Great player, was a very easy set up. 4K Movies look spectacular on my Samsung curved tv. Very happy with the purchase although it was pricey and my regular Blu-Ray movies and Standard dvds look even better.

There's not a lot of 4K Blu-ray players on the market, but this one is definitely a winner. The picture on the 4K content is gorgeous and practically flawless. Moving within 3 or 4 feet of the my 4K TV with 4K content is crystal clear. Setup is a bit challenging trying to determine what settings work best with your TV and sound system, but once you dial them in the picture and sound are superb! The best thing is this player is Region free (or region 0...not sure), but some international Blu-ray content that did not play on my PS3 plays on this player. Love this player and look forward to the next generation Samsung comes out with.

I have enjoyed very sharp picture and sound. Does a good job upgrading blue rays to near 4K. Not overjoyed that price went down drastically almost immediately after I purchased.

This is a must have with the 4K TV. I was skeptical at first due to price and was not sure it would be a marked improvement over standard Blu-ray, but it is and well worth the money.

I spent quite a long time deciding which 4k player to go with, I've herd Panasonic makes the best one but they want upwards of 500 bucks for them... The new Xbox isn't an actual 4k player, it just upscales... so I gave this one a shot. Let me tell you, it's AMAZING the difference! I don't even have a 4k TV yet! I hooked this up to my 2007 LG 50" 1080p Plasma screen and the difference is just astounding compaired to regular blueray! If your on the edge about buying a 4k player just DO IT! You'll never be able to watch standard DVD's again! Would have given 5 stars if the remote was backlit. That's my only complaint.

Samsung came with world's first for blu-ray player about 10 years ago. Now, again Samsung is the first to come up with 4k blu-ray player. While I haven't played any 4k movies as yet on the player, it appears to load regular 4k movies quicker. The interface can be better. The remote is too small. I sometimes accidentally press ok button instead of navigational keys.

Connected this to my 65" OLED LG and wow. Even old blu-Ray movies looked amazing. 4K HDR movies are really everything I expected too - magical! Power up and play speeds are great. 4K movies starting up much faster than old blu-Ray ones. Not sure if I am imagining things but there seems to be some motion blur side effects when I set the output to 4K as opposed to auto. Seemed more apparent in James Bond type movies. Btw the perennial favorite Avatar movie they use for demos at the Sunnyvale,CA store looks so much more insanely better with this player than with whatever signal they use at the store - it really does the TV a great disservice to demo it that way (hope someone from bestbuy reads this)

The quality, craftsmanship, and design of this Blu-ray Player is beyond compare, I absolutely love it! Happy I made this purchase and waited for the UHD version before buying a Blu-ray player, was worth every penny!! The only complaint I have is minor... the Fast Forward & Reverse are clunky and annoying. If you just hit fast forward or reverse, it skips forward a track. You have to actually hold the fast forward or reverse button until it starts doing 2x, 3x, 4x, etc... there is no precision with this option. You either go to fast and pass what you want or skip to the next track and have to back up and start over. Very annoying they couldn't get such a simple feature to work. My old VCR had better fast forward and reverse than this... but other than this, amazing product!!

The player produces a great picture and sound on both 4K HDR and Blu-Ray movie Discs. Easy set-up with many popular apps installed. Very light weight with a curve design. The remote is very small; and for me cumbersome to use.

I purchased this new item because I wanted to see 4K movies on my TV it has not disappointed me at all. It is far superior to the DVD player I had before and I like having a Blu-ray player 3-D player and 4K player all wrapped into one. I hope to have many years of enjoyment with this product

Setup was very quick and easy. It is capable of any sound version you can throw at it. The remote is small but not a deal breaker at all. I know it is early but I have no regrets on my purchase. Has all the Apps you could want.

The technology has finally come so I can watch 4k movies on my 4k tv. Very easy to use and love the up scaling for my blu rays and dvds. Couldn't be happier with this product.

I have owned many bluray players but this one is the absolute best so far. I was not a believer on the 4K topic. I purchased a Samsung 8 series with quantum dot with this bluray player with a monster cable hdmi cable. It is the best picture I've ever seen. The player is very fast with a hard line to the Internet. Apps are very easy to navigate. I love the touch controls. It's almost silent when running. The upscale is pretty good but I think my tv has a lot to do with it being so good. My only dislike is the remote. I don't use it anyway. I love the hdmi for sound only. Big difference from my fiber optic cable.

hdr upgrade for Blu-ray little pricey but only one ouy there

This 4k player brought the best out of my 4k tv. Once you see the 4k movies you will never go back. Easy to use and install.

Price tag, HIGH. But you already know that since you've purchased a 4K TV. I myself have an LG OLED display that I paid way too much for and my wife was VERY NOT HAPPY at me for about a month (3 months). Now that she has noticed the difference between the 4k and the 1080p displays we have, she has softened her stance on ending my life. Get this player to unlock your 4K TV's potential.The picture is stunning! Take advantage of Netflix/Amazon/Vudu/Hulu/ Yahoo content. The adjective that comes to mind is CRISP. If you have a 3D 4K display, this player makes 3D look INCREDIBLE. That's enough for my kids to be entertained for at least 90 minutes of peace and quiet OR 90 minutes of getting stuff done around the house. I try to split it up 50/50... Usually ends up as 70 minutes of peace and quiet and 20 minutes of folding laundry, vacuuming the living room and power washing some dishes. Regardless, if you're a tech person like myself and you have the hardware already in place, get the Samsung. Out of the 15 4K titles that I have bought, The Revenant and Life of Pi have been the best looking films I've ever seen outside of an IMAX screen at the local cinema . We won't see anything better until after the new year. BUT! The price has been going down since I bought it back in July. Thanks for reading my personal anecdotes on this subject! Although I'm not an expert, I have an extensive blu ray collection (I like the physical case, not the b.s. digital trend) and all blu rays will be up converted to look amazing.

This player is a bit pricey but the picture is unbelievable! It has plenty of apps preinstalled for different viewing options (YouTube, Netflicks,etc) but setup takes a minute. There seems to be a compatibility issue with my VIZIO Chromecast tv and soundbar that occurs when I have watched a dvd and turned the player off that causes the sound and sometimes the picture to not work when going back to regular cable tv. This is fixable by going into the settings of the app on my tablet and resetting the sound and turning the system off then back on. If a VIZIO 4K player had been available at the time I would have gone with it. I imagine this player would work best with a Samsung tv or display and would probably set itself up if hooked to one, lol.

There aren't many options available for a 4K bluray player, and for being the first ones out of the gate with one, Samsung did a great job. Not a ton of features and doesn't support Dolby Vision, but the UI is intuitive and user friendly, and it is a well made product. The upscaling is very good from what I can tell, so no complaints there. Have not tried out any 3D features, so I can't comment on that aspect.

I specifically looked for a Blu-Ray and 3D capable player. I shopped across a range of different manufacturers and devices. The Samsung UBD-K8500 has met all my expectations. I found it easy to setup and use. The 3D playback is excellent and the features provided are solid.

I have been waiting for a player like this since 4K came out! Now that it's here I'm fully satisfied with all of my 4K tvs. This upscaled blue ray to near perfect as well. My only complaint is that the remote is small and difficult to work with. Even with that it still gets 5 stars.
