Dishes come out clean and the auto release when the cycle is finished is great to prevent odors and dishes that don't dry completely. Everything works as expected but it does get kind of loud, not a deal breaker but something to get used to.

It's great to hear that this dishwasher is a great fit for your household. Here is a link that outlines the causes of potential noises that you may hear during operation (http://bit.ly/2EEup2E). Thank you for choosing Samsung. ^Lo Samsung

It's a little loud but our home is an open concept so everything seems a little louder than a home with more walls between rooms. all in all the dishwasher cleans very well love the 60min fast wash setting and the stainless steel is a nice fit as we are slowly remodeling our kitchen atm.

I've had this dishwasher for 2 months now and do not like it. I've to pre-wash the dishes before putting them in the dishwasher. I had a LG prior to this that was much quieter and performed better.

Dishwasher works great. Only issue is black rubber flap that is a noise barrier and water protector came out and hung over kickplate. Geek squad coming to fix

    Machine isn't that quiet

Beware of decibel ratings. The difference between 44 decibels and 54 decibels is TEN fold. A 46db machine would be twice as loud as a 44db machine. We bought this machine to replace a Bosch machine, now we are sending it back to replace it with another Bosch. I read all the great reviews and thought I would save a few bucks and get the Samsung. Everyone said how quiet the machine was, obliviously they never owned a Bosch or Kitchen aid. Yes this is quieter than your typical $350 machine, but its NOT quiet. I opened my Bosch machine several times over the years to find it was running full steam ahead. Bosch installed a light to illuminate the floor to tell you its on, that's quiet. I own a lot of Samsung products that I do like, but its either people really do not know what quiet is or they had really, really loud dishwashers before. Either way this is an average machine. You want real quiet look elsewhere. Three stars is pushing it.

We had a 5yr old Samsung, that was super loud and the buttons were on the front. We were always bumping the buttons and stopping it during a wash cycle. This new one has button on the top and can only be accessed when the door is opened. Also the door opens when the cycle is complete

This dishwasher was a let down for me. I expected more from Samsung at this price point. No complaint on the sleek exterior. Interior drawers and slides were cheaply build. Washing was ok but a little noisy. I returned this prodect as I did think it would stand the test of time.

Had to replace our GE dishwasher. Could not find a GE with stainless steel tub and lots of features under $600 so I chose this Samsung. It matches our kitchen because the front is clean without any labels or buttons. Runs super quiet. We were concerned it was not working the first time since it was much quieter than our last dishwasher. It is hard to hear when it's on. Only issue is its loud when the water drains. Beyond that I'd highly recommend due to quietness, cleanliness of dishes (run on heavy duty) and quality overall.

    Very disappointed

I purchased what I believed were high quality Samsung appliances - 4 of them - and I am very disappointed. I paid to have three appliances installed including this dishwasher. Two days later the dishwasher smelled like a sewer. I called and had to wait a week for service. While waiting, the bottom rubber flap fell down which is supposed to help quiet the noise. Tech came and had to re-work the hoses going from dishwasher to the drain/garbage disposal because the installer did it wrong. Fixed flap. Looked at double oven radiant range while there. Showed him pictures. A week later the flap fell down and the dishwasher still smells. Never had this before . . living here 16 years. With flap hanging, dishwasher is LOUD. Tech coming again Friday. Service tech on phone told my husband to "cut the flap off." Poorly designed but it is sleek looking. Rather have a quality product the seller backs. I will keep calling if the flap falls down. Very disappointed with product and Best Buy salesman whi never responded to my emails or calls.

I purchased this dishwasher on a whim because my local store had an open box for a FANTASTIC price. I already had a Frigidaire Gallery plastic tub dishwasher that came with my home, but it was so LOUD, as my bedroom shares a wall with the kitchen wall that contains the dishwasher. Going from 52dBA down to 48dBA really made a difference! I don't hear that sucker at all! Our electric bill and water bill have been dropping as well due to the lack of heat coil like our old one had. The condensation dry makes a big difference with energy usage. Plus, when the cycle is finished, the dishwasher plays a cute little song to alert you. So far the quick wash has been my life saver. A quick 60 minute wash, as opposed to my old one taking almost double that to perform it's quick wash cycle, is a godsend. The black stainless steel matches my other appliances perfectly (all are Samsung, except for the Frigidaire range). The Geek Squad installers did a great job getting the old one out and the new one in. After the install, they even explained how to use some of the features and what to expect. 10/10 would recommend!

I'm very happy with my purchase and the Storm Wash feature is a great addition. The standard wash time is a little long (just shy of 3 hours without the Storm Wash), but there is the express that you can add storm wash to that and it's just about 1 hr 10 minutes. It's a lot quieter than the decibels listed indicate...I really only hear the actual dishes as they're sprayed and of course the draining in my sink. Some dishes don't get cleaned, but I don't think this is the machine's error. It usually happen when you over stack your dishes, so they're not exposed to the spray, especially in express mode, so that's more user error. The door popping open at the end is kind of a nice feature as well, just make sure if your dishwasher is set under a cabinet or you have wood countertops to stick the steam shield on the bottom. You can measure the size and cut it out and stick it under your cabinet so you don't see it, but can preserve your wood. The song at the end is a little long and excessive, but there is a way to disable it; I haven't because it doesn't bother me, just my wife. :) The adjustable top rack is a very nice feature too particularly if you have taller wine glasses on top or taller pots/wider pans on the bottom. Like all dishwashers I have purchased in the past, you gotta love the stainless steel interior and the removable rack is nice as well. You can fit a day's worth of dishes inside, the caveat is that we're a family of two, so keep that in mind. I highly recommend this product for anyone. For the price, you get a lot of the 'bells and whistles' of some of the more expensive machines.

We haven't used the storm wash feature of this unit. We just use the 60 minute "quick" cycle as we don't like to put a lot of gunk into the machine. @@@@@@@@ And are not into programming this beast! @@@@@@@ Sometimes the dog even does the prewash! I don't know how easy it's to get the chunks of gunk out the bottom like I had to do every other year with the old cheap Kenmore. That cheapie still works, but the timer would hang up. 10 years was long enough. The new Samsung is quieter as it's not the bottom of the line unit. There is a bunch of insulation on it compared to the old unit. It is also surrounded in stainless steel. I got it to match the Samsung 3 door refrigerator that we got last year (even though the handles on the $300 base unit would have matched better. @@@@@@@ The unit pops open at the end of the cycle and because it gets the water so hot it does not have a heating element in it. It just opens and an air fan on the top blows the vapor out into the room. I don't think it gets the dishes as dry as the old unit, but the wife says it's fine, so it's! Others have complained of this. I don't like the door popping open about 8 inches ( which it has to do to vent the vapor), but again, the wife likes that feature! We haven't used the full wash cycles because they run over 2 hours! That's nuts as the unit does make some noise and we assume that it would use more water and electricity as well. But when we have a big party, I know it will get the job done. It seems to have more space inside- the upper rack is easily adjustable and holds tall glasses, etc. This was an open box and the sales manager gave us a great price on it- like the base model. Still waiting for the kick plate, though.

    Buy a Bosch

This is the worst dishwasher I've ever owned and I really don't understand all the good reviews. I purchased a Samsung stainless steel suite of appliances to replace perfectly functioning white appliances. The dishwasher we replaced was a Bosch. We've owned Bosch dishwashers in the past but didn't want to spend the extra money this time so went with the Samsung (and wanted to get the suite discount Samsung at the time was offering). I regret my purchase every time I use the Samsung (which is multiple times per week). 1. It's louder than the Bosch, even though they are supposed to be the same dBAs. 2. I'm actually surprised if all the dishes come out clean. Just about every single load I pull out at least one dish that's still dirty and has to be washed again. 3. It has a really ugly black flap at the bottom that makes no sense to us. It's ugly (looks almost commercial) and doesn't really seem to be useful. 4. I've a hard time fitting my dishes inside. The top rows don't seem big enough for most of our cups/glasses and the bottom seems like everything is angled the wrong way (the back row is fine, but the other rows don't allow you to put plates in the same direction). So if you have more than one row of plates/bowls, you have to just put them in however they'll fit because they'll not fit in a nice row like the back does. 5. I run every load on Heavy + Storm Wash. Most of the loads are normal loads that shouldn't require anything special but because the dishwasher is junk that's what I've to do...and still don't come out with a fully-washed load...and no, I don't overfill it. I also use Finish Powerball detergent which I've never had an issue with before. 6. I like the idea of the auto open feature that helps dry the dishes, but because it has that feature, you can't just rest the door on the latch if you don't want to close it all the way. You have to close it every single time or it stays open. In summary, I will never buy another Samsung dishwasher and regret my purchase. In seeing all these reviews (which I did read before making the purchase) most of you're enjoying the dishwasher which is great. But it frustrates me so much that I wanted to make sure that others understand its limitations because if you're on the fence, I highly recommend you get a Bosch.
