Used as add on to retropie. Kind of touchy surprising! 10-15 min of play and tried to move it, red light flashes or suspends the drive merely by touching the cable. Noticed it gets warm, cable and ssd. Maybe when it heats up it doesnt like the cable moved? When its cool at startup no issues. Try moving your cable after 10-15 of activity and check if red light flashes, i can reproduce this event every time like that. Yes its fast on usb 3.0. Quick on 2.0. Hopefully its just my device, and i cant return it either, past the window for returning it.

As the title of my review summarizes, it is an excellent, small, portable, light, and solid hard drive that you can always carry with you.

So I purchased a 500GB T5 several months ago and liked it so much, plus needing even more storage for new XBOX games coming out, I purchased a 1TB. These SSDs are easy to use and VERY VERY fast for XBOX, PS4, and laptops. Very fast transfer rates when I transferred all the games from the 500GB to the 1TB. With the 500GB practically full it only took about 4 - 5 minutes at the most to transfer that much data. I cant say enough about the Samsung T5s, you just have to try for yourself.

This Samsung SSD is a great storage solution for your computer or game console. I use it for my Xbox Series X console and it’s a life-saver due to Microsoft’s poor decision to the console to only 1 TB of storage for a next-gen console with a list of games that easily reach over 100gb and some over 200gb. This solves that problem by offering quick transfer speeds and saving you from having to micromanage your internal storage.

This thing is really fast, and fits in the palm of your hand. Love that there is no moving parts. Very easy to use and set up.

Very small, light and fast. Look for it on sale or refurbished, a tremendous way to get more storage for your non-upgradable MacBook!

Samsung did a great job with this external Solid State drive. I researched many options before purchasing this one and have no regrets. I think I bought the best available which is important to me for reliability in protecting saved files.

Great drive, very fast, seems to be well built. This is my third T5 drive. I use this on my Blackmagic Design Pocket Cinema Camera 6K, and I am able to shoot BRAW 6K 12:1 with no problem. It even works with 8:1. I can transfer video to my computer from this drive at around 500-600 MB/s sustained. I think this drive is more reliable than the T7 (in my honest opinion). I've had a couple of problems with the T5's successor (the T7).

Bought this almost a year ago and its been offering great performance since I started using it! I use it to store games (Jedi: Fallen Order, Star Wars: Battlefront II, etc.) for my gaming laptop. There hasn't been any change in quality & speed of my games since transferring them to this SSD.

Solid state is the way to go when it comes to extra storage. its fast and so far, no problems.

Samsung’s T3 and T5 SSD drives nail all the check marks that make editing on-the-go a solid possibility. How blisteringly fast is this thing? All my raw 1080p footage can reside in this drive as a unified Final Cut Pro library and I’m able to directly edit from it — real-time scrubbing the timeline and media bin without a hiccup! Gone are the days of having to move the footage into the laptop as an editing prerequisite. The beauty of plugging Samsung’s SSD into another laptop or desktop and just continuing to work from it (no more having to relocate missing or scattered files) cannot be understated. The specs should indicate the T5 has a USB-C port. Two cables are included one for connecting to USB-C and the other to the original USB-A. I’ve been praising this drive while connecting it with only the latter USB-A (3.0 spec)!

Needed some extra portable storage that was easy to store and move. This thing is great and now I am able to store all my photos so I can edit or use them on my desktop or my laptop. There are no moving parts so there is no chance the internal components will get harmed with moderate bouncing around even when files are being read or written. Happy that I was able to find this device and hoping it will hold up to the rigors of my day to day use! So far so good!

So small and portable yet has a ton of storage. I can easily throw this in my pocket and forget its there. Worth the money..
