    I was very excited to purchase this product, once I opened the package and looked at the remote I became nervous. The remote does not fast forward, or rewind. Absolutely ridiculous. Sure it skips scenes, but when I just want to rewind the film back a few seconds I am totally hosed. The remote also uses an automotive battery/watch battery, which just baffles me. Why not use a AAA battery? I have a vizio 4k tv and a onkyo reciever that is also 4k compatible. So the blu ray player runs to my reciever, then makes it's way to my tv. The picture was a smidgeon better than a normal blu ray. All in all very unimpressed by this product. I am a big fan of samsung in the phone department, but it looks like I will just be buying their phones from now on. My recommendation for anyone looking at the 4k blu ray players is to just wait it out and let another manufacturer build a better product!!!

    After spending a lot of time comparing this Samsung model to the new Philips player and the Xbox one S, this seemed like the best of those three, so I bought it. And the actual movie display on my Sony 4K HDR TV was spectacular, just as good as I had hoped for. However, the remote control that comes with this player is beyond bad, way beyond. I never thought I would return a Blu-ray player just because the remote wasn't good, but this was an easy call. First the construction: must've been designed by an intern. Teeny tiny little thing, all the buttons mushy, almost impossible to press the enter key without pushing one of the up or down arrows as well. Just awful. As if that weren't enough, when I paused the movie I was watching after 10 minutes, that was the last time the remote functioned at all. Just stopped working. I replaced the battery with another new battery just in case, but no luck. Ditto when I turned the player on/off a few times. I went to the Samsung site, which said to yank the battery out altogether and then push one of the buttons for two or three minutes, then put the battery back in, which I did, twice. No luck, twice. Enough is enough, so I took the Blu-ray player back to Best Buy the very next day and did not pick up another player to replace it. Very disappointed.

    My first 4K DVD Blue-Ray Player

    Very frustrating player. If you have large hands forget about it. This remote is so tiny it will give you fits. If you have a Vizio 4K TV you better be patient because it does not set up in 4K mode like you would expect. I had a hard time getting the resolution to stay at 4K 2160. This unit cuts out of the applications quite often, YouTube being a prime example. I have had to reboot the system several times the first 10 times I used the app. Tried taking advantage of the Samsung technical support line but they were argumentative and spoke over me. When I tried to communicate with them it was like they weren't listening. I will most likely be buying a competitors player.

    overall the player is okay. i recently purchase the oppo 203, this Samsung doesn't have the sound or picture quality of the oppo 203. its good if you want streaming or dont want to spend the extra $200.00. i enjoyed it but im a picture guy. i want the best picture and best 4k. i recommend but there better.

    Not Samsung's usual high quality - this is junk!

    I liked the picture quality of my new Samsung 8000 series 60” TV, and thought this would be the perfect companion device. I was shocked to find this device is so buggy and flawed I have found it to be junk. Extremely poor design. It crashes, freezes, malfunctions, and stalls regularly. It requires serious adjustment during virtually every viewing session. That could mean anything from wrestling with the indecipherable controls, to starting my movie over from the beginning, to having the machine fail to find subtitles – claiming they don’t exist (but then they magically become available 8 or 9 chapters in), to subtitles, once on, “un-select” themselves after an hour and have to be re set, to pulling the power plug for a manual shut-down and reboot. ETC. The picture on my new and otherwise “{perfect” Ultra HD TV is glitchy, and I see little “stalls” as the brand new 4K Ultra disks shudder a bit every few minutes. And yes, I have all the recommended hardware and tested set-up, including the Ultra HDMI cable (BTW – I bought it all at the Coeur d’Alene, ID, Best Buy). The remote is a joke. It is devoid of most of the action features I have had on my Sony devices for years (such as 10, 20, m or 50-second jump ahead or back; frames-by-frame advance or re3verse, etc.). The remote is the size of a candy bar, is not illuminated, and the buttons are so tiny I have to use the edge of my fingernail to work them. Frankly, I am simply disgusted at this low level of performance. I paid $250 or so for this a couple months back, and expect it to work. I am amazed this machine has a rating of 4-point-somenthing on the Best Buy site. Assuming for the moment those are authentic reviews from real custmers(?), I must ask: How can I get the player THOSE people used? Otherwise, I am planning to replace this with a Sony 4K Ultra product when I can afford it.

    Great Blu ray player

    I love this unit for movie watching. Only downside for me is that while watching Netflix and other streaming channels the sound is off with the mouth movement. I've tried to adjust but can't seem to get it dialed in. Overall gret unit tho

    This thing is super fast at loading discs ( Even the 4k Ones ) , the apps loading work as fast as my roku 4. 2 HDMI connections are awesome for people who do not want to upgrade their receivers. Overall great player.

    This remote is really small and awful to use. Doesn't even have separate buttons for fast forward and track select. Buttons are tiny and hard to use. When can we get suitable replacement for this failed remote???

    Not compatible with my Sony 4k TV XBR55X850C bought 4k movies and it won't play them in 4k error message saying HDMI input won't accept HDCP 2.2 signal.

    Bought this product over thanksgiving thinking I would enjoy the 4K experience with my Samsung SUHD TV. Well I am currently on my 3rd player and looks like the issues have been resolved. The first 2 kept freezing the discs and could not ff or select any scenes. I followed everything I was supposed to do and even called Tech support. It appears that the 3rd player fixed all glitches but I still can notice a diff between 4K and regular blu-ray. If there is a diff is is so slight that it would not justify the higher price for the 4K player. Anyway it is working now and since I got it at such a good price I will hang onto it, but no one should have to go thru all that agg for a DvD player.
