Best backup drive around

This is a great size for backing up your entire hard drive and then some. Backups are very fast. If you use the encryption do not forget your password. Samsung has software to recover but it's buggy and if there's a firmware update it will not work.

External SSD works well with Linux

It was recognized and worked immediately with my Linux workstation. I had to reformat the drive to a Linux file system, but that was no big deal. Performance is quite fast, and the one terabyte of space is much appreciated. Overall, I rate the drive as a good deal for the money. The red color is a bonus!
