    The picture next to the the Sony was weak. Tried this twice with 2 different units and got the same picture. It does cost less now and for most of you will be happy but it is the 2nd or 3rd best player.

    Pretty decent, bit overpriced

    After a shipping mix up, I finally received my day one order... almost a month later. A couple things: PROS 1. It's faster than the bluray player I bought just a couple months ago. 2. It allows me to utilize the HDR setting on my TV with a full 4K signal. CONS 1. Since 1080p is basically optimal, the increase in resolution in negligible unless you're right in front of the screen. 2. New equipment may be needed. My receiver (advertised as video pass through on HDMI) would not pass through the 2.2 HDMI signal so it would only play in 1080p. I had to bypass the receiver and connect the video directly to the TV to get 4K. (This is a receiver problem, not the player's.) 3. The reviews on the remote being too small are totally accurate. I added it to my universal remote immediately so I could finish the setup. Overall, it's a decent player, but not sure it's worth the $300 extra dollars over a regular $100 bluray player, just for the 4K signal. It would probably be better marketed at closer to $200 or $250.

    The unit by default had automatic updates and HDMI-CEC turned on. This led to the player turning on and switching the input of the TV automatically while watching television. Very frustrating.

    This player seems cool however browsing the internet was a joke. It could not have possibly moved any slower. The remote is tiny and awful placement of buttons.

    The size is long and the shaped on the front is curved. We had this player for about 4 months and now it won't even turn back on. My husband literally put a blu ray in and closed it and the player began to read it and all of a sudden powered off. We cannot power it back on anymore. We tried everything. We ended up contacting Samsung customer service and sent it to them today to fix it under the manufactures limited warranty. Luckily it's covered for a year and free shipping to Samsung and free to fix-I hope they can fix it. Overall, bad buy.

    I'm not impressed when watching my old DVDs and Blu-Rays. Maybe it will only look special for new stuff or maybe my choice of settings isn't good. At this point I would say I could have gotten the same thing for a lot less money.

    Not as impressive as I thought it would be. Was expecting to be impressed with the picture playing a 4K DVD but really couldn't tell much difference on my brand-new Samsung I and 4K TV other than compared to regular DVD players

    It plays UHD discs with HDR and they look great. Outside of that, it's pretty lackluster. Slow, loud (fans and loading sounds), boring and not very intuitive controls. Wait for the next generation. Especially at this price.

    Another Consumer Reports Fail

    I purchased this unit solely on the strength of the Consumer Reports ratings. My OLED 4K TV, also purchased based on Consumer Reports, was connected to the Blue Ray but rather than crisp, clear images there was instead a high degree of graininess to the picture quality. I am unsure if the problem is the TV or the Blue Ray but either way, I am let down by Consumer Reports.

    I am having a hard time finding a HDMI cable that is right for this. If your TV is 4K and does not have HDR it is no better then a blue-ray player. That should be on the box or they should tell you at Best Buy when you buy.

    It serves our purposes of a movie soundbar and subwoofer without breaking the bank. We have had it for about 2 months. The only downside is the complexity with switching different input modes.

    I did not think the unit was working correctly. It was very difficult to understand its operation. Many of the features were duplicates of what was in my 4K UHD TV. I returned the unit. It was also very expensive for a DVD player.

    Excellent smart player. 4k quality speaks for itself. Upscaled movie quality is good. Purchased player during black Friday but regular price leaves me questioning if its worth the cost.

    I played a 4k video on the new Samsung K9000 television with this disc player. I was expecting a wow factor. Didn't get it. I could not tell any difference between 1080 and 4k.
