I've had a few of these drives and for the most part they are great. Small, fast, and easy to carry, etc... But out of all my SSD drives (and there's a small pile at this point) my 3ish year old T5 just died - first ever SSD to die on my too. It had a few issues connecting one day and next day it died... What was frusterating about this, was that I used it to bring a project with me on a trip and I was working from the drive directly - the drive showed no issues, connected just fine and when I was done, I saved the quite. Then, I boot the drive back up about 20 minutes later and get a warning that the drive could be read but not written to and I needed to back it up immediately... OK fine, but then I noticed that the only content available to backup was from an older folder over a week old... In short, from what I understand, the cellular structure of the drive malfunctioned and instantly either lost or hid all recent work that would have been written to it. In the end I lost a night's worth of work, and got a bit of a cold sweat when I realized that my entire setup is built on SSDs for projects and HDDs for backups, so if that's how an SSD dies.... Then I need to be double sure my projects are all backed up properly cause there's no recovery or going back. As a side note, both my original t3 drives are still going strong! I think the whole line is actually pretty great, but be careful with your data.

Picked this lil monster up last night for an event, and loaded it with 500gb of videos. I video mixed with Serato Video DJ PRO for 5hrs straight without any issues! I use a 2017 MacBook Pro. I’ve used lacie and western digital external hds, both have overheated, and seized due to rigorous, nonstop hours of video performances using both thunderbolt and USB-C cables. I highly recommend this unit to all Video DJs 100%

This SSD is really small, so it is perfect for laptops or connecting it to the phone to transfer files and photos. I had games installed on it and they were loading off this SSD, and it never got hot while being used.

I purchased a 256 gigabyte version of this external drive two years ago before a trip to India to backup my digital photo files. It has performed flawlessly. The price of the 1 T drives has come down, and I needed more storage, so I stayed with the Samsung T5. I like the fact that it has both USB C and USB A interface cables. Transfer speeds are excellent, though not NVME fast. The size and ruggedness are both a plus. Very compact and sleek. The included security software is simple and unobtrusive. Excellent product. I wish Samsung did not charge a $20 premium for the red version. It's gorgeous.

Compact, big capacity and lots of different colors to choose from which is great when it comes to items like these because you might them on the go and depending on size is when I’ll determine whether to either leave it at home or not. Works really well!

I love these, easy to use, unlike some other complex for no reason/faulty externals & very reliable. I’ve had 3 of them for different backup purposes for years and all of them are still going strong with no issues.

Small, lightweight, and extremely fast. This is the best external SSD on the market. I edit 4K video on it and there is no lag. I bought the 500GB first but exchanged for the 1TB after I saw the performance. I consistently get 430Mbps read and write. Highly recommend.

Very fast. I’m booting my computer off of this instead of the hdd and it makes a world of difference

I got this for my PS5 to store PS4 games, and it's perfect! It runs fast, obviously not as fast as the internal SSD, but it's still great. The large size lets me finally download my extremely large PS4 games, which take up a total of almost 250gb, and store them here. It's great so I don't have to download them again when their upgrades are released. PS5 games you're not playing at the moment can be stored here, but not played off the drive (at least, not yet). This is a perfect solution while we wait for the SSD expansion bay to be unlocked! One bit of advice - if you're using this on the PS5, make sure to plug it into one of the rear USB slots, as the front one isn't made for external drives.

I was running out of space on the previous 500 gb T5, so I got the 1Tb, it is a very reliable external ssd using it for my music backup and other important doc..very small and light... highly recommended

I had a chance to buy this on sale, I'd been looking an this for awhile and just waited until it went on sale...Glad I did, It's very quick and love the form factor, really small and easy to carry with the other laptop gear...….

Exactly what I need since I do a lot of gaming , now I’m able to easily transfer data from back and forth as I please and have the speed I need.

This storage gives me peace of mind knowing all my photobooks are backed up safely. This is a great size that doesn't take up too much space

This very compact little guy has been awesome. I use it for work and carry my steam library on it and it works amazingly. It is lightning fast and goes great with my laptop. Overall 10/10.

This is a great product for photographers who need to move pictures in the field. This little guy is so small and light that you don’t think twice about having it in your bag. Transfer speeds are also very good.

Love that this is compact and has plenty of speed for my needs. No more worrying about mechanical drives getting damaged while on the go. SSD is definitely the way to go.

I purchased this to back-up my Mac, and it works great. This is my first solid-state back-up drive - much smaller and lighter than I expected. The sales guy at BestBuy was great in guiding me through my selection. He told me that this SSD drive does not really have true USB C output and it limits the speed of data transfer, even though it is a USB C slot. I am using Apple Thunderbolt cables to connect it to my Mac - I think it is blazing fast, way faster than I anticipated. I'm very satisfied with my purchase and would highly recommend this to anyone looking for a rapid and small data storage drive.

Super fast, light and compact. A great replacement for older USB hard drives. Perfect for the MacBook Pro and a direct Thunderbolt connection.

Bought this to use on my MacBook Pro and it works great! It is very fast and the 1TB size huge. I run Windows 10 from it using virtual box. Also run games like Starcraft from it without any lag.
