Works as intended. I like the fingerprint and encryption features. And getting so much SSD space for the price is pretty nifty and makes me happy. I would purchase this product again, although if a different brand was cheaper I would get that because this one doesn’t have a unique feature that would make me purchase it over any other model or brand no matter what.

Able to sustain over 380MB/Sec both Read and Write. The limitation is my SATA Buss and SSD "Root Disk" that is either sending the data or receiving the data. I bought this to perform quick short term backups of my home system prior to performing potentially dangerous computer maintenance. I have a 12 TB "Spinning Disk" for daily backups, for emergencies and "Oops" events, but having Fresh Full just before a new BIOS or Firmware update or new "Root Drive" swap-out gives me an added level of security and a speedy restore if it comes to that. I have chosen not to engage the Encryption nor the finger print reader. My fingers have been scratched and marred over the years and I generally don't have consistent luck with any finger print reader. If security is enabled, the Samsung software can allow for one to open the drive with either a password or the fingerprint mechanism.

Great product. I've had this SSD for almost a month now, and it has worked great so far. I have been using this portable drive to simply transfer videos until I can move them to my larger drive at home. It's quick and simple to set up. You can set up the drive to not require the touch option, if that's something you don't want to do, but it is a nice feature.

A very fast external ssd. I trust Samsung the most for ssds. It does actually seem like it is slower to start up than even hdds, oddly, though. So I am not sure what is going on there, but it's a lot of space and fast transfers, of course. You would have to spend a ton to get "much" faster than these.

Blazing fast addition to my ps5. I used this to download and run all of my PS4 games from and it runs them fast. I didn’t need the touch feature, but you never know.

This product for is super secure, you can log in only with your finger . No matter if product get lost or stolen, no one will have access without your finger print

I have hours and hours of old VHS tapes I had digitized a few years ago that I’m finally sorting through and making short and manageable mp4 videos that I can date and organize for my kids and grandkids. I have no where near enough hard drive on my computer, and it’s a slow mechanical disk drive anyway. The old digitized tapes are on fifty nine DVD’s where, once I transfer then onto my new SSD, these files are easily manipulated by my video editing software. I actually have two of these drives now with one being a backup, and the other I’ll use for distributing the files to family. Too much video to send over with email!

works good but not sure if I like the fingerprint reader light stays on all the time it is in use and lights up the whole room would like someway to dim it

After adding this hard drive, my database operations are 10x quicker than before. A must have for those who access / download / upload high amounts of data.

The design is very nice, light and stylish. however I’m not sure if the price was worth it. I was expecting better speed results; however, it was like regular type of hdd… yet, it is not that bad to return this item.

Very small but has solid build quality. Like the Touch ID feature though haven’t setup with new laptop yet as waiting for new MacBook.
