    SONY version of this player is total piece of junk ... this model seems to be functioning at least as advertised and expected.

    I bought this DVD player because I have a Samsung tv that is great. The DVD player worked for a week, then nothing won't even turn on. Got another it worked for a couple weeks, then it quit working. Giant piece of junk.

    Total junk! WiFi performance sucks. Sometimes even the oem remote doesn't turn the unit on and control it. Brand new dvd doesn't play didn't even last a week. Didn't return as I bought a Sony off of amazon and did t want to be bothered

    I've had another Samsung Blu Ray for 5+ years, and it is junk. If you have an old player l, better update so you can enjoy Smart features as well as greater reliability and solid construction.

    I haven't even had this Blu-ray player for a year, and it is already broken. I used it a handful of times, and now it doesn't work. Stay away from this piece of junk.

    No on off light is just ridicules !!!! Every time I want to stream content this device is somehow disconnected from my wireless network & I need to reconfigure it all over again. The unit sits next to my internet connected Samsung TV that is always connected to the same wireless network and works perfectly, I can't t return this Samsung junk to Best Buy soon enough.

    This player constantly freezes requiring it to be unplugged to reset. I'd return it but didn't find out what a piece of junk it is until after the return time. I'd give it zero stars if I could.

    One of the best blu ray players. I had another blu ray player, different manufacturer. It was complete junk. This player doesnt lose the wifi or stop. I just love this player.

    Absolute Unreliable Junk

    I have 5 DVD players in my home, all purchased from Best Buy over the years which are in multiple rooms in my house, with AV systems. My only Blu-ray player is a Sony 3D Blue-ray in my home theater which has a 144" screen, linked to a very expensive Epson 3D HD projector. I was wanting a second Blu-ray player to replace the standard player in our bedroom, so I purchased this one last week. Anyway, I got it home and set it up to connect by Wifi to my Direct TV router. Setup went like a breeze and quickly had it accessing my Wifi. Then launched into Amazon Prime and explored its capabilities with Prime. This first time using it, it seemed to work fine, while drilling down through Amazon Prime offerings. Several days later, I attempted to watch some YouTube clips and after displaying the opening screen showing all the streaming options (displaying the icons for Netflix, Hulu, Amazon Prime, YouTube, etc), it froze on the options screen and would not launch any of them. Out of frustration, and trying to trouble-shoot it, I tried to turn it off with the power buttons on the remote and nothing happened. It kept displaying the frozen options screen. The player was totally unresponsive to the remote and did nothing. So, next I went to the buttons on the unit itself and tried to turn it off. No response whatever. Would not turn off or on. The options screen continued to display and would not go away. So, next I tried to open the DVD tray, by pushing the eject button on the player itself, to see if I could insert a DVD and it did not respond. It acted as if it was not even plugged in, so I checked the power cord and it was plugged in and I knew it was junk since it did continue to display the streaming options screen. This thing is an absolute piece of junk. Don't waste your time or money in dealing with the sorry excuse for a DVD player. As a result of this, I will absolutely stay away from ALL Samsung DVD players. The only thing I would depend on with Samsung is their smart phones and their flat screen tv's.

    complete piece of junk. Remote can power down unit, but not power up. Wi-Fi sets up correctly and connects, but unit hangs when trying to access any online service (Netflix, Amazon). Tried to update software and it froze. Had it less than 3 hours. complete lemon.

    Bought this unit in November, and watched 1 DVD, worked fine. Tried to use it again in May, powered on for 10 minutes and shut off, wouldn't turn back on. Tried again a week later, powered on for a few minutes and shut itself off again, wouldn't turn back on. Contacted Best Buy, and after being transferred to 3 different departments was told I could not return or exchange it and referred me to Samsung. Couldn't be more disappointed in Best Buy's commitment to their customers satisfaction, and the return policy is weak at best, probably won't be back. Thank you very little Best Buy.

    Good for disc horrible wifi

    I sellected this unit as it is the same brand as my television. I liked the size as it fitted on a condensed shelf. The first unit we bought would not even find a wifi spot, had to return. The second unit finally got it connected after an hour and it worked, although later dumped my wifi and now will not connect. I have many wifi devices in my house, including other Blu-Rays, tablets, computers, roku's, wii, etc, etc, and this is the only item I have ever purchased that was junk for wifi. If you don't want to watch netflix or amazon and only plan on watching disc go for it. Any other use, pass on it.

    I bought this blu ray player in November,and when I turn the player off,it turns itself back on. I found out by searching on the internet that lots of people are having that problem. I bought 4 year geek squad with it,but they would not replace or refund because it was still within the manufacturer warranty. Best Buy sent it back to Samsung. I don't think that will accomplish anything,because it will probably have the same problem again. I will definitely think twice before buying Samsung products in the future. If Samsung replies to my comment,I am not interested in your accuses. I want a full refund.

    Should have researched befor purchased, and should have returned. First , display is nonexistent . You can not tell if on or off . A visible LED would solve this . Always frustrating . First year early used . Second , half the time the picture plays but no sound . Have unplug from Wall one or more times . Third , picture disappears , machine unresponsive and have to unplug power . Forth , other times use remote to power up , does not turn on and neither does hitting power button on box . Unfortunately , was not fully aware of problems until just out of warrenty . Bought to be consistent with Samsung TV and sound bar . Unit is junk . May still go with Samsung replacement player but will buy warrenty and use player immediantly providing power light exists . Otherwise will go with Sony .
