I purchased a Samsung Atmos sound bar to get add to the experience. The trick with a 4K TV is needing 4K material, so a 4K Blu-Ray player made sense. To take advantage of Atmos you need an external device to connect via your sound bar. The UBD-M8500 provided the best of both at a good price. It supports Atmos, so UHD Atmos Blu-Rays look and sound awesome. If you want to stream a 4k UHD Atmos from Vudu, this player is perfect. I am picky and this made me happy!

I’ve always been a big fan of Samsung, and this Blu-Ray players no exception. Fast processing, great downloading and streaming with our Gigabit Ethernet connection. Works great wired and wireless. Great value for the money!

It actually was more that what we needed in a player. We ended up returning it and got a lower end player (only because we did not need all the bells and whistles). Would recommend to anyone who likes all the extra's and bells and whistles.

Easy to hook up, Smart TV automatically detected it and went through the start-up procedure to get it on your home network & controlled through the TV. Great picture, easy to use!

After reviewing what was offered at BestBuy and having a Samsung TV I decided to go with this one. I like that it is very slim line, that the remote is close to what controls the tv so I don't have to learn too many new buttons (helpful in a dark room).

They have addressed all the issues from their first 4K player. The picture this player produces on a 4K TV is simply outstanding. HDR is right on the money. Sound options depending on your setup is all you want. Load times are fast not just for 4K discs, but for all formats as well. A really solid effort from Samsung. Finally Samsung got this 4K BD player right.

It does a great job with 4K discs. I didn't plan to use the smart TV features of this unit but I have been duly impressed with them. I normally use Roku for streaming services but I have started to use this device instead as the video quality appears to be slightly better and the user interface is easy to use.

Owned for 3 months when reviewed.This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Stayed with Samsung as TV and sound bar are same, this replaced a theater type system and rather than go with all the external speakers, just linked the HDMI to the TV and let the sound bar take over - and happy with the setup and results. Upgraded to the 4K - why not - and very pleased with that decision when matched to the TV.....WOW. It was time to upgrade! Setup and connections were a breeze, and we had 4K movies in 15 minutes. Well worth the price and very pleased with the purchase and installation.
