Bought a Lemon had faith in Samsung and got BURNED
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.So, I bought the unit on November 27, 2016 as a gift. Opened it up on Christmas. Did not get around to setting it up until the 28th. The unit would not even power on. I tried chatting with Samsung Support. The only resolution at this time was to put in a support request. That will take 2-3 business days. Then I will have to ship the unit in. Wait for it to be processed. Then wait for it to be repaired. Wait for the unit to be processed. Wait for it to be shipped back. Then hope it works.

Worked great at first

problems problems

They sometimes would just stop in the middle of the movie. I am using very high grade hdmi cables and a Marantz receiver to a 4K Sony tv. I finally took the second one back and Best Buy treated me very fairly as I had bought a warranty on both of these. I purchased a new Sony 4K blue ray player this past month. I brought it home and have watched 6 movies without even a glitch..I would not recommend the Samsung to anyone.

No better than a 100$ blueray player
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.It's actually not any better than any Blu-ray player that has upscaled to 4K capability I played the Blu-ray copy on the PlayStation 3 with a TV that actually upscale 1080p to 4K and it looked exactly the same like the 4k blueray no different than the 4K disc don't waste your money if it's the same as a Blu-ray disc but more expensive just buy a Blu-ray player that has the 4K upscaling looks exactly the same returned it the next day

Samsung UBD-K8500 4K DVD player
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Your TV has to be "high dynamic range" (HDR) compatible, otherwise the 4K dvds will not work. It will play them in HD only. I told the people I bought the 4K DVD player from which 4K televisions I have and was never told I needed a HDR compatible TV. Went back and talked to the (4) sales Reps again and I arrived at the conclusion and that they didn't know much about HDR. This turned out to be a big disappointment.

Not what I expected...

Every time I turned on this player, the screen would go in and out. The second time I returned this product I went with a Sony 4K Bu-ray player and I haven't had any issues with it so far.

Stopped working after 15 DAYS! Junk
