We were looking for an inexpensive DVD player that would also play Blu Ray discs. This player fills the bill for us. It is relatively inexpensive, and the picture and sound quality seem to be pretty good. Note: While it is listed as a streaming BD player, you can't stream over wifi. If you are going to stream, you have to have a wired internet connection. This didn't bother us, since we have a Roku for streaming on our main TV, and our bedroom TV streams quite well. We could have bought a streaming DVD player, but it would have been somewhat more expensive.

Works as advertised. One of my favorite features is the ability to EASILY play movies from a thumb drive such as MP4, MPG and WMV. The only thing lacking is a light to indicate whether power is on or off (or at least mine didn't have a light that worked).

I got this so I could watch DVDs on my TV without having to attach my laptop via HDMI cable. So far, the item works great. Would be really great for someone with a regular TV, who wants to convert it into a smart TV (as it comes with access to Netflix, HBOGo, etc.). Very good for the price as well.

I decided to upgrade from DVD player to Blu=Ray. The Best Buy person in the section went over the different players, seeing I did not want a WiFi or smart player as my WiFi is very limited, so no streaming, she recommended this one. So far I am very happy with it and the price was right.

I bought this originally as dvd/Blu-ray player for the bedroom tv. I like it so much that I now use it on my main TV. It is a solid basic player with a small physical profile and footprint taking up little space. Easy to operate with a nice picture and audio.

Lots of user friendly apps and easily configured to your preferences. The only complaint is that there is no is power indicator on the unit so you never know if it is on or not.

I like a power indicator light:missing. Freezes, unplug it recconect it and it works again. Quality is just as good as the more expensive ones. Netflix, amazon links included...

nice price, nice picture. Wanted to give my parents a nice gift for Christmas but did not want to spend a lot. Also gives them the ability to use other accessories like Netflix and others. Would definitely recommend Best Buy services to other members of my family and my friends.

Very easy assembly requiring just one cord to hook up. So far this blu-ray player works good. I personally don't love the look but it is small and black which is ideal. I do wish it had a light to know if it was on or off.

I keep two disc players on my system, just in case I get a disc that won't properly play on one of the units. This player was on sale at a reasonable price, puts out a quality picture, boots up much more quickly than the other older unit I have, and is easy to set-up and use. It's not a unit that is full of audiophile features to tweak, or refined electronics to enhance the picture. An inexpensive way to increase the capability of my home theater set-up without breaking my budget.

Awesome player that gives you an excellent picture quality and decodes the hi-def audio codecs. In addition, this device prevents you from buying any streaming device because it has numerous streaming apps included, like Netflix. The price does makes it an awesome buy.

I have been using this blu-ray player for about 2 months and to tell you it for the money it was a bargain. Plays blu-rays and dvds, has many of the popular apps also great. I highly recommend the Samsung - BD-J5100/ZA - Streaming Blu-ray Player

Only negative review would be it has no on/off power indicator/light. Otherwise it's a great DVD player at a very reasonable price and I like its small, compact size.

We purchased this primarily for playing regular movie DVDs since our old DVD player finally went out. It was just a few bucks more for Blu-ray than regular DVD so we bought this. Really only use to watch DVDs but look forward to using it to stream as well.

We chose this DVD player one, because it was a Samsung and two, because of the price, it was on sale, below $100.00 and also plays Blue Ray. Given the unit is all black, it can be hard to see the buttons to negotiate start up of your movie if you don't use the remote. It also feels a little cheaply made when it comes to the outer shell, but we have had absolutely NO problems or issues with playing movies; the picture is crisp and clear. Probably should have gotten the next model up in the Samsung line, but this will do. Set up was really easy to integrate with our current components.

My girlfriend and I bought a tv from Best Buy for Christmas ,but didn't have a bluray player. Since we had a smart tv we just wanted a simple bluray player. This is a great quality bluray player for the price! The picture quality of great on our tv!

Easy to connect takes 10 minutes just plug it in and connect the optical cable. Subwoofer is wireless through Wi-Fi just need to be plugged in. Bluetooth connects right away no problem sounds Beautiful

This blue ray player is great for the price. It is a little loud when changing chapters or doing anything else with the disc. I couldn't get it to respond to my speaker system universal remote either, but again, get what you pay for. Picture is great, easy to set up, remote is intuitive, and it has a low profile. The apps are, well, typical- you have access to like 200 but only really would ever use like 5. Good DVD and BR player overall.

Love this bluray player the only downfall so far is when its on theres no indicator light on the front that lets you know the player is on. This also includes pandora, netflix and hulu I believe, but I didnt have any need for those as I have those on my smart tv...but for those of you who dont have a smart this would be a great buy at $60 to be able to have those capabilities for a regular tv....good investment GREAT picture when watching a bluray

I bought this about a month ago, works great and easy install. It works just fine, no issues to report. I mostly use it got Netflix, Hulu, and Amazon streaming,too bad it doesn't support HBO Go.
