I’ve been using the standard version of these drives for quite a while. Having the ruggedized version is probably a better plan based on my cuteness.

I use this device for carrying my music when i dj at gigs and it has not failed. The only recommendation i have is still make sure you have a back up!!

I have been using Samsung External SSD's for several years now. I run VM's off them as well as business data. Have not had an issue with any of those drives!

Great buy if found on sale or price matched. Pairs nicely with my ps5 and havent had any problems and ive had it for months.

I purchased this drive from BestBuy in May of 2023. I've now had the drive for a year and four months. Yesterday, it began to fail. So to start off, the read/write on this drive is advertised as 1GB (1000 MB) and most I would get from BlackMagic's Disk Speed Test was around 500MB, which was unfortunate, but I had the drive and used it. I plugged it in yesterday, and it wouldn't mount. I couldn't repair it on my MacBook. Thankfully, a friend suggested connecting it to another Mac, which I was able to do, and the drive mounted. I was able to transfer files off, but it could not be repaired. It's no longer writable. I hope all my files are fine, but I won't know till I try to use them. This was very disappointing. I'm currently using the Samsung T7 Black 2TB drive from a client as my working drive now. I have two other Samsung drives. This one giving out makes me concerned about purchasing any more Samsung T7's which is TERRIBLE because they were a great option for my camera storage. Just to give all buyers a heads-up, this drive was regularly $349.99 at the time I purchased it. It was on sale for $219.99. And it is now currently $319.99 (was $499.99), which is a big jump. Not sure if lower price means "bad batch," but that was the case with the SanDisk Extreme Portable 4TB SSDs a year or so back. Even if it's not, this price jump on the Samsung T& Shield 4TB is really predatory for Samsung.

It feels super secure and fast. I have had no issues with it thus far.

I bought this for my teen son for occasional real backups so he don’t rely exclusively on cloud storage or “synchronization” storage. Fast and rugged.

Easy to use and setup. Even after having a full library of games on it it still reads and performs fantastically

The T7 has a excellent speed for Performance and Reading/write files for programs/apps that use high Gigs.

Hooked it up with my 2017 imac and backed up my photo library. Then connected it to my my Hp to back up some large data sets. No issues,

Has performed as expected. Samsung SSDs have been top tier for a long time for reason. Would 1000% recommend this to family or friends.

Perfect, no issues, it works well as an external SSD to use with the iPhone 15 Pro for shooting ProRes

I am pleased that these devices are available at affordable prices. Vast improvement over the non-ssd's.

Easy to install, size is excellent, took forever to move my pictures over to it, ( TBH, I had a lot of pictures), but now I know that they are backed up!

Does the job, great price and have always loved Samsung SSD’s - would definitely buy again. Used as an editing drive on a MacBook Pro using FCPX.

I’ve been using this to store all my games and it’s been working pretty well and it’s way faster than my old hdd too so nothing to complain about
