Customers are saying

Customers commend the T7 2TB External USB 3.2 Gen 2 Portable SSD with Hardware Encryption for its excellent performance, convenient portability, and ample storage capacity. Many appreciate its compact size. While some users noted that the drive can get warm during data transfers, and that the price point may be high for some, the positive feedback on performance and storage outweighs these concerns.

**5-Star Review for Samsung T7 1TB External USB 3.2 Gen 2 Portable SSD** I recently purchased the Samsung T7 1TB External USB 3.2 Gen 2 Portable SSD, and I couldn't be more impressed! Here are a few reasons why I’m giving it a five-star rating: 1. **Incredible Speed**: With read speeds of up to 1050 MB/s and write speeds of 1000 MB/s, transferring large files has never been faster. It significantly cuts down the time I used to spend waiting for backups and file transfers. 2. **Compact and Durable Design**: The sleek, lightweight design makes it easy to carry around in my bag. Plus, the aluminum body feels sturdy and is resistant to shocks, which gives me peace of mind when I'm on the go. 3. **User-friendly Setup**: Setting up the T7 was a breeze. It was recognized instantly by both my Windows and Mac systems, and I didn't need to deal with any complicated installations or formatting. 4. **Security Features**: I appreciate the built-in password protection and AES 256-bit encryption. It adds an extra layer of security for my sensitive data, which is essential in today’s digital world. 5. **Versatile Compatibility**: The T7 works seamlessly across various devices, including PCs, Macs, and even gaming consoles. It’s perfect for storing games, media, and important files without worrying about running out of space. Overall, the Samsung T7 1TB External SSD is a fantastic investment for anyone looking for speed, portability, and reliability. Highly recommended!

Exc. portable data solution, but not for everyone

The Samsung T7 is a great portable storage solution that is tiny, super fast, lightweight and most of all secure. But it isn't a drive that everyone can use; you have to have a USB 3.2 version port as well as the corresponding connector to really take advantage of the high speed transfer rates. I am lucky because I recently upgraded my desktop to a new Dell PC (which I bought from BB of course!) that included both 3.2 support and the high speed port connection on the front. You need to check your device(s) to make sure that you can use this, otherwise it would make more sense - both functionally and financially - to buy one of Samsung's previous versions. However, if you have the ports the transfer speeds are incredible. And it's hard to see from product pics just how tiny and compact this drive really is, so I included some pics with everyday common objects to provide a sense of scale. The size and durable case makes this easy to throw in a briefcase, purse or backpack. Or for that matter your pocket! And with the included and easy to use build in encryption, you know that your data is safe; something to consider if you carry sensitive data between locations. It's lighter than most phones and because it is a solid state drive, you don't have to worry about dropping it. Pretty impressive, especially for the price. The only reason I gave it a good rating instead of an excellent one is that if you don't have 3.2 ports, you'll be paying more for a drive that will only provide average performance speeds.

This is my 3rd T7 and I love them. They're super quick and convenient. No glitches, no issues, gets the job done every time and has plenty of storage. Like I said I have 3 for 3 different purposes and I still haven't used up all the storage.

I recently bought this drive, and it has been a huge help for my work. It’s incredibly fast, lightweight, and easy to use. I mainly use it to save all my files and projects, and it has really helped me offload a lot of storage from my laptop. Now my laptop runs smoother, and I have peace of mind knowing my important work is safely backed up. I highly recommend it to anyone looking for reliable, portable storage.

So small it gets lost on the desk. Gets hot sometimes. Super fast file transfers with MacMini M4. Could just plug into the back of the Mini with the right adapter, and hang there.

This amazing unit, easily took all 2 TB of videos we put on it, and then proceeded to accidentally get placed in the washer with a whole load!!! EEK! After the wash cycle was completed it made its way in the dryer for a full cycle…. Once the hard drive was nice and clean we plugged it in to hopefully view our current uploads. She fited right up and works perfectly. :). I dont care what you say about Samsung, THIS BABY Is a work of art.

Great little back up SSD, very fast, very small and very easy to use. You really cannot beat the price and for Samsung quality it is a great deal. I connected the drive to my Macintosh lap top computer, configured it for a Mac and did my first back up in under ten minutes. BTW I did not expect it but a cable was included (really two cables a USB A to C and a USB C to USB c which is the one I used.

Works great on 2020 iMac. I use it to run Windows 10 (via Bootcamp) and it runs quickly. There are online videos on how to install Windows on an external drive. It does get a bit warm so I keep the drive placed flat on the desk to help transfer the heat. Size is compact and feels like a solid product.

Fast, small and easy to use. My main reason for buying this SAMSUNG SSD was the hardware encryption. In other brands that I bought before, I have hard time making the encryption to work smoothly. This SSD has a software easy to use and it works just great. Fast reading speeds, and small in size, very portable.

Transferring from a MacBook to Windows laptop and wanted to move from a ~10 year old HDD external to SSD for faster read/write speeds, better durability, smaller form factor, etc. Have just over 500 GB of media dating back many years and wanting to keep it all safe for years to come. Was having the *worst* time with the HDD formatted in Mac OS extended. Luckily the Samsung T7 came formatted in exFAT already and was able to communicate with both my MacBook and my new Windows laptop. Didn't sit and measure write speeds (as was transferring from the old external HDD to the new T7) but was impressed when accessing the media later on how quickly everything loaded. The form is amazing - smaller than a deck of cards and much thinner too. No troubles with heat or either the USB type C or USB type A connections. (And pleasantly surprised that they included both in the box). Super happy overall and tons of room to grow into it now.

This is a great unit. It's fast and 4GB is really lots of storage. My USB drive backups are done in much less than half the time compared to my WD Easystore drives, and it's portable as can be. I'll get another one when it's on sale again.
