IF you have a MacBook or a Windows laptop in the past 2-3 years this will be lightning fast! I owned the T5 before this and there is a noticeable difference. The T7 is smaller, more dense (a good thing) than the T5. You can use this as a scratch disk, edit video/photos right off the drive, TimeMachine (wicked fast backups), and for anything else! Many files versus one large file will show a difference is speed, but so does any other drive.

Its so small and compact, I can keep it in my bag and then pull it out for use with iMovie or other projects while on the Go and have great data speeds with minimal slow down. I can't recommend these T7 drives more than what I have. They are awesome and have super speeds with the USBC/Thunderbolt ports on the Mac Devices

Both units are great in multiple environments. My units rotate use in a Tesla Model 3 storing video from the cameras 24/7. I do not use the encryption feature but have tried it via the included software on the T5 and via Hardware on the T7. I don’t notice any difference in speed with encryption enabled on either drive, maybe a little slower on the T5. If you need a really small and well built portable drive this should be the one you get.

I use this with my Apple products (iMac, MacBook, etc.). I was hesitant when I saw the size, I didn't think it would hold as much as it does or move as fast as it does. This can be used for holding thousands of documents, music, pictures, etc. Its amazing how this little drive can hold so much and prove that size DOES NOT MATTER!

Moving ALL of that stuff over was fast. I was very surprised at how fast because having to download security patches and do all the file updates on my new laptop took longer than me transferring everything over. It's also smaller and lighter than I expected.

These drives are a dream! Fast, Light, and I don't need to worry if they fall too much, as there are no moving parts. I started with one and found myself obtaining at least 3 different ones to store different files and movies -- a relatively instant task for all of them.

I am able to transfer all my PS4 games to it, in order to save room on the PS5. With this USB 3.2 we are able to play games off of the external HD as the speeds are sufficient. And no noticeable slow down or lag in play. Definitely a SSD to buy along side your new system. Another great thing is the size of the actual SSD. Really small and you barely notice it sitting on the table. A must Buy.

Connects to both my MacBook and IPad Pro 11 via USB-C with no issue and encrypted. I wish it would have came with a little carrying case but overall I am very please with the performance of this device. Fits perfectly in my Incase bag along with my other accessories. I highly recommend this device if you are in the Apple Ecosystem.
