Posted .Hello KevG213,
By design, the surround speakers are supposed to simulate sounds happening behind the viewer. Therefore, most of the time the surround channels are only used for ambient sounds, which are naturally lower in volume.
However, there are a few settings you can change to adjust the surround effect to your preference:
1) Make sure that the source (e.g. TV output) is sending surround channels to the Soundbar. If the source is not capable of surround, then set the Surround mode to OFF on the Soundbar by pressing the Surround button on the remote.
2) If the source has surround channels, select the desired Sound Mode from the Soundbar remote.
3) Turn off Dynamic Range Control. This is done by pressing and holding the Sound Mode button while the Soundbar is in standby mode. Depending on your soundbar model, you may or may not have DRC.
4) Increase the volume level of the surround speakers using the CH LEVEL button on the Soundbar remote control. Press the button on the soundbar remote, then select REAR LEVEL and use the Up/Down buttons to adjust the volume within a -6 to +6 range.
I hope these tips help to enhance your audio enjoyment. Should you need further assistance with this issue or have any questions, please contact Samsung Customer Support.

Garbage
||Posted . Owned for 6 months when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. This speakers are garbage. They unpair to the soundbar constantly and they will not pair together. You will go through the process multiple times because 1 speaker will pair but the other will not. And you cannot pair just the 1 after. They must be done together. I have been on samsung that was POINTLESS! They did nothing i had to figure out they must be done together everytime. I have another samsung soundbar with 2 rear speakers that have a hub you wire to. Never had an issue with those.

Worst experience ever
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Best Buy solicited me by email to purchase these speakers to go with the Samsung tv, sound bar and subwoofer that I purchased from best buy. I have spent hours upon hours with tech support, Samsung support, online forems and they will not connect with my sound bar. I spoke with Best Buy tech support for over an hour only to be disconnected with no return call back from tech. I just got of phone again with Best Buy now stating it’s out of the return policy and I have to physically go to store and ask manager for an exception. I have no more time or patience to give after spending thousands of dollars on this equipment and hours trying connect these speakers to the sound at. If Best Buy did not email me about these matching speakers I never would have sought them out for my system.

Posted .Hi Disappointed,
Thank you for sharing your thoughts on the Samsung SWA-9500S wireless rear speaker kit. Your experience is very important to us and will be shared with our product team. You may want to try the following troubleshooting steps:
Plug the SWA-9500S power cord into an outlet and into the speakers to turn them on. Turn off your soundbar and press the Up button on the remote for 5 seconds. The ID SET message will appear on the soundbar for a short time and then disappear. After the ID SET process, the soundbar power is automatically turned on. The LINK LED indicator stops blinking and glows a solid blue when a connection is established between the soundbar and the rear speakers.
If the LED light is solid blue, the rear speakers are connected to your soundbar.
If the LED light is blinking blue, the rear speakers are recovering the connection:
• Check if the power cable attached to the main soundbar unit is properly connected or wait about 5 minutes
• Turn off the soundbar by pressing the power button on the main soundbar unit. Configure "ID SET" using the soundbar's remote control, then turn the soundbar back on.
If the LED light is blinking red and blue, there is a malfunction and will require service.

Posted .Hello MichaelM,
I’m sorry to hear that you’re dissatisfied with the volume of your SWA-9500S Rear Speakers.
Please know, there are various settings you can adjust to improve your experience with the rear speakers.
You can adjust the volume of the rear speakers by using the remote included with the connected soundbar. Press the CH LEVEL button on the soundbar remote, then select REAR LEVEL and use the Up/Down buttons to adjust the volume within a -6 to +6 range.
Additionally, make sure that the source (e.g. TV output) is sending surround channels to the Soundbar. If you are using a format such as PCM, you may experience decreased volume to the rear speakers. Select Bitstream, Auto, or Pass-Through as these settings will allow the TV to send the correct channels to the rear speakers.
I hope these tips help to enhance your audio enjoyment. Should you need further assistance with this issue or have any questions, please contact Samsung Customer Support.

Posted .Hello TnTMDB,
Thank you for sharing your experiences with the SWA-9500S Wireless Rear Speakers. I am sorry that your setup has been less than ideal.
If your rear speakers each have a SOLID BLUE LED on the back then you are connected. If you see a blinking BLUE LED then they have not been paired completely. If you see a RED LED then they haven't started the pairing process.
I would do a hard reset on your Soundbar then re-pair your rear speakers. With the Soundbar powered ON, press and hold the - & + (VOLUME UP/DOWN) buttons on the soundbar unit itself. After roughly 5 seconds, you will see "INIT OK" scroll across the LED display.

Posted .Hi KiraG,
We appreciate you taking a moment to leave a review for the SWA-9500S Rear Speakers.
Here are a few tips to adjust the settings for your rear speakers.
In addition to adjusting the settings through the soundbar, you may want to try checking the sound format on your TV to ensure you are getting the best experience for a surround sound setup.
If your Digital Output Audio Format is set to PCM then you will likely notice decreased performance with surround sound audio systems. Dolby options are designed for surround systems (like 3.1.2 or 7.1), whereas PCM provides great sound quality for stereo speakers.
On a Samsung TV this setting can be found at Home > Settings > Sound > Expert Settings. (It can also be found in the Quick Settings.)
Please also be sure you are using an HDMI cable for the connection between the TV and your Samsung Soundbar for the best audio experience and support for a wider range of surround sound formats. Additionally, you may want to update the firmware of the soundbar to the latest version featuring the latest features and improvements. You can update the firmware through the SmartThings app, or by using a USB device.
I hope these tips help improve your experience and enjoyment with your Rear Speaker kit.
