I had higher expectations for this SSD, given Samsung's typical high quality reputation in this field. It keeps idling or disconnecting from my Surface Pro 7 and desktop during transfers. Additionally, the software is very slow to launch and the SSC needs reconnected to unlock it if you do not have the software ready first. I qas under the impression that I would be able to setup the SSD using the software once, then not need it each time, but this does not seem to be the case. I plan on returning this device.

I was impressed by the size and capability of the SSD. It was pretty small in size with capabilities of fast transfer and very secure (with fingerprinting). I have always been a fan of Samsung products and using this particular product has cemented my belief further. I would recommend this product to anyone who is looking to buy an SSD for secured storage with fast connectivity speeds. I was able to set it relatively easily with the steps involved pretty self-explanatory. The Samsung Magician software helped me understand the performance of the SSD and also gave me ideas on how to optimize it. The packing of the SSD was frustration-free and its small size is very convenient to carry and protect. The security features of this SSD are so far above than any other products in the market.

Ultra Light weight and must have extra storage disk

I use it for my Ps5 external hard drive. Plays well with all the ps4 games.

Good product and good color but itis too hard and need

Despite the drive’s sleek design and excellent security features, I could never get the drive to work on my computer. What use is a fingerprint reader if the device’s inherent functions I.e. storage doesn’t work adequately? My problems were as follows: This model had a hard time transferring large files (north of 10 gigs). Speeds would be subject to heavy fluctuation — as low as a couple hundred kb/s to 500 mb/s. I could not get video games to run for more than five minutes. Upon launching the game, and after about five minutes or so, the device would self-disconnect, prompting the program to crash. I tried extensive troubleshooting measures (using my own, personal usb-c cables, other ports, operating systems, etc) to no avail. A side note: no consumer should ever have to go through extensive troubleshooting on their own. I encountered both issues on two separate batches and was only able to resolve my issue by purchasing a competitor’s offering. I cannot in good conscience recommend you buy this product. Can’t be sure but it looks like the Samsung folks forgot to troubleshoot before launching it for release.
