Great picture but poorly made

Now it wont play any discs and or it shuts itself off and the power light just blinks constantly. Im hopeing the manufacture warranty is worth it. That's 400 dollars down the drain if it doesn't. Think twice before you buy.

To me 4k hasn't been so much the quality of the picture going up. What I have noticed is the depth of the picture is incredible. Makes it look like you looking through glass. The colors are very vivid and the up scaling from 1080p is very noticeable. All in all I am very happy with this new player. I would definitely recommend it to anyone looking to upgrade to 4k.

It has a hard time playing the more simple DVDs and it broke after two weeks. It would not turn on or open the DVD door. Not happy for the amount of money it cost.

Can't modify picture from any source other than disc. App store lacking; especially in the music, sports and news categories. Average, at best, upscaling capabilities. Difficult to move apps from Samsung apps to My Apps. Pros-good picture and very easy to use. If I didn't suffer from the early adopter syndrome, I would have waited for the availability of other players. The Panasonic 4k player which has, as of this date, no on sale date, has gotten far better professional reviews and comparison versus the k8500. Based upon the cheap plastic construction of this unit; I purchased the four year extended warranty. I think I'll need it. I should have waited.
