Got this drive to store my evervexpanding iTunes and photo library. After formatting the drive for the MacOS everything worked great. So much faster than my previous hard disk drives. Looking for speed and reliability - so far so good.

I love the size and speed which I rely on when working with large files such as photos and the like. I will buy another but larger Samsung external drive in the near future.

For only $25 more, you can get the T7, which has basically double the speed, but this works just as well. It is easy to use, comes with the two cables you may need and is my daily workhorse.

I have an iMac internal 5400 rpm drive that was too slow to use with the latest versions of Photoshop and Illustrator. Instead of paying for a replacement drive I purchased this to set up as the startup drive and the internal as an extra drive. After reformatting and installing the latest Big Sur OS I installed new copies of Photoshop and Illustrator. WOW! Startup times are at least 10 faster with no lag in running the aforementioned programs. Best purchase I've made! If it were not for Big Sur requiring a check of the internal drive before switching control to the external, startup would be around 10 secs., maybe less.

Must go with the SSD drives over the standard drives and this Samsung works great. Recommend reformatting the drive when opening it to get rid of any software on it for a more reliable drive. Very small and compact to take on the go.

This external drive is perfect for gaming. It is small and portable but has 1TB capacity, so it is great for home use and travel too.

This is a great drive, very similar to its older brother, you won't notice a difference in speeds. The t5 is an extremely capable, compact drive, doesn't get hot either!
