Works exactly as intended for my PS5 console and external SSD drive. I formatted this through the front USB port on my PS5, then I plugged it into my PS4 and began the download process of almost 2 dozen games. The initial transfer took about an hour and a half but after that, WOW! Plugged it into the back USB port on the PS5 and now have the ability to play every single game directly from the External SSD. It is PLENTY fast enough and there is no need to spend the extra $100 on the newer T7 model, none at all. This transfers games back and forth from internal to external with amazing speed and I have never been happier with a product like this before. I've only owned 2 other external drives and this is the 1st SSD EVER! And it will not be the last. I cannot recommend the product enough. If your looking for a fast, relatively cheaper SSD for your PS5 this one works perfectly. Just format it on the PS5 initially and it will work from that point on both systems or just your PS5. Make sure you understand how to unplug it safely. Settings, storage, external storage, Safety remove PS5. PS4 long press PS button and the option pops up. Have fun and enjoy

I have two of these drives and they work perfectly as my backup storage devices. Never had any issues and they are lightning fast, whether they are connected to a laptop, phone or iPad. And boy are they compact, compared to the external hard disks I was using, these take up very little space. Highly recommend.

My daughter needed this for her Apple laptop so she could store some programs, otherwise she didn't have enough room on her laptop. It has worked great. It is small and lightweight. I would recommend a case that they sell to store it or if you are taking it with you with your laptop to protect it. Because it is so small, it is easy for it to get lost.

I bought the 1 terabyte version of this drive. This drive is flat-out tiny - smaller than a credit card. It's pretty zippy, though not nearly as fast as an M2 internal SSD. The case is sturdy enough to use as a portable data storage device, I wouldn't hesitate to carry it in a pocket. But mine just stays put, attached to one Windows computer. If you are detaching the drive, I recommend ejecting it via operating system first, or shutting down the host device, *then* detaching it. You'll be less likely to run into data corruption problems if you're careful about that. Read about the USB connectors on the product. If your computer, camera, etc. has compatible USB ports, this will work. The drive is plug-and-play. I had no trouble with this - I plugged it in, and it mounted immediately. There's no separate power cord. The drive pulls power from the USB connection. I don't think external USB drives could be more convenient than this Samsung drive.

Very portable nice size for 1tb.its kind of pricey but worth it compared to spinning drives. I think it will be very durable and portable. I got one for my Mac and my pc

It was easy to set up; much of it was through the computer as I pugged it in. I use it for photo storage and a little back-up. Had it a month and no problems. It works fast and consistently. A little over priced. I like it's small size on a cluttered desk and its easy to take with if traveling.

My computer crashed, and either needed a new motherboard or a memory extraction. This device had capacity for everything and room to spare. It is compact, light, and I love the sleek design. A little expensive, but Black Friday/Cyber Monday is coming for the rest of you.

Small, fast, and plenty of space. Transferring a large amount of data now only takes a fraction of the time. I was able to hit around 93MB/s when I was backing up a bunch of home movies. My usb 2.0 flash drive only did around 2-8 MB/s. This will truly free up hours of my time. - Computer tech of 26 years.

Small,fast, and portable. I bought this for my PS5. Since I was running out of room quickly. So I moved some of my PS4 games onto it while still getting speed from an SSD. Of course not as fast as the one inside the PS5. This loads my games noticeably faster. With no issues playing the games off the drive.

I use this SSD as an ongoing backup for my laptop, and also to save low priority files that I don't want taking up space on my laptop. It works great, is intuitive and super easy to use. It's lightweight and compact and holds a ton of files. This kind of quality, easy backup has given me peace of mind.

Very small, light weight, and easily portable. I use it as a local backup drive and to shuttle large files between computers. The USB-C interface works wonderfully on my new devices. And the included USB-A to USB-C cable is perfect for older devices that don't support the new standard.

I really love how small and sleek this external drive is. I also love that its type c and works perfectly without an adapter on my MacBook. Its fast and so far has not given me any issues. I would recommend to anyone interested in an external drive thats small, compact, and quick.

The T3 was amazing, I've used mine daily for years. I had high expectations for the T5, and it is essentially an incremental update. If you never had a T3, this drive will knock your socks off, it is hands down the best in its class! But don't buy this as thinking it's going to make a splash performancewise from the T3. In real world usage the T5 writes about 15% faster than its little bro, but the real world difference is nominal - a difference of less than 1 second per GB written. These drives have superior build quality, performance, and endurance to anything else on the market. But unlike the T1 and T3, the T5 doesn't stand out from its competition, and the extra cost harder to justify. If you want the best, this is it, but you'll probably get more bang for your buck going with another brand.

I use this with my MacBook Pro, because my school kept me under a $3k cap for a computer, so I sacrificed a larger hard drive for a better processor. I keep this plugged in and it does a fantastic job. It’s quick, reliable and compact. I think the cord weighs more than the drive. I am very happy with this purchase.

My main objective was to create an external bootable drive for my 2015 iMac, to speed things up. but even though the T5 comes with a cable to adapt the USB 3.1 to USB 3.0, I was hoping to connect to my Thunderbolt 2.0 port for a faster throughput. I purchased the USB-c male to Thunderbolt 2.0 female adapter and a Thunderbolt 2.0 cable thinking this would work since the adapter is bi-directional, but it didn't work because the Thunderbolt 2 port does not supply operating power to the T5. This was a big disappointment, but I decided to keep the drive anyway for backups. I was able to clone my internal HD and make it bootable, but doesn't show up as selectable boot drive in System Preferences. I can boot from it by holding the appropriate keys down at boot time, but it's tedious, and there's no speed advantage with USB 3.0. Also, could not find a way to format to APFS. Would only format to HFS + Hard to believe they can get 1 TB capacity in this small package. It works fine, but slower than I wanted when relegated to USB 3.0 speeds!

Top of the line and very fast. I use these for storing images off of my camera and to edit images in Lightroom. I have used them for years and they have been very reliable. As a professional full-time photographer, I can recommend them highly. Small and compact.

Using with a new Mac Mini (256) to house all my docs, leaving my system to just manage applications. Totally working great and never gets warm. Easy plug-n-play. Super tiny, about the size of a biz card, so ...a great choice. I forget its even there.

An excellent portable SSD. It's very fast and the 1 TB storage is spacious. It also comes with a USB C to C cable and a USB C to A cable for compatibility with older machines without USB C ports.

Very fast. Great for running large Parallels or VMware Virtual machines instead of running off your internal drive. Also good to make cloned drives and run them on other machines. Great product with 2020 iPad Pro also. Very light high quality metal device. Includes two cables. The color blends in nice with the iPad space gray. Be sure to look at the 7T which offers a thumb print encryption model as well as double the read rate for newer computers that have newer USB version. The 5T is great for older computers that top out at 400 to 500/mbs. If you have an older computer, you may want to consider the 7T for future proofing but be aware that the extra 500/mbs (for a total of 1000/mbs) will go to waste until you get a newer computer. The price difference on the 1TB model is not that much more and worth considering.

Samsung 1TB T5 is best solution for lots of fast storage. Excellent overall other reviews. Quality, fast, no moving parts to break like external HD. Much faster than thumb drive. Includes all needed cables. PURCHASED 11/30/18_WORKS SUBERBLY with Galaxy S9, S4 tablet, other Android devices.
