A USB thumb drive would work too but its flash memory is usually slower than this external SSD drive. Still the read and write speeds of this drive will vary depending on the file sizes and the PC hardware. The biggest downside are the included short cables - they are not flexible enough which can leave this light weight drive hanging on one end.

I've been using them for a couple of years now and only have great things to say about them. I use them for video editing when I'm traveling and they work great. The read and write speeds allow 4k footage to be edited pretty easily. They're also lightweight and don't take up a lot of space.
