This Blu Ray player is alright if you're strictly going to be using it as a Blu Ray playing machine. While it is a smart Blu Ray player, it does not mesh well with certain wireless hookups. As a fairly tech savvy person, I had some difficulty getting it to properly connect with my Wi-Fi and even when I did manage to fix it, sometimes when it powers on I have to wait a few minutes for it to reconnect before I can get to Netflix. Not a bad price for a player, but if you're looking for a streaming device then I would look elsewhere.

This blu-ray player has everything we needed. We purchased this to replace the blu-Ray purchased when the technology first became readily available. The price was just right. We didn't realize how slow our older player was to start up until we got this new one. Built in wifi and apps makes it well worth it. No longer have a need to use a roku, Apple TV, etc. so there are less cords and visible boxes on the shelf. Great purchase-works well with Samsung TV too with remote that works both items. You won't be disappointed.

I normally love Samsung products but this one leaves much to be desired unfortunately. This device is very slow- even when using functions that do not require Wi-Fi. Such as trying to control the DVD/Blu-ray player. The remote buttons are poorly placed which makes it too easy to accidentally push a button that will completely change what you are doing. For example the volume button is so close to the power button that I have accidentally turned the unit off when in the middle of a show. This is just one example.

This dvd player was easy to setup and I really like the wifi. I purchased two of these and one had not issues setting it up but the other had some issues when I changed inputs on the TV. I disconnected the HDMI cable and reconnected and did some other items and then it appeared onscreen. Once they both were working it was very easy to navigate between the online services - netflix and hulu and going to a blu-ray disc. I like the small overall space of the unit. The front does not have any LCD display but not a big issue. Great units.

Bought this unit to replace my Panasonic, that is getting slow and starting to fail. This unit works fine, Ned has built in apps, that also work as expected. My only disappointment, would be that the cheaper models don't have options for optical audio output. I guess one of my next purchases will have to be a new SSP. Other than that, the set up on this unit was quick & easy. Internet was easy, both for wifi, and hard lined connection. I have loved my Panasonic, but if having to replace, I know that Samsung makes some great product also.

I bought this player for my kids room. Overall is was a great wait for her to be able to watch her movies sometimes without commandeering the living room every time. The WiFi is GREAT for streaming Netflix and other apps as well. The only downside I have with the product is the lack of buttons and indicators. It only has a power and eject button. Also, there is no light indicator or anything that let's you know the system is even on. Overall the product is fantastic for a smart Blu Ray player at such a reasonable price.

This is a wonderful player. It is able to play all Blu-rays at a very high resolution. The additional Wi-Fi capability along with an ethernet port really help to expand everything that it can do. I highly recommend this as a great mid range player. He built in applications really expand and open the user to a world of entertainment. There are constant updates to the applications, along with additional applications that really take it to the next level.

System was easy to set up and updated firmware over wifi. Also was able to pair up my VUDU account. A few days later it says it's not connected to the wifi when I open VUDU or try to set up Netflix. Under settings it says it's connect however. I've run diagnostics and it says I'm connected, I've disconnected from wifi and reconnected, same problem. It did connect long enough to verify I had the most recent firmware though. Taking back to exchange. Hopefully it's just a bum unit and not a design issue.

After purchasing Samsung LED TV and having it installed by the Geek Squad, I realized I needed a new DVD player. After talking to a Best Buy Associate and following his recommendation, I purchased the Samsung - BD-J5700/ZA - Streaming Wi-Fi Built-In Blu-ray Player. It operates better than I had anticipated. Great pictures on my Samsung TV. I would recommend this product to anyone wanting an excellent DVD player.

It works good for the price, good quality also and has no problems connecting to wifi. My first issue was after two weeks of use it got stuck one time, after removing the power from the wall and reconnecting it worked again and it has not happened again. My second issue is that there is no power light, so you don't know if the machine is on or off. It's not a big deal but when the system freezes and your not sure if it's even powering up, thats when the power light makes a difference.

Since so many of the newer DVD releases are Blu-ray, I finally broke down and bought one for our household. I also got tired of having to steal my streaming device back from the teenager's room. Initial setup took less than 10 minutes. It's wireless, so that's a big plus. We can watch DVD's, or stream to our hearts' content. The only "con" is minor: In order to find out how to program the remote to operate the TV, I had to refer to the "web manual."

So far this has been a reliable unit. I purchased this for it's wireless capability and it was a great price during black friday. Overall, it's easy to use and is receiving signal in the basement. I had previously been a fan of sony blu ray players, this may sway me to the samsung brand if it holds up. The curved front deign is the only aspect that may be a negative. It somewhat stands out compared to my straight-edged satellite receiver and I do not have a curved LED.

This player seemed to have decent features & the quality seemed pretty good, but I didn't use this player enough to really get much experience with it. The unit had trouble connecting and staying connected to my (strong) Wi-Fi, and while not a critical issue, the process of entering passwords & other information was somewhat cumbersome. I returned it for a comparable Sony model, which had no problem with my Wi-Fi network and was a breeze to set up & operate.

Won't connect to home wifi network

I bought this unit to replace an older Samsung Blu-Ray. I selected a Samsung because our TV is also made by Samsung. Installation was a snap and the instructions are pretty easy. The weak point is the unit's inability to connect to our wireless network. It detected our wifi just fine and I input the password however the player never connected to the network. The whole reason we bought the unit was on account of the ability to connect wirelessly so it's essentially worthless to us.

The Blu-Ray crapped out on my three year old Samsung home theater system and I didn't want the expense of having it fixed since everything else still worked so I decided to purchase a no frills stand alone via HDMI to my television and just use the surround through a D/O cable. Works perfectly. My only complaint is that nothing illuminates on the player, not even an on/off light. My Samsung TV recognized it immediately and for a wi-fi player you can't beat the price. I'd buy it again.

Originally purchased Samsung without Wi-fi, since I couldn't find my Ethernet cord I returned that model for the Wi-fi capable model. I exchanged within the allowed time and have been using it quite a bit since 2/14/16. At one point the Wi-fi needed to be updated. I unplugged the player, when the screen showed snow, plugged it back in and it updated itself. I've been VERY HAPPY with this Blu-ray player it works GREAT and I'm VERY thankful I got the Wi-fi model so much easier!!!

Quickly and easily connected to my TV and WiFi. It even has a USB port to power my Hdmi To Video Adapter. It only has one HDMI, one Ethernet and one Digital audio out. Its a little slow to load apps or respond to the remote. It only takes a few second. The main(home) menu is basic and easy to use. All in all, a great little player.

Brand new Blu Ray movies will pause and skip a split second. I thought it may have been the disc itself (unlikely because I take VERY good care of media) so I put in a BRAND NEW unopened movie I just purchased (deadpool) and found its the player. Save your money or spend a little more for a Sony or higher-end Samsung. Netflix was my primary reason for this, which works just fine with wireless. Also no lights to indicate if it is on or not...

The access to Hulu and Netflix (streaming services I use all the time) was great. The interface was smooth and was easy to connect to my WiFi at home. Once I moved, it was a different story. It couldn't find my network at my new place, constantly signed me out of my services & slowed down considerably. I thought a restart would fix the issues, but it didn't. I ended up throwing it in the trash. Will not buy a Samsung Blu-ray player again

This may not have a ton of flashing lights and bells and whistles but it is a solid Blu-Ray player with wireless features and smart features built in. It moves quickly and gets movies on screen fast. The design is simple, and my biggest complaint would be no light indicator on whether it is on or off... but if you have it on the right HDMI channel you'll know whether it is working or not by its great picture quality!
