First, the sleek design looks great in our media cabinet. This player is easy to set up & in just a couple minutes we were streaming Netflix. Love the ability to download a variety of apps like Hulu, Amazon, WatchESPN, weather, Youtube and a bunch more. UHD picture looks great steaming or playing a BluRay. The remote is small, but I like that & it was pretty easy to program it to my tv. (Does not have backlit buttons). Overall, we’re very happy w/ this purchase!

Bought this Blu-ray player to go along with my 4K UHD HDR 55" TV and the picture quality is amazing. Also does a great job up scaling normal blu-rays. So much better actually than the previous Samsung Blu-ray players. I honestly believe this version produces the best picture and sound I've ever experienced. Wow, what a movie experience!

No complaints yet for this 4K blu ray player. I just connected it and Havre only watched 1 movie, that not being a 4K movie, but the play back was responsive with good picture quality. I'm anxious to see how a 4K movie will look! I haven't had any bad experiences with Samsung products so i expect this will not be a disappointment.

It was time for an upgrade. I wanted to get a 4K Ultra DVD/Blu-Ray player that would allow to still view all of my DVD collection without having to purchase them all over again. I was glad to find this device at Best Buy. The picture quality is stellar, and the additional ability to stream Netflix, Hulu, YouTube, and Amazon Prime is awesome. My only complaint is that the remote control that came packaged with the player was dead on arrival. I had to buy a universal remote just to finish the setup procedures. Still, I absolutely love this player and would recommend to anyone who owns a 4K Ultra TV and still wants to hold on to their DVD collection.

I’ve owned Sony’s & toshiba’s TVs in the past. This is my first Samsung & it is truly a high dynamic tv to watch. Add a Samsung sound bar & it’s a real “live” entertainment experience to thrill the senses. Fairly easy to set up as well. Good price range.

Let me start off with a few things I don't like about this player: It's a bit noisey, BUT it seems to only be that way when the movie isn't playing, so that's good. I also expect a bit of noise since the format is new, and I can only assume later models will get quieter and better at that. Another thing though, the player shuts off without warning sometimes. I think that's due to overheating, so I just cleared some space around it and that seemed to fix it, so that's good too and again can only expect the technology/models to get better as time goes on. Other than that, it does it's job and made me very happy to eliminate one controller from the coffee table, as I have a 2017 Samsung 9000 and the remote is universal in that aspect. I would recommend this for price, if you're okay without the extra bells and whistles from the step up model. I'd also recommend waiting if you're still on the fence with the format, because like I've said, next year's model should only be better.

Plug and play. Super simple setup. Going through standard wifi setup etc is completely painless and intuitive. Picture quality and ease of use is top notch as has come to be expected of Samsung products. Would recommend and/or repurchase.

I had high hopes for this Samsung player. The set up was quick and easy, everything was up and running, including the streaming apps. The 5.1 surround was perfect. The only negative on the sound was a pop or click would come out of various speakers when changing chapters on a bluray or going into menus, and after each segment or preview before the movie started. The clicking was annoying so I called Samsung help and the rep said it was normal on all the new line of players. OK, I can live with that annoyance. Then I put in a Disney movie, Nightmare before Christmas, listened to the clicks and pops after each of the many, many previews and after the final preview, when the main menu should have displayed, the screen went completely blank and black. I tried several more times but the movie would not play. I have played this bluray many times on my PS3 with no problem. I packed it up and returned to Best Buy tonight for a refund. The clerk was very polite and the store’s refund policy is very accommodating. Why is it so hard to make something that works correctly? It is a mystery.

Easy set up, easy to operate, good prompts. The picture quality is very good. I bought this for compatibility to my new Samsung 4K television which probably helped in the great results. But from what I could see I am confident other 4K televisions would also be an easy set up. I have in the past bought other Samsung products with good results. Not topof the line but it does it all for me.

This is a very nice machine, I had no issues hooking it up. Very fast and great picture. It does not come with the 2.0 HDMI cable (which is not right). The remote is small and well built but is all black and not backlit.

Bought the 8500 so I could watch 4K movies. It seems to be a great player, the operating system is simple to navigate and unlike some other reviews I like the small, basic remote. I can tell an improvement in the picture over regular bluray movies, which I was watching on my PS4, before this purchase. I have not had a chance to watch a non 4K bluray movie on it yet to compare its upscaling capabilities. It's worth the money to get this unit, especially with the savings compared to the newer 9500 model.

This was an early Christmas present from my wife this year we recently got a 4k tv so of course we needed to get a 4k player too glad we did big difference awesome picture easy to set up very happy with purchase

I had bought a 4K samsung TV and wanted a blu ray player to go with it so I saw this one. It supports the 4K and supports wifi. It was more expensive that others but I think it will be worth it in the long run.

So far so good as I'm new to Blue Ray picture. Using this player with a new TV purchase as well and the combination is dynamite. It's like I'm in the picture. Easy plug-n-play set-up and remarkable picture.

Purchased this player to watch 4K disc on my 4K tv. Set up process is very simple and didn't take too long but you need to update the firmware right after that. At first the player could not access my home wi-fi but it finally did after about half and hour later. Not sure why. Had the non-wireless version 7500 on another 4K TV and I must say that I prefer the non-wireless version. It seemed to have a slightly different menu. Watching 4K on this player is alright but you need a 4K TV with HDR to take see the picture quality

After a month of using this player, it has met all my expectations and much more! Easy to setup, and I really like how fast it connects to the Internet, Netflix, Amazon Prime, etc., plus the picture quality is excellent. The only Con for me: if you have big hands, be gentle with the tiny remote buttons! While it does not take much pressure to activate them, it took me awhile to get used to their feel. Overall, it's an outstanding player for the money!.

Samsung does it again. I tested the Sony, LG and Samsung with my Pioneer Elite VSX-90 home theater receiver and my Samsung SUHD 8500 series HDTV. All HDR capable with true 4:4:4 passthrough. HDMI 2.2 compliant. In other words, every component shakes hands properly! The Samsung wins hands down in every aspect. The picture is highly detailed from a 4K blu-ray disc beyond anything I could ever imagine! Great extra online content displays in all its 4K glory. Even the menus and options are in 4K! This is an amazing product with very fast load times too. YouTube 4K looks stunning. No choppines whatsoever. Finally, listen to FLAC music on the available USB port. A true dream machine!
