This was easy to set up, fast to load playing disk and had a great 4K picture quality. But I hate with a burning passion the remote! Too small! And still trying to learn more about upscaling but had a few shaky moments watching some DVD and Blu-Ray disk and the age of some of them is very evident and not as sharp. But as a first 4K player and watching 4K content on it is very good. Planing to move up in the future

I waited until I had more points and then purchased this player to go with the 4K TV we had purchased earlier. Our first 4K movie was The Martian, which we purchased with the player.

I purchased this 4k player because it was pretty much the only one at the the time. The playback quality is what I expected, however, I have an issue with the remote control. It is not very user friendly. The way its designed and laid out is difficult to follow. The forward and reverse buttons are the worse as they function dually for chapter stops too. You can easily make a mistake just trying work these buttons. I've had this player for some time now, and I am still not used to the remote control.

I connected this player to my 2014 Samsung UHD TV set, and discovered that all my regular blu-rays are upscaled to 2160p. So far, sol good. But then I received my first actual UHD blu-ray, The Martian, popped it into the player, and found that it is downscaled to 1080. Nothing I tried had any affect. I have yet to receive another 4k blu-ray, so I don't know whether I'd get a different result with a different disk. I've been in touch with Samsung tech support, but so far they have been unable to offer a solution that works.

DVD player clarity on every DVD I own 1St I like to say when I play 4k movies you can see the zits and holes like pores on the face on the actors. 2nd it takes seconds to play a DVD movie I have hardly wait times when reading disk. I can go on but I'm not just get the machine and witness what I am experiencing, good awesome quality so I wood recommend all to purchase this.

Got one on sale and Im happy about it! If you hook it up to a samsung tv (2016 model) make sure you enable UKD color on the port you connected it. Also tinker with the settings for the player itself, enable deep color. And man at the end youll get some sweet picture out of this player.

Enjoying the 4K player so far. But there are not many movies at 4K yet. This is the only device I found that would put out 4K for my new 65 inch 4K monitor. Still have problem with big black bars on top and bottom of picture. Could not find any adjustment to expand picture or get rid of the. So you probable would need a 80 inch monitor to really enjoy movies so the black bars don't bother you. So the bad side is - You loose almost 8 inches of viewable picture area.

The second I put down $400 on this UHD bluray player, it brought back memories paying the same for that sweet HDDVD player back in the day. After I got over that, things were pretty good. The problem I'm having is that the TV loses signal from this player when I do things in the menu. Sometimes when I put a disc in, the screen goes blank. I need to turn the TV on and off to make it work again. I tried on different HDMI inputs and came to the conclusion that it's glitchy. It does, however, play 3d, UHD, bluray and just about everything else (no HDDVD) Every movie watched so far has been fantastic, so I can overlook the minor things. It's very neat watching the HDR do its thing, so I think it's worth it if for only just that.

If you have a 4K television with HDR capabilities this is a no brainer. While it isn't cheap, it opens up alot more content for use with your new TV.

We've all seen the advances of electronics, and this is clearly an entry level UHD player. Regardless, it provides a stunning UHD image and embedded links for services like Amazon, Netflix and Vudu. All of which play better than on any other device. However, there is a lack of agility in scanning frames for repeat play, or other advanced search functions on UHD. Easy to get away with as there isn't any competition, yet.

I agree with other reviewers that the build and disc tray seemed cheap and chintzy, and that it also made a lot noise, whirring, shuffling, making me think it wasn't going to last long. But it worked and I had it for 3 months and own five 4k discs. But it would not play one of my favorite movies in 4K, Pacific Rim (and sometimes it would not play Crouching Tiger in 4K). This is a reference quality disc for the HDR and it would not play it after several attempts. I then bought the Phillips 4K player and it played the disc fine, no problems. Too bad, because the picture quality was very nice, especially for HDR.

LUV this Samsung 4K Ultra HD Blue Ray player! Bought the new tv and had to have this. GREAT Picture and vivid colors!

Works good with 4k movies. Wish it was a bit cheaper but it's new tech.

if you have a UHD 4K tv you need this device to watch blue ray 4K dvd's . Samsung product as usual execellant

For it to be the first 4k uhd blu ray player its pretty awsome. Not any kinks that need to be fixed with this. Match it up with a 4k uhd tv and a good sound system feels like you brought the movie theather into your home.

This is not like the cheep upscaling 4K units, this one plays 4K ultra HD DVD's

really liking this player. it shows excellent clarity and plays well with my 4k TV. granted it doesn't feel as premium as Panasonic's offering, but it's not as expensive as Panasonic's offering as well. So overall, no complaints.... it does what it's supposed to do.

This Blu-ray is amazing! It really brings out the value of my new 4k television.
