I don't like that there is no display on the this player. Maybe it's just my lack of knowledge when it comes to getting the most out of a tv and/or device but it doesn't seem much different than my older samsung 3d blu ray player...but I'm glad I have it in case someone else can show me how to get the best quality...and yes I have a 4K TV and am using the expensive HDMI cable

This is a fine Samsung product that nicely accompanies my new 4K QLED TV.

Plays DVDs and operates great! A little wider than any DVD players I've had

I wasn't sure how effective the UHD playback was going to be, but I was pleasantly surprised. It's very impressive.

4K is expensive but coming down in price. This is a solid entry model

I have this and the new xbox one with thr 4k bluray player. Reason i bought this stand alone player was that my reciever did now have hdr pass through... and this has 2 hdmi outputs so i have one to the tv and one to the receiver fir 7.1!

The DVD Blu-ray player is excellent, no issues with it to date 4K or 3D mode

This is a good player....would like a larger remote (as this one is tiny)...

Good picture. Did not like that I could not put all movies on full screen.

This 4K DVD player only worked sporadically, but when it did the picture wasn't any better than my Blu Ray DVD player. Plus they don't make enough 4K DVDs to make it worth your while to own. 4K DVDs are pricey too. I recommend waiting until price comes down on the player, DVDs and also make more variety of 4K DVDs.

I wanted to love this Blu-ray player, but I didn't. I don't see any difference between a movie filmed in 4K and one that's just a standard Blu-ray. I compared the movie Now You See Me, and it was no different. The 4K up-scaling in my standard Blu-ray player was the same as what the 4K version of the movie was. There was perhaps a slight difference in picture clarity, but nothing drastically noticeable. Unless you are a person that HAS to have the latest in technology, stick with a good 4K up-scaling player and save some money. I wouldn't recommend this to a friend only because it doesn't perform differently than other, cheaper players. I had no operating issues with this player at all.

Wow what a difference! A bigger difference from this, than DVD to blu ray.

I purchased the Samsung - UBD-K8500 4K Ultra HD Wi-Fi Built-In Blu-ray Player over a year ago. Eventually it stopped opening the disk tray. I just took it apart and used a toothpick to push the tray open. I figured who wants to deal with the warranty when it is still usable. I eventually went out and got another one that worked properly and am very satisfied so far.
