This is a GREAT external drive, and fast if you connect it to a Windows PC, just note as I also connected it to a Mac and does not support the USB standard the T9 uses to double the speed of data transfer, so if you are going to use it with a Mac you could use a T7 which is slightly cheaper.

This is my first SSD and I can already see the benefits. Its much more efficient copying files over from my desktop. This hard drive is nice and small, soft on the outside, and perfect. Samsung was also offering a great deal at the time and Capital One Shopping was offering a great reward. I've purchased samsung harddrives in the past and never had a problem with them over many years.

This little drive is a marvel. It's really fast when reading/writing large files. Remember that copying many small files is never as fast. It's totally silent but does have a blue "access" light to let you know when activity is taking place. Gets a little warm but not bad. Very lightweight and portable. Great for "offsite" backup storage of important data.

The Samsung T9 is fast, reliable, and well-built. Speeds are excellent if your device supports USB 3.2 Gen 2x2, and the rugged design feels solid. It’s a bit pricier and larger than some alternatives, and the rubber finish collects dust, but overall it’s a great portable SSD for big file transfers and creative work.

I love the T9. It is durable, dependable and extremely handy for transferring date in the field or at home. Excellent tranfer speed. I will definitely purchase another.

Great portable drive for a great price. Measuring sequential read speeds of 1,101 MB/s and sequential write speeds of 1,066 MB/s through front panel USB 3.1. In addition, it has a surprisingly small form factor for the amount of storage, and is much more convenient to take on the go than an external HDD. I am very satisfied with the price point and performance of this product. In addition, the rubberized case makes it feel rugged and secure were you to happen to drop it. Product includes the drive, one USB C to C cable, and one USB A to C cable.

I needed an external drive for my iPhone 15 Pro max to record ProRes 4K60. All other modes of video on the iPhone record internally. I had a Samsung T7 2tb ssd drive and tried it first. It worked perfectly with no lag in the video. I tried a 6m (almost 10ft!) thunderbolt 4 cable and it still worked well with no problems. I found this 4tb ssd drive and bought it. Just plugged it in and again it perfectly worked even with a 6m thunderbolt 4 cable. This means I can keep the drive in my coat pocket or a backpack while plugged into the iPhone. The iPhone sees the drives so there is nothing to do to use it. You can view the drive in the files app on the phone. I tried copy/paste from the Photos app to move a few videos to the drive. It was quick. Useful for moving large files to your computer. You can also move files from your computer to your iPhone. With the empty 4tb drive the iPhone says it can record 289 minutes of ProRes 4k60 video. Plenty of room. There was no noticeable battery drain on the iPhone either. I did test the cable it came with versus the thunderbolt 4 cable. There was only a slight difference in speed, not enough to require the thunderbolt 4 cable. A one minute video comes out to 13gb which is why an external drive is necessary to record 4k60 ProRes. Overall, I’m happy with the performance and ease of use.

This Solid-State Drive (SSD) is the best backup storage I have ever owned. I've had many backup units before. All were based on hard disk drive (HDD) technology and all eventually crashed. Fortunately, with multiple backups, I lost none of my data, but then I always needed to replace the crashed drive with another. SSD costs are now affordable and much more reliable that HDD technology. Plus, the size of the unit is much more convenient than a HDD box.

You got what you pay for, and this drive is highly reviewed for a reason. I use it for a portable music production drive. It's been over a year. No issues.

Love it! Bought one a week before and fell in love and had to have a second. I am impressed . It runs cool. Way fast ter thsn sny of my thumb drives. Price was good and it was in stock. As always Best Buy had an excellent staff. Next month i plan to buy another. I have a san disk 4tb and this ine well exceeds it and the sandisk runs hot.

I love everything about this portable solid state drive: The storage capacity is humongous, the transfer rate is super fast, and the size and light weight of it is perfect for slipping inside even a shirt pocket. It has a textured finish that is reassuringly "grippy, so you the danger of it slipping out of your grasp is minimized greatly.

Works fast and a compact piece of equipment a must have for people who use a lot of memory. The small form factor makes it even pocket size.

I love rugged it feel for such a small device. I dont have to feel cautious at like would when handling portable HDD external drives. It is very small but has a hefty weight, and durable rubber finish to absorb any shock if handling it roughly. Speed is great as well.

With working with a lot of files, this drive allows me to transfer and work at high speeds. All while being a reliable drive. I’ve been using Samsung SSD’s for a long a time and I plan to keep buying them. They’ve been proven to be reliable and very portable with durability. This is my go-to drive.

Exactly what you want from a drive like this. Rugged, fast, HUGE. I've had San Disks fail me, but not never Samsung. Tech is tech and all are liable but great track record here.

This little beast is as good as it gets. Easy to carry around with lots of capacity and quick upload/download.
