    I got a new compact samsung fridge specifically because it offered this ice maker add on. Installing wasn’t hard but wasnt the easiest. If you go slowly it should be manageable. As a somewhat handy person it still took me about one and hald hours going very slowly and taking my time with the cabling. I also had to install a water line, drill the holes through the cabinets and then run through a water filter before attaching to this machine. That said after installing the machine has been making great ice the last two days. Be warned the first batches of ice take a while for the machine to get to the proper temp. Im talking like 6+ hours for the first batch. After the first two batches the ice is made far quicker. I saw a review saying the ice doesnt drop by itself. Not the case for me. Its possile the review was made for the first couple of batches which took forever to drop. Otherwise if this machine has any negative so far its that they didnt include a small scoop for the ice box

    We purchased a refrigerator and icemaker with install scheduled for 7/18/24. Prior to delivery we read everything about the icemaker and tested our water line for functioning and completed the checklist that Best Buy sent to us. The water line was functioning well. We were notified buy one of the delivery people that they would not hook the water line up because "it was plastic" (however, the line that it was to be connected to was plastic). No where did it state in anything we read, the checklist (sent to us by Best Buy) we completed or the invoice we received was there any info about needing something other than the functioning line we had in place. My husband heard the delivery people discussing the icemaker and heard them say they didnt know how to install an icemaker. One person spoke up and said he installed one on a GE years ago. This is a Samsung. They spent a great deal of time in the driveway attempting to install it reading the icemaker installation instructions, and then stated finally that it was complete and they brought the refrigerator in, plugged it in, and said it was ready to go. We connected the water line to the icemaker line. Later that day, the freezer cooled to freezing temperature, the "test button" on the icemaker showed that the motor function worked. The owner's manual instructions said to turn on the icemaker. We did not know if the delivery people actually did this, we did not see them do it. It was unclear what "on" or "off" was because the toggle button did not clearly state (one side had a white dot, the other didn't, we dont know which is on or off). We flicked the switch , (not knowing if we turned it on or turned it off), waited hours, and no ice. So we turned the switch to the other position, waited overnight, and no ice. This is not our primary home, and we are leaving today to go back to our primary home in NC so we will be turning our water line off and will try again when we return next week. INCREDIBLY FRUSTRATING!!!!!

    Quick Connect Auto Ice Maker was installed by professional team sent by Best Buy yesterday and has not made a single ice cube yet. It has been over 24 hours.

    Having the same issue as other reviewers. This ice maker doesn't work. Surprised the Samsung has such a shoddy product.

    We've tried everything and can't get it to work. Apparently, about 1/3 of these units don't work. Best Buy's return window is really short, so we're out of luck.

    The ice maker only works if you press the manual override, it never automatically drops the ice
