Both middle and lower dish racks are rusting

I purchased this Samsung dishwasher in a suite that included a Samsung french door refrigerator with flex drawer, Samsung Electric Double oven/range and Samsung convection/microwave. When I noticed that both the middle and lower rack prongs were rusting, I contacted Samsung. They promptly informed me I was 3 days out of my one year warranty (from purchase date, not date of installation - which is less than one year) and they would not cover the parts. Now I have to purchase these parts (a couple hundred dollars at least) out of my own pocket. If I have to do this every year, I might as well throw this dishwasher out and purchase another brand. On a side note, I've had to replace the new refrigerator's ice maker twice (less than one year old), the electric double oven/range preheat is not accurate and it takes an additional 10-15 minutes to preheat and finally the convection part of the microwave doesn't appear to heat properly as well (although the microwave part does work). Bottom line, based on my experience, I wouldn't recommend Samsung appliances to anyone! We formerly had GE profile appliances for 15 years and never had anywhere close to these types of problems, especially in the first year.

    Poor Design

I bought this unit as part of a package for my kitchen. The one I bought has the third rack on top for small things. I like this for my plastic container tops. Not so happy with the spots on everything, however. As long as you keep rinse agent in it at all times, it does fairly well at keeping spots at bay. My old machine never needed it, so I am not sure why this one does. Cycles are also really long - 2 plus hours, and it still won't clean off dried on foods. The rack design is also flawed - dishes are placed at a really weird angle going in, and the bottom one does slip off the track sometimes as others have complained about. In addition, did I mention that I am still waiting on the rebate check from Samsung for buying a package deal that I was promised almost a year ago! I have emailed incessantly, and still have never received it. Worst customer service ever. This is combined with the fact that I just had my nine month old refer/freezer unit replaced because the ice maker never worked. I won’t be buying ANYTHING from Samsung ever again.

    get a Bosch

    Posted

We had a Bosch dishwasher before this purchase and wish we still had it. The Samsung is quite loud at start and cycle change moments, not what we would have thought from reading all of the reviews here. The Bosch we never knew was running except for seeing the red light on the floor, the Samsung there is no mistaking when it is on. Additionally, the silverware caddy's are not as flexible in use as the Bosch ones ~you could put the lids down to use them for larger items, whereas the Samsung ones you can not. And the caddy's are not secure, they lean when you put silverware in them and fall off - there is no 'snap-on' connection to the shelf like on the Bosch. Then the back racks on the bottom that can fold down just move on their own - they also do not snap in and stay. Frustrating, poor design, feels cheap. SUPER DISAPPOINTED, I would never buy a Samsung dishwasher again, from here on out only Bosch. On a positive note, the black stainless is nice and does not seem to be a magnet for fingerprints and the dishes have been getting clean.

    Repeat Wash Cycles

We bought this washer to match the suite of black stainless steel appliances (fridge, range, micro). While the other pieces work fine, the dishwasher is hard to love. We are constantly having to run the washer twice to get our dishes clean. We are excellent rinsers, so it's frustrating to know this machine cannot keep up with washing our dishes clean. If you like running cycles more than once, this machine is for you. I also don't like the black stainless steel. I don't care what anyone says, once you have the entire suite, they look too harsh and dark in a kitchen. We're ditching the black steel once these babies croak. I'd be happier with the smudges than feeling like I have four dark objects in my home.

    New to dishwashers

I have always washed my own dishes until this past year when I have begun to venture into trying out dishwashers. A home that I bought had an area built in ready to install a dishwasher. First I tried a pretty inexpensive one..wasted a lot of electric and water for NOTHING. This one even with Storm wash is not anywhere near close to what a dish would be like if I washed it and definitely still uses lots of water. Takes hours of electric. I can wash things off perfectly clear to the sight and they still don't come out any different so I feel like I am doing the washing anyway. I bought the upgraded Storm wash dishwasher for help in these areas but either I am missing something or it is not all that. Guess is a good sanitizer if you don't mind the disgust of water sitting in your dishes until you dry them off. A $30 dish drainer works better.

Needed to replace a 15+ year old fridge, ended up replacing all of our kitchen appliances. Went with Samsung because the oven was the best fit for the space. The dishwasher was quiet with a powerful wash and a spot-free rinse. Less than two weeks after delivery, we woke up with the machine beeping with a leak error code, and trying to go into rinse cycle. When we turned it off, it came on by itself and did the same thing. We unplugged it, called Best Buy and set up a product swap since it was less than 15 days from delivery. I can't imagine the same problem occurring with the replacement but we'll see.

We bought this brand and model because it matched our refrigerator. This is a quiet machine and it does a fair job of cleaning dishes. While it is a standard size unit, the amount of rack space feels small compared to our prior machine. We also have found some odors coming from the unit from time to time. We also had a problem when soon after installation we discovered that the door hinges were causing a loud noise during closure. This was a minor repair, but not expected in a brand new unit.

Broke twice in the first three months

It cleans well, but the control panel had broken twice in the first 3 months of owning it. Last time it took them a month to replace the part, otherwise I wonder how many more times it would have burned out in this time. Terrible quality. Too bad I can't return my whole kitchen of roughly $8,000 of Samsung products, nothing but trouble. My range, and fridge have been equally unreliable.

We've had two of these now. The first one died about a month in and needed to be replaced. And then the second one dies every once in a while and I have to cut the circuit breaker for 10min for it to turn back on. It doesn't clean the dishes well unless we have all the features turned on. I think o would have been happier with the Whirlpool.

Great space, but issues with smell and error code

We loved the space in our new dishwasher, I noticed a smell immediately, that evidently is because it seals so well, there is always a damp stink in the dishwasher. I don't like to leave the door open as suggested. Our bigger problem was after 3 months of using the dishwasher (I wash every few days) we had an LC code and Samsung couldn't repair. They did refund for a new dishwasher.

Wish this dishwasher stacked my pots, pans and dishes better. Sometimes it doesn't fully dry after the door pops out when the cycle is done. Hard to clean outside panel door and around the handle. Wish I would've gotten the other brand I was contemplating. A positive: it's quiet!

    Limited space for loading.

Loading space is limited. Tall pots/pans/cookie sheets do not fit unless lying down or sideways which takes up a lot of space. The 3rd rack for flatware seems great, but it does not hold ladles (nor does the silverware basket on the bottom as it catches on the top rack). The drying feature is also very weak and my dishes always need towel drying when removed.

    Top buttons have issues

While it did a decent job washing the dishes, there are a few flaws. The top buttons were hard to press down and stopped working completely. The two utensil compartments are detachable nut do not stick to the wall front of the dishwasher. I wouldn't recommend this particular model, returned and bought another brand.

Dishwasher pop open to dry, sometimes water backs into the dishwasher. No short cycles. It's a nice style with blue lights. I think I could have found a better dishwasher but will use until I need replacement

This dishwasher cleans ok and I like the top drawer that is great for large items. The front is rusting, but it was supposedly stainless. Also the covers on the silverware tray have all busted off.

Had to purchase to save more dollars on same brand appliances but miss my old dishwasher which was same dollars but much better appliance. Very flimsy inside and has little room. Does look very nice in the room and seems to clean efficiently.

Have had nothing but torment with this dishwasher. It doesn’t always power up. Sometimes it turns off in mid cycle. It’s nice and quiet, but the racks are cheap. Don’t think this one is going to last.
