In terms of size and weight, the Samsung Freestyle is a superb compact portable LED Full HD projector that is both light and robust, enabling it to be taken about with ease while maintaining its excellent performance. Despite the fact that its maximum brightness is limited, it has a beautiful look, a robust connection, and critical functionality such as automatic focus, leveling, and keystoning, as well as a built-in smart platform and compatibility with high dynamic range. Whenever a picture is projected into a wall, the projector can produce huge images, and the Smart Calibration feature ensures that the colors seem genuine even when projected into off-white surfaces - but not into extremely highly colored ones. Alternatively, the resultant pictures are bright and vivid, with no discernible artifacts, and the motion handling is exceptional. Because the smart platform has been properly designed and is straightforward to use, it offers a wide range of control options through the remote, the SmartThings app, and voice-activated assistants. In spite of the fact that input latency is significant for skilled gamers (even in Game Mode), it will be acceptable for the vast majority of users, and the sound quality is amazing considering the projector's diminutive dimensions. Overall, Samsung's The Freestyle provides big-picture entertainment everywhere you go and whenever you want it to be available to you.

Wasn't user friendly for an old Gen.Xer like me. Youngins like millennials or there other kids who follow them would likely have an easier time. Once I did get it set up / connected to Internet, it didn't take too long to figure out how to navigate its menu. Very cool that it's "smart." You can watch Netflix, Prime videos. And it comes pre-programmed with a ton of watchable free options. I recommend pairing it with an alternative speaker. The sound is just "ok" and certainly not suitable for a movie theater / large crowd experience. I paired mine with a JBL Xtreme 3- bluetooth and reasonably priced with BIG sound. I'm enjoying it and do suggest buying it.

Are you interested? Well you should be and here’s why…This projector is an all around easy to use projector that can be experienced using your phone or other devices for portable usage. Want to host a movie in your backyard or turn your family room into a full theater experience -- this is your projector. Just set and play directly on your wall. The projector has Smart TV capabilities, you can check your social feed, play games with friends and do it all with high quality 360 degree sound. Performance/Quality Samsung made a super smart, super small projector that can do everything the larger projectors can do without skimping on features. And there’s no need to adjust the focus or leveling on the projector because the device does it automatically -- no buttons to press or toggle. The picture quality is bright and the amount of features is incredible. Having Samsung Smart TV and all the apps onboard including Netflix, Disney Plus and Prime Video at my fingertips making the projector a major step better than the others. The picture quality is even sharper than other portable projectors and it also doubles as a speaker, a light or a star show projector. This projector is a full 1080p HDR-capable on a screen display up to 100 inches! The speakers have great sound and you can even connect bluetooth. Now can your TV do all of that? Nope! So if you’re like my family -- this one is a keeper! Design It’s super lightweight, under 2 pounds but sturdy and takes up very little space. The projector comes in white with an aluminum/metal frame that sits in a cradle. The frame can swivel up to 180 degrees to allow for a viewing experience directly on the wall or even on the ceiling if you want to watch while laying down. We can’t wait to travel with it --drop it in the suitcase and go! Pros -- sound right from your projector -- portable and lightweight -- easy to use and set up -- Google assistant and Alexa built-in -- has Auto Leveling, Auto Focus and Auto Keystone included -- can connect gaming devices Cons -- No 3.5mm audio input -- Doesn’t allow a 4k signal -- Battery life is a bit short overall -- Took several tries to get the device set up on SmartThings

This projector is much smaller than I expected. I am used to heavy, clunky and large projectors, and expected this to be about the size of a Hydroflask, but was surprised to find it a whole lot more compact! One of the downsides of a projector is the noise the fans make when it is up and running. The Samsung Freestyle Projector is whisper quiet!! You can barely even notice there is a fan in the device. The speakers are ridiculously impressive for the size and completely fill a room enough for a quality movie night. The 65w max power draw is really nice - it means that I can have a great projector on-the-go and use it with my portable battery packs for movie nights while camping! I love that I can use my iPhone with this to Airplay my apps directly to the projector - this is a feature I dont think many other projectors have, and is a huge plus for me. The remote that comes with the Freestyle projector is slick and intuitive! My favorite part of the projector is how simple it is to setup, use, and adjust on the fly. All the built in sensors do a great job of readjusting the image if there is a change in projection angle and is a whole lot easier than doing it myself! I took it to Vegas this past weekend and it was such a great addition to the party!

Compact Samsung freestyle… After opening the package of the Samsung Freestyle, the first thing that caught my eye was how compact the unit was. I was impressed. I was skeptical that this new form of projector would be able to deliver on its promises, but I was completely wrong. I was blown away. The Smart Things app made it simple to get started, and the system was up and operating in less than three minutes. Given that I already own a Samsung TV, the Smart Tizen interface was immediately familiar to me. However, the interface is so user-friendly that no tutorials will be required. All of your favorite viewing apps, such as Amazon Prime and Netflix, are available on this platform. Simply choose a viewing surface and point The Freestyle at it, and the unit will calculate and display angles. This device's automatic keystone will produce a perfectly rectangular image and will focus the High Definition image. There is nothing else that can be done. You're now watching your content, which could be a video or one of the ambient visual scenes displayed on the screen. The built-in speaker emits sound at a 360-degree angle that is crystal clear and significantly louder than imagined. With the addition of the Freestyle Carry Case, the projector can be simply packed when traveling. It is powered by a small and convenient USB C connector and cable, and it can be readily transported. After trying every aspect of The Freestyle over the course of the previous week, it has been clear to me that it can be used in a variety of circumstances for amusement as well as for work or as a decorative item. I absolutely adore The Freestyle, and everyone who has seen it has expressed an interest in purchasing one for themselves. I hope that the Freestyle's compact size, versatility, and ease of use will encourage more people to consider home projection, who previously believed it would be untidy and expensive.

My impression of the Samsung freestyle projector is that it's one fantastic portable entertainment and the size of a large can. Out of the box, the device is sleek and impressive with all it offers. It's a simplistic piece of technology functional entertainment. Set up is simple, especially if you already have Samsung devices within your home. The projector offers a dashboard display very similar to Samsung's TVs dashboard. The projector emits good sound quality and is best inside a room vs. outside if you plan to use it to host an outdoor movie. One of my favorite features was the auto-adjusting and auto-focus. These made the experience more enjoyable, especially when someone that isn't so tech-savvy. It's pretty much a plug-and-play experience. Though I have enjoyed using this projector, there are a few things I wish it had. One is complete portability since there is no battery with the projector. A battery addon is supposedly in the works, which would be a nice touch. Another is having a storage input to play directly off a storage device instead of an internet source or a mobile device. Overall, I'm happy with this projector because of its design and features. I'm looking forward to having many entertainment hours with it. The Freestyle is more a lifestyle device. It gives you access to our connected world in a way no other device has. It's an entertainment device that can be an extension to other mobile devices but can easily stand alone. For the minimalists, a phone and The Freestyle could be all they need for a simple clean space. The professional could host a presentation in the airport, restaurant or just about anywhere. An entertainer, can play music videos or put-up digital art to fit the mood. Possibilities are literally endless with the Freestyle! The image is bright, crisp and vibrant. You'll forget you're not watching a regular TV aside from the available size. In the dark it's surprisingly bright but not washed out. With the shades open in the middle of the day images are still bright enough to enjoy it just lacks some contrast. The autofocus and image adjusts in less than 2 seconds on nearly any flat surface and at the most awkward of angles. It even works on semi-flat surfaces with different textures and colors. My girls absolutely love it, they can put images on the wall in their rooms or play area. If you want to trace an image onto the wall what better way to do it and at the size you want. My wife set it up for my daughter’s sleepover/birthday party, everyone loved using it. Especially at night watching movies on the ceiling in the hotel. A few parents already asked about it. To sum it up, The Freestyle has a bright and vibrant picture with one of the best auto focus and image adjusting sensors I've experienced. It can be used in nearly any room which is especially good on the go! Samsung’s interface is intuitive and easy to navigate with the rechargeable remote. This isn’t a gadget you’ll purchase and put to the side after a few months. I look forward to the battery, other accessories and future iterations of The Freestyle. Samsung has the opportunity to add additional colors like matte black, blue, silver yellow. Offering a form fitting hard case for travel would bump up the value out of the box. Maybe a software update to allow focus lock. There were a few occasions where dramatic changes in the color of a show would cause the unit to try an autofocus. This only happened on surfaces that weren't as reflective.

I appreciate the unique design choices of this device. The projector has decent quality. Are there other portable projectors that are more affordable or brighter? Absolutely, but their shape doesn't lend them to types of uses this projector will be able to accomplish. The built-in speaker is even pretty decent given it's small size. The fact that it has EARC over HDMI just gives you more potential for audio options on the go. All that being said, there are some areas for improvement: Needs at least one more HDMI port and one more USB-C port. Added HDMI for attaching an external device while still being able to use EARC on the other HDMI. Added USB-C port so you can power it while attaching external media to play off of an external storage device without a complicated mess of adapters/dongles. Would ideally be a laser projector so it wouldn't have the rainbow effect that LCD projectors sometimes have. I appreciate the software keystoning, but some sort of hardware keystoning would be impressive (as the software one comes at the expense of wasting resolution). Speaking of resolution, I know a 4K projector might be a tall ask, but QHD would have been a nice middle ground to help the software keystoning not be so negative. I love that it has basically the entire Samsung TV experience in a little package (including popular apps like Disney+, Netflix, Apple TV, etc) and supports various wireless streaming formats such as Apple's AirPlay. The biggest miss for me though is the first party accessories, especially the carrying case which only holds the projector and has no space for the remote, the official battery stand, or the USB-C power cable + AC adapter + cord clip. It also seems strange that the included remote doesn't support solar charging like most of the other Samsung TV remotes of late (especially given the stated use as an outdoor/event projector). I do hope Samsung continues the Freestyle lineup and makes additional accessories for this projector. At the very least I hope they release specifications for the contacts and exact engineering dimensions so interested 3rd parties can produce accessories that will seamlessly work with it.
