      PerryC,

We appreciate you taking a moment to review the SWA-9200S Rear Speaker Kit.

Occasionally, customers have trouble hiding and running speaker wires from the front of the room (where their soundbar is) to the back of their room (where they have their rear speakers). The Rear Speaker Kit eliminates that hassle. You just have to connect the right speaker to power than run the speaker wire from the right to the left rear speaker and place them in the back of your room. The “wireless” convenience is in connecting your soundbar and any other speakers at the front of the room to the rear speakers eliminating any clutter of long wires running the length of your room.

By design, the surround speakers are supposed to simulate sounds happening behind the viewer. Therefore, most of the time the surround channels are only used for ambient sounds, which are naturally lower in volume.

However, there are a few settings you can change to adjust the surround effect to your preference:

      1) Make sure that the source (e.g. TV output) is sending surround channels to the Soundbar. If the source is not capable of surround, then set the Surround mode to OFF on the Soundbar by pressing the Surround button on the remote.
      2) If the source has surround channels, select the desired Sound Mode from the Soundbar remote.
      3) Turn off Dynamic Range Control. This is done by pressing and holding the Sound Mode button while the Soundbar is in standby mode. Depending on your soundbar model, you may or may not have DRC.
      4) Increase the volume level of the surround speakers using the CH LEVEL button on the Soundbar remote control. Press the button on the soundbar remote, then select REAR LEVEL and use the Up/Down buttons to adjust the volume within a -6 to +6 range.

I hope these tips help to enhance your audio enjoyment. Should you need further assistance with this issue or have any questions, please contact Samsung Customer Support. Just give us a call at 1-800-SAMSUNG (Ask for Soundbars), 8AM - 12AM EST, 7 days a week. Our Live Chat agents are also available by clicking on the ‘Support’ link on our website.

      Hello IanR,

Thank you for purchasing the SWA-9200S Wireless Rear Speaker Kit. I am sorry to see that your experience with the rear speakers has not been ideal.

To adjust the volume of the rear speakers, use your Samsung Soundbar remote and press the CH LEVEL button until you see REAR LEVEL scroll across the LED display. From here you will press the UP/DOWN buttons on the remote to adjust the volume between -6 to +6.

Also, make sure that your TV's Digital Audio Output is set to Bitstream, Auto, or Pass-Through. If it is set to PCM, then the rear speakers will not receive the proper audio as PCM can only be played in a stereo output.

To troubleshoot the audio being out of sync, consider following these steps below.

First try doing a software update on your Soundbar. You can download the firmware directly from Samsung’s website by clicking “Support” in the top right corner. Then go to “Manuals & Software” > “TVs & Home Theater” > “Home Theater” > “Sound Bars”. From there, type in the model of your Soundbar and then click on the drop down menu that shows below the search bar.

Download the update and install it via USB thumb stick to your soundbar. If you need additional help, there are how-to instructions on this page. Please know that Samsung Customer Service is here to assist as well.

Next, try doing a soft reset, unplug the soundbar from the outlet for roughly 30 seconds and then plug it back in.

If this still does not correct your issue, then do a hard reset. With the Soundbar on, press the + & - Volume buttons on the body of the soundbar at the same time for at least 5 seconds. INIT OK” appears on the display and then the Soundbar is reset.

If we can further help with any other issues, please know we are here for you. Just call us at 1-800-SAMSUNG (Ask for Soundbars), 8 AM – 12 AM EST, 7 days a week. Or visit us on the Samsung website and click on the ‘Support’ link for:

I was extremely disappointed that this model only supported wired speakers. Not wired to the sound speaker, but wired to each speaker.. poor sound, no additional benefit that I noticed and I was really betting on it being a great sound experience. I will stick w my surround sound Bose.

      Hello,

Thank you for purchasing the new SWA-9200S Wireless Rear Speaker Kit. We appreciate you sharing your thoughts about the wireless description of the rear speakers.

I am sorry that you've experienced issues when connecting your rears to your soundbar.

Unlike a receiver and stand alone speaker system that requires wires between the receiver and the speakers the SWA-9200S is wireless to the soundbar. We have redesigned our rear speaker kit as to remove the central transmitter and only require one speaker wire between the two speakers.

This eliminates the need to run speaker cable through your walls or hide them from the front of the room to the back of the room.

If we can further help with any other issues, please know we are here for you. Just call us at 1-800-SAMSUNG (Ask for Soundbars), 8 AM – 12 AM EST, 7 days a week. Or visit us on the Samsung website and click on the ‘Support’ link for:

      Hi LuisV,

Thank you for purchasing the Samsung SWA-9200S Wireless Rear Speakers.

Once this kit is connected to a compatible Samsung soundbar, the soundbar remote is then used to control the volume level of the rear kit. Press the Sound Control button on the soundbar remote (looks like a gear), then select REAR LEVEL and use the Up/Down buttons to adjust the volume within a -6 to +6 range.

Also, make sure that the source (e.g. TV output) is sending surround channels to the Soundbar. If the source is not capable of surround, then set the Surround mode to OFF on the Soundbar by pressing the Surround button on the remote. If the source has surround channels, select the desired Sound Mode from the Soundbar remote.

You might want to try turning off Dynamic Range Control. This is done by pressing and holing the Sound Mode button while the Soundbar is in standby mode. Depending on your soundbar model, you may or may not have DRC.
