Front Top. After selecting the channel you wish to adjust, use the UP/DOWN buttons on the provided Soundbar remote to adjust the volume between -6 to +6.
If you would like louder (or softer) bass from your subwoofer, you can adjust the level by rocking the WOOFER button on the soundbar remote, and then adjusting the level from -6 to +6. To set the subwoofer volume level to 0, press the button in.

Nice Soundbar and remote speakers

Sound bar cues up instantly with my Samsung TV, no remotes needed to cancel out or override built-in TV speakers. Also no speaker wires for rear speakers and woofer, just power cords. I was able to hide them easily under furniture. Very close to a theatre experience with my 85" Samsung TV. If my wife would let me crank up the volume it could be a true cinematic experience. The optional adaptive sound mode is a nice feature and makes the dialogue easier to hear as well.

The sound is good and it allows me to set the center channel (where voices are) and a higher level. Also I like the sound enhancement (Q-connect) to my Samsung TV where the TV speakers are used inaddition to the sound bar.
