I have had several external hard drives that have crashed and was skeptical about using a USB. To my surprise it has been super easy and dependable. It is lightweight and I would recommend to anyone needing extra storage

As long as one is not doing serious computing, it works fine for this purpose. The case material and feel of the drive is solid. I would not recommend this drive as a back up drive because when SSD drives fail, it is impossible to retrieve information. I recommend using a hard drive for this purpose.

Just make sure your system is updated to the latest operating system( Monterey) because there is a slight chance the SSD won't connect to the laptop if you don't.
